Equipment Problems of Dodge Challenger - part 2

Per the car fax report provided at time of purchase. This car supposedly not been in any accidents. I noticed that the lights when on are not leveled. I took it to a local Dodge dealer to fix and to my surprise we were told that the lights were not leveled because the car had been in a wreck before. There is no physical damage from what we can see however the cost to repair or level required extra work in order to complete and cost was very high. I feel that Toyota of aneheim sold us a car knowing it had been in a wreck. When I called to see if they would repair they said no because I cannot prove that the problem existed before we purchased the r car. The vehicle was parked in driveway sat for 10minutes then the headlights started flashing on and off when we got near the car they stopped we move the away lights would go again. So we opened doors to find the front passenger floorboard and edge of front passenger seat begin to burn. At this point we have not been told a cause of the fire. I surance and Chrysler corporate are looking into it.

A car pulled out in . Frount of me doing 45 he was making a right turn light turned yellow would of made the crossing but had to swerve to miss the car and hit a pole causing frount end damage,estimate repaired 6000. 00to 7500. 00 in damages air bags did not deploy police,officer. Made a report and said that they should of deployed in the report I just bought the car from Dodge of oxnard. And found out they do all of the inspections on the car and not one recall was done think the car was from ‘rental company. 80,000 miles still on warranty pd cash 26000. 00 looking for help about the air bags not deploying fixing car. But was told to wait . Have car inspection first.

The uconnect infosystem 8. 4 display with navigation system has become defective. Because of this defect the system takes control of the infosystem switching between screens and options and as it gets worse it could possibly get into the power modes and other engine controls by itself without the driver knowing along with taking control of heating, cooling, lights and other safety features on the car itself without the driver knowing. Besides being annoying this is a huge safety concern that they are well aware of as there is extensive back ordering of replacement systems. In the dealership I go to they have 24 replacement units on back order. At roughly $1,800 per unit the company won't take responsibility for this defect.

The touch screen display has suffered from delamination, which has caused serious safety issues for me and my passengers. The delamination has caused the display to become blurry and difficult to read, making it difficult for me to access important features such as navigation and hands-free calling while driving. This has been a significant distraction and has put myself and others at risk on the road. Here is the list of concerns 1. Caused navigation to improperly work 2. Causes temperature to increase without user input. 3. Makes calls without user input 4. Changes vehicle features such as engine and steering setting casting safety issues. 5. Causes bluetooth and radio issues distracting me while driving 6. Causes system to reboot while driving allowing for some features to not be accessible.

On April 6, 2022 at approximately 2300 I was driving 65 mph on an old two lane highway when all lighting on the instrument cluster, steering wheel, touchscreen, kick panels, and both headlights went out causing me to drive off the road momentarily as I was in a curve. For several moments all of these components would light up and off erratically. During this event, my windows also began rolling up and down on their own. I immediately turned on my hazard lights and began to slow down to look for a place to pull over. This was a long and empty stretch of old highway and there was no shoulder to pull onto. At this point my hazard lights became faulty as well and would not flash at times. The safety of myself and others were at risk because during this event that lasted approximately five minutes, all aforementioned components would fault for moments at a time and there were times that I could not see the roadway or obstacles in front of me, I could not see my speed, I could not reliably use my hazard lights to warn other drivers. Other drivers would have had a near impossible time seeing me, such as the semi truck driver who almost hit me then flashed his brights and laid on his air horn when my lights had cut off. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure and none after either.

They preyed on me, they overcharged me for the car in the 1st place, they lied to me and tried to cleverly extort me while victimizing me with their predatory lending. And in the midst of that, they broke several laws. Therefore, after gathering all of the evidence that I have. . . I really feel they have taken advantage of me. I work hard for my money ( being away from my family, driving from state to state ) to provide/pay for nice things for my family like this big beautiful muscle car. Only to be victimized by the very company I purchased it from. Now. . . Any type of financing "anything" stresses me out. I worry will I be victimized again, from companies like coast 2 coast? and they have several locations just in the houston area. Therefore, I'm wondering how many people have they done this to? or how many people they might continue to do this to? this has me contemplating, should this be taken to the press / social media platforms and/or to congress/the police? to have the laws enforced/enhanced for companies like coast 2 coast who take advantage of their customers/consumers? furthermore, I'm thinking about launching this publicly to see if there are other people that they have done this to? if so, this could be a multimillion dollar class a lawsuit that would include all of their locations and this could possibly be the lesson they need to learn. In conclusion, I know that most companies that victimize people and break the law, think they can resolve these issues by returning all of the finances that the victim(s) paid. However, I see that to be extremely disrespectful and very unethical and completely wrong because it gives them a pass. Due to that, the resolution has no repercussions for the lending predators. And since they tried to gain a monetary advantage, they should experience a monetary disadvantage of "at least" twice as much! therefore, I would,ve paid close to $50,000 in total. So (rounding off) to $50,000 x 2 (twice) = $100,000 is what I want!!.

