On August 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 pm, my 2014 Dodge Challenger caught fire in the trunk area where the battery is located. I had just parked at my location and was about to get out of the car when I noticed a strong burning smell and smoke coming from the rear. Flames were visible inside the trunk. The fire damaged the trunk interior, wiring, and surrounding components, but the battery still functioned afterward. There were no warning lights or prior issues before the incident. This poses a serious safety hazard and could have caused injury or further damage if it had occurred while driving.

At 7k miles my windshield cracked sitting in the driveway. I have done some research and there are plenty of examples of 2023 Dodge Challengers having this issue. It is because of a manufacturing defect in the glass. I contacted Dodge and the dealership and they've claimed this damage is known and even inspected to prove it was not caused by an impact. Dodge also will not replace it under warranty even tho it is a manufacturing defect.

2017 Dodge Challenger 392. My radiator fan motor seized, causing the fan blades to explode sending plastic pieces into the radiator and other fuel lines. The fuel lines were my biggest concern because of fire. However, it did not. Next the repairs at a certified Dodge dealership cost me over $5,500. In damages to repair. This is a very known issue with Dodge srt models. Furthermore, not even a month later the other fan seized and exploded apart, once again causing complete failure of my 1 month old radiator, causing another $5,000 in damages to repair. This is a very well known issue on forums across the USA. Thank you.

Got into my vehicle Saturday 4-19-25 and hit the start button and my front windshield cracked!!! a lot of people are having the same issue if you look on the Dodge hellcat forum.
I own a 2023 Dodge Challenger r/t with approximately 9,200 miles. Recently, while the vehicle was parked, I discovered a significant crack in the front windshield originating from the passenger side edge with a length of approximately 10 inches. Notably, there are no visible signs of impact, such as rock chips or debris damage, indicating the crack developed spontaneously. This sudden failure compromises the structural integrity of the windshield, potentially reducing protection in the event of a collision and distorting visibility, thereby posing a safety risk. I took the vehicle to hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in concord, nc, where the dealership visually confirmed the crack. However, they denied warranty coverage, citing that the issue occurred beyond the 12-month coverage window. No prior warning lights, messages, or symptoms indicated any issues before the windshield cracked. Upon researching, I found that other owners of 2023 Dodge Challengers have reported similar spontaneous windshield cracks without any impact, suggesting a potential manufacturing defect. For instance, a user on a Challenger forum reported a 6-inch crack on the passenger side of their windshield, which appeared without any impact and extended halfway across the windshield by the end of the day. I believe this issue may be related to inadequate windshield adhesion or stress from body flex, possibly due to manufacturing defects. I am submitting this complaint to bring attention to a potential safety defect that may affect other vehicles of the same model and year.

Was driving out of the parking lot when I started to drive I felt the car shifted then the engine light came on. Took it to auto zone the next day and they said it’s an incorrect gear rotation on their scanner. The car feels fine when I drive and it’s not shaking at all.
Windshield cracked for no reason no scratches chips or damage but cracked from the a piller on the driver side.
Windshield cracking for no apparent reason. I do not know the underlying cause however there are many people reporting this issue on social media sites. Some suspect welding/bonding issues resulting in flex causing the crack under stress. My car was sitting in the garage when the windshield cracked from the a-pillar inward. All videos, pictures submitted from others show the crack in a similar fashion. Driver/passenger side from the a-pillar. Some have provided pictures/videos of brand new cars sitting on the lot with the crack. Others are on their 2nd and 3rd windshield replacement.
My automatic start hasn’t been working for months . Sometimes it work , sometimes it doesn’t . When it doesn’t work I get a message on the dash saying “remote start cancelled hood open . “iced taken my car to the Dodge dealership several times & it keeps happening . I’ve contacted Dodge customer care etc and nothing . Once when I was at the dealership the gentlemen said another customer came in with the same issue . This is car is too expensive, , I only have 38400 miles and nobody knows the issues nor do they care . I believe this is known issue with Dodge.

