I turned my key over and the battery exploded. Both caps were blown against the fiberglass lid in the trunk. Battery was split across the front and side. Battery acid covered the underside of the trunk area. White odorless smoke came out of the trunk area.
2006 Dodge Charger -- for no apparent reason all dashboard lights and brake lights flicker and go out every once in a while, and some times the engine stalls. Some times the alarm goes on with brake light on/off problem. I turned battery kill switch off and on, it started the stalled engine. I pulled and pushed the emergency brake lever, it helped; but I will watch it for recurrance. The engine stalling problem may be a ticking time bomb. Nhtsa, please do something about it.
I have owned my 2006 Dodge Charger v6 3. 5l ho, for almost 2 years now and in that time the car has had the same problems that the dealers can't fix or even know what to do. I would go to start the car and it would crank up, turn over then cut back off. It would do that about three times before starting after I turn the radio off. It has also had about a 30 second pause when starting the car, in which there would be no engine cranking, no noise. . . Just the dashboard lights and nothing else. I had to turn the key three times before I got it to start. The absolute worst is the car idles down like it wants to shut off while stopped in everyday traffic not to mention the previous 2 I stated before, happens in spurts. Its been back to the dealership several times and I was told that the computer was returning "no codes" so they don't know what the problem is. They have tested the battery, ignition and they were all fine.