Oil housing adapter has failed and needs replacing. I went to two different shops (independent and dealership) that stated the part is made of plastic and has a tendency to fail. Yes my safety is at risk due to the fact the car can run hot at any given time. Yes the car has been inspected and no there hasn't been any warning lights. When I took the car in for another problem, the tech noticed that the part was cracked and needs replacing. I am not sure why Chrysler would make a plastic part this close to an engine and now it is causing problems for customers. The part is currently on backorder because so many have failed.

My vehicle randomly swerves back and forth when driving. It is very scary and could easily cause an accident and take my life. I’ve taken it to vigo Dodge and had 3 different mechanics inspect my car over 5 hours and although they each drove my car and experienced what I’m referring to, they didn’t know what the problem is. I was told to just drive it til it got worse and then maybe they could find the problem. I’m scared to drive my car over 30 mph cause the random swerve could make me lose control or even swerve into oncoming traffic. I desperately need help and don’t know what to do.

My headlights keep going dim I’ve only owned this car a year in January. I’ve changed them 5 times also the electronic stability control supposivly was fixed and they changed me an arm and a leg it keeps glitching I hate going to the dealership because I feel as tho because I’m a female they want to just charge me all this money cuz I’m vulnerable and also I believe my vehicle was hacked and I can’t find any help with any of this bad enough I have diabetes and can’t see at night the head lights are almost non existent and can’t drive car at night this isn’t fair but it could be a security issue due to canbus hacking.

The back up camera cuts on and off and doesn’t work most of the time and then my abs and traction control light comes on and off.

The rear camera wiring harness becomes loose from opening and closing the trunk. Over time the camera intermittently stops working. I had this repaired once by the dealer under warranty but it keeps happening. Now the warranty is expired so the dealer will not repair unless I pay for it. But the original repair did not solve the problem so I am not willing to pay them. When the camera goes out you have to open the trunk and giggle the wires to get it to work again. This has been an ongoing issues since the car was new. I noticed the recent Tesla recall for this same problem and decided to report it.

Car was making a noise in motion only. I had the car inspected and noted on inspection the drive shaft was deteriorating. The car was inspected by car-x and sam leman dealership. The mechanics advised the car was not safe to drive. The drive shaft was replaced by sam leman Dodge of peoria.

The uconnect 8. 4 display in my car has begun to delaminate. There is a large air pocket under the top portion of my display. This morning while waiting for the car to warm up so the heat would function on the climate control system, I used the display to set the defrost to on. After removing the initial frost from my windshield and I was able to see clearly, I left the house and headed to work. While on my way to work I begun to hear confirmation beeps from my display, as if I was touching the onscreen controls. The touchscreen display began to change settings on its own. Changing my climate controls from high heat to low cold resulting in my windshield immediately frosting up and reducing my visibility to nothing, during morning traffic. I nearly impacted another vehicle that was turning while distracted by the display and the lack of visibility it caused. I rolled down the windows and found a safe place to pull over to wipe the frost from my windshield. The entire time the display was switching thru pages and begun to call contacts from my phone change songs, and even the performance level settings. I had taken the vehicle to the dealership far prior to my warranty expiring when I initially noticed the bubble at the top of my screen, only to be told that since it was a cosmetic defect and the operation was normal that the warranty would not cover the replacement. And a replacement was $2,200. Now my vehicle warranty is expired and it has changed from a cosmetic defect to a defect that has affected the safe operation and nearly caused me to rear end another vehicle at 55 mph. From the research I have gathered during my lunch break the display in these units operates too hot and the glue bonding the touch panel to the display itself has melted and caused the separation. It seems to be a common issue that affects any vehicle with a 8. 4 uconnect display, judging by complaints on the forums. This is not only a distraction but a major safety hazard.

The touchscreen failed and started to delaminates. It has phantom touches and presses buttons randomly. It's very distracting while driving as it turns different controls on and off such as the climate (ac on and off, high heat then low cold), heated seats on and off, steering wheel heat on and off, also randomly calls when bluetooth is connected. When the screen starts doing phantom touches it is very distracting to the driver. Also, as the glue melts, it leaks onto the wiring of all the components under the screen including the ac, all the parking sensor and traction control off controls. Car is out of warranty.