I leased this car there purchased it. Never had any accident or anything in that sort. However my car start to make this metal noise when I am driving which is super loud. I took it to the dealership but they said it's not serious without doing a thorough check up. They said it's just a sound that those type cars make and it replace the metal part it cost about 10k or something like that. I never heard this sound in any type of car. The sound is very loud and I don't feel safe driving my car. Something is off and the metal sound is constant. Like 2 pieces of metal rubbing into each other and they're about to break.
My 2017 Dodge Challenger has an 8. 4 uconnect touch screen that is experiencing the common delamination defect. There are no warning lights or codes, and my car has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. It is currently available for inspection, but as it has escalated to a safety concern I do not know how long I can keep it in the car. The screen started delaminating 4 years ago, conveniently months after the car was no longer under the 3 year warranty. In 2020 the dealer charged me the $150 diagnostic fee, and then told me the only thing to do was spend another $1500 to replace the unit. The delamination is happening due to known manufacturer errors in the glue used, and is not exacerbated by owner misuse. After 4 years, the delaminating has spread to over half of the screen and "ghost touches" have increased in frequency so much that they have passed inconvenient/cosmetic and have become dangerous. The touch screen holds more than entertainment and comfort settings, it is also how performance features, and safety features are accessed. These ghost touches started as just changing the radio station, but now opens the performance app, which can not be used while in drive. It will also commonly call the sos number. If this is activated, it will attempt an sos call every 60 seconds and there is no way to shut it off. This is distracting to the point of danger at 75 mph on the interstate. I would be less distracted using a cell phone than trying to ignore a screen flitting to something different every 2 seconds. The NHTSA defines distracted driving as "any activity that diverts attention from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, fiddling with the stereo, entertainment or navigation system — anything that takes your attention away from the task of safe driving. " I am not distracted by my own poor choices, a recall needs to be made to protect the drivers of these vehicles.
The infotainment system is delaminating causing the system to start to dial random numbers with the ability for it to call 911 and hit the sos button. This is a known issue with the uconnect 8. 4" system. It's an ongoing issue that they refuse to recall. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
On 11-Jul-24 about 3:45 pm I was driving on the highway appox 70 mph and my sunroof exploded. There was only one car near me and not in a position to throw up any rocks.
The back up camera is horrible in the day and and night I checked several other new Challengers and all were the same this is definitely a safety issue there are several people who are also concerned on the Challenger blogs.
Was driving normally going 65 mph on the highway when white smoke was emitting from inside the steering wheel. Between the dashboard and steering wheel. Engine was fine and no warning lights came on. Everything ran great except for the white smoke. I don’t know what it could be. Luckily it didn’t catch on fire.

Not starting, brake peddle hard to press down ,would not start vehicle, afraid this will affect stopping when driving.
There is a loud popping sound when I start my car. It sounds as if the car is back firing. The sound has been duplicated several times. The sound does not happen every time, but it has happened well over 100 times. I have taken it into the dealership, and they claim that the sound can never be duplicated. Also, when I place my car in reverse and then drive the backup camera screen remains on in after driving forward for more than 30 seconds. This is very hazardous because when looking at the screen I can still see what is behind me which is a huge distraction.
I’m not sure if anyone has reported Dodge ( Challengers ) windshields unexpectedly without impact cracking. I’m seeing it a lot on the 2023 years my windshield cracked without impact, my brother also has a 2023 scatpack and his windshield cracked not even a week after purchasing the car. My cousin and uncle both have a 2016 and both windshields are cracked. I’m seeing a lot of videos on social media with people getting Challengers and their windshields are cracked aswell there is no ways it’s a coincidence.
The lcd of the uconnect control panel has progressively continued to delaminated since about 12-18 months after purchasing. Recently it has become a driving hazard. It presses the screen at random, which has changed the engine performance mode while driving and engaged the manual transmission option while driving. It has made over 40+ phone calls in the past month and has dialed emergency sos services least once. I am now forced to repair the screen myself because no recall has been issued for defective lcd screens.
The alarm keeps going off for no reason.