Car stall no warning lite. Car has stalled when driving on the freeway, when exiting the freeway as well at making turns. This has been happening for about 3 years. Seems to only happen during the summer months. The Dodge dealership said that they would not be able to identify the problem unless a warning lite was on or they test drive and it happens. The problem doesn't happen all the time it's sporadic.

I purchased my vehicle new as a 2015. The hvac blower motor has gone out so quickly and is rattling. It has been about two days when it started out of nowhere and as of today, the blower is not blowing anything out. It should last for 10-20+ years. My wife had the same issue with her BMW and it burned out and black smoke came out the vents. The wires were scorched. This is a safety issue due to fires. I have done research and vehicles have caught fire because of this problem in vehicles. Please advise and thank you. Jason morales.

Reaching out to others in the region, this is a common occurrence, possibly brought on by excessive heat/humidity. * safety: not directly related to safety. * problem has been confirmed by dealer as being a part that would need to be replaced to fix. * problem has not been inspected by any party other than manufacturer's dealer. * there was no warning/indication of the issue, it just started occurring. Issue started in July 2021, leading to an issue potentially caused by excessive heat.

I went to jiffy lube on June 7,2021 for a regular oil change and they discovered that I have a major oil leak in my transmission panel and my car is only at 68,000 miles that’s a estimated guess but it’s for sure around that mileage.

Upon receiving a phone call while my device is connected to the uconnect infotainment system, the incoming ringer volume is set to maximum loudness. This cannot be changed. The ringer is so loud, it is startling to anyone who is in the car. Every time I get a call while in my car (through uconnect), I jump. I thought a friend of mine who was in the passenger's seat was going to have a heart attack. I have tried changing the volume on the ringer and it cannot be done. This is a huge safety concern. I contacted Dodge directly and I was told that I need to check for updates to my uconnect system. I did that and there are no updates available. This needs to be remedied as soon as possible. I have checked around on the internet and have read hundreds of other people complaining about this same issue going back a few years. Dodge has been incredibly neglectful with this issue. This needs to be fixed immediately.

While unloading items from the trunk of my 2015 Dodge Challenger, I had the misfortune of the trunk lid falling my head and almost knocking me out. The trunk will not stay up on its own (especially when parked on an incline). The weight of the trunk is too heavy for the struts that are designed for it. This is not the first time the struts have failed on the trunk of this vehicle and have been replaced by a Dodge oem dealer (approx 2 years ago). I feel like this could be a safety issue for other Dodge owners in the future.

Back up camera goes out (turns gray/ fizzes out) occasionally and stays on when car is in drive.

Driver side window cycles up and down while the car is shut off and locked at night and drains the battery.

Uconnect screen is delaminating. It’s causing safety hazards due to driver distraction because of the radio volume randomly going full blast ( scaring me half to death) , heat turns itself up all the way full blast ( that’s very dangerous especially when you have little kids in the car), it will switch to the back up cam while driving ( scaring the crap out me me at times) randomly placing calls when bluetooth is active, the list can go on. It will literally look like someone is touching the screen pressing on stuff, although no one is touching it. It’s almost caused me to get in several accidents from being distracted which this. I contacted uconnect when this first started to happen and the said I was out of my 36,000 mile warranty ( I had 38,000 miles) and the couldn’t help me. It’s only getting worse.

In motion 40mph on surface streets the car made a big bang then following super load chattering and vibration feel from the transmission due to the clutch completely breaking apart not allowing to the car to go into any gear only 25000miles on the car.

My car is shutting off while driving. . I do recall that there was a recall on my car concerning this issue it was not fixed. .

Twice when driving down highway I went to pass a car and when I pressed the accelerator pedal my car did not accelerates,so I hurried and got back behind the vehicle I was trying to pass, it scared my daughter who was in the car with me. Today I was on the on ramp to merge onto the highway and tried to speed up and my car didn't ,the rpm stayed the same and no warning light came on,im guessing that taking it to get check would not help being it didn't have any warnings came on, and I don't have any warranty and I only have 57272 miles on car.

The driver side window keeps moving up and down when the vehicle is off and there is no key in the vehicle, causing the vehicle to drain the battery. It also it while I am driving the vehicle as well.

While making a right turn, the car just died outta nowhere, also seen in Dodge forums where this happens a lot.

Uconnect screen bubbled and the touch screen function causes it to do things randomly. This also affects the back up camera/viewing functionality. .

Window started rolling down about 1/4 inch (draining battery so I bought a new battery) and then other issues started occurring. Check engine light came on(while starting the car) then went off, (I had just put the car in park and turned it off), 5 mins later I turned it back on and window will not roll down at all now. As soon as the went stopped completely other things such as performance and brakes seemed to be hesitant.