The infotainment controlls/stereo malfunctions constantly- it has turned the stereo on/off disconnected navigation, turned on or off heat/air conditioning as well as tried to activate sos dial 911- causes a constant distraction to attempt to correct the issue-.
There is a TSB for all 392 and hellcats regarding the radio frequency hub module (rfhm) update. This prevents thief’s from stealing your car and making a new key fob with their own programming tool. I was told today that my vehicle does not qualify because it’s a manual transmission. My car was stolen December 11 and if I had that update for the key fob it would have prevented them from stealing my car. I was able to recover the car and wanted to do have the radio frequency hub module (rfhm) update. My car because it’s a manual now is a huge risk where the automatics have some what of a chance from them not taking the car. I feel that’s it’s completely unfair and doesn’t make sense why I wouldn’t not be able to have it done especially since this TSB came out a year ago.

The adhesive that binds the digitizer to the lcd display will melt and causes thr infotainment system to press buttons by itself at random whenever it is on. Mine has tried to contact emergency services (911) while I'm driving. It is incredibly distracting while I'm driving. A known issue with 8. 4 inch uconnect screens made in 2017 through 2021.
My 2019 Dodge Challenger wheels on the front has been wearing and tearing from the inside causing rubbing on the outside of the wheels. When I drive there is an uneven drive with the wheels wobbly going down the road. I have rotate the tires every oil change. I am afraid that this will cause an accident. There were no signs of the tire pressure lamp was on. I went to the Dodge dealership in bessemer, al. At no avail did the mechanic checked the wheels only to say there are no recalls on this model. How can I get someone to check.
Evaporator went bad car is 2019 with 34k miles. Reported incident on a Dodge facebook page and multiple Challengers 2018-2020 are having the same failed evaporator issue.
I had a flat tire while driving to work and was unable to pull over for about a few thousand feet. As the tire went flat I swirled into the grass on a street without a shoulder. The tire snapped off and was not locatable. I filed a police report and called the police at time of incident. The total damage on the vehicle was under $3,000 but because the tire snapped off and damaged the firewall Dodge stated that the vehicle had to be a total loss. This was a 2019 Challenger there should be no reason for a wheel to snap off like such. After visiting several Dodge chat rooms I have learned that this is very common with the Challenger and needs to be addressed with a class action suit and safety recall! this happens very often to Dodge Challenger consumers.
My 2019 Dodge Challenger gt harness has been compromised. The electrical system in a vehicle, including the headlight circuit, is designed to operate within specific parameters to ensure safety and reliability. When a harness is compromised it can cause an electrical short circuit. In my case, this short circuit is causing a fuse to melt. A fuse is a safety device designed to protect electrical circuits from overheating and potential fires by breaking the circuit when excess current flows through it. When a fuse melts due to an electrical short caused by a faulty harness, it means that excessive current is passing through the circuit. This situation can be dangerous for several reasons 1. Loss of headlights: the melted fuse interrupts the flow of electricity to the headlights, resulting in them going out completely. This sudden loss of visibility can be hazardous, especially at night or in lowlight conditions, increasing the risk of accidents. 2. Overheating: the excessive current passing through the compromised harness generates heat, often leading to melting or damage to surrounding components. This can potentially cause a fire hazard, posing a serious risk to both vehicle occupants and the car itself. 3. Electrical damage: in addition to the headlights, a compromised harness can affect other electrical components in the affected circuit, such as the turn signals, fog lights, or other lighting systems. It can also damage the vehicle's control modules and wiring, leading to further malfunctions and costly repairs. Replacing the faulty harness is crucial to restore the electrical integrity of the headlight circuit and ensure proper functionality. By replacing the harness, you eliminate the risk of further short circuits, melted fuses, and potential damage to other electrical components. It is essential to address these issues promptly to ensure your safety on the road and prevent any potential accidents caused by reduced visibility or electrical malfunctions.
The reverse camera screen is not adjustable and blinds the entire cab including looking into the mirrors. You must cover the screen to even look into the mirrors.
My back up camera works when it wants to sometimes and then other times it’s all blurry and can’t see also I get a light on for my brake system that goes on and off.
The touchscreen is forming air bubbles on the top corners. I've seen videos of touchscreens that have done this and people report it selects different options on its own while driving.
