I was almost rear-ended by a semi when the vehicle stalled at a light while picking my son up from work. It seems to stall at stop signs or waiting at lights completely. It stalls while idling here and there sometimes. Sometimes when driving on the e-way it jerks as it wants to stall but not completely. The main codes that pop up is u0100. Sometimes p0700 pops up and then sometimes the u0100 pops up along with a bunch of other codes. This has just started happening with my previous 2006 Dodge Charger 5. 7 which has happened once or twice and a u0100 code pops up when scanned. I've scoured the internet for solutions and notice. There's a lot of people going through this similar situation and it so happens to be the 2006 year that's plagued with this problem. Even getting a new pcm doesn't solve the problem. Whomever is in charge of the Dodge company needs to figure out the exact cause of this problem before a driver/passengers gets injured or killed in an accident because of it. Please put some fire under their butt.
My car has been stalling intermittently. But lately it's becoming more frequent. I've taken it to 3 different repair shops. Diagnostics shows p0700 and u1000 codes. The last shop charged me 150 dollars just to tell me that they don't know what's causing my car to stall. So I'm kind of lost here. Please help me.

My 2006 Dodge Charger rt v8 5. 7 keep stalling after I put gas in and shut off while I'm driving and when I pull over and it start right back up I'm really concerned about my safety because it done that multiple times on my way to work and after work.
Traveling I-5 at 65 mph when the car lost all power. No response in gas pedal, engine stuttered. Pulled off freeway and put it in park and turned the car off. Waited for around 10 -20 seconds then restarted the vehicle. Then all power and driveability came back. This is the 5th time this has happened for this car and becoming more frequently. Took the vehicle in to have it put on a diagnosis. Code is p0016. Crank shaft position, cam shaft position correlation/bank 1 sensor a. Also code p0128. Thermostat rationality test.
It cuts off when I'm driving it slows down and I have to tryin get over . And it takes almost a 1. 5 hours before it cranks back up. That can cause a car crash.
We where driving down the road and the cajust cut off in the middle of the road.
I was driving down the road and my lights turned off my headlights and dash lights had to hold my brights on because they wouldnt stay on by themselves, my dash speedometers had kept going up and down as if my car was dying almost hit a deer due to no headlights and driving at night.
1-fuel system after filling up will choke itself out at slow speeds or idling-2-engine cuts out going 40-80 mph jerks and cuts off and back on sometimes engine light comes on and other times not 3- issues with turning car completely off have to put back into gear then park again to turn off 4- at times when putting into park my brake light comes on. I thought I did good on this car but now I'm beginning to think I'm in over my head all of this happens on average every other day. One or all things happen intermediate.
I have 2 problems. First while driving all my warning lights will flash on then go right off. Another problem I have is my car will turn over and sometimes start but die immediately. Once I get it started it will go fine for a while before doing it again. By the looks of my research both problems are pretty common in 2006 Chargers.
I took my 06 Charger in for airbag recall and when I left the dealer my car shut off at every lights and shut off in the middle of going 40 50 miles an hour. It continues to do that more and more everyday. I've read on the internet about so many of the 6th generation Dodge Chrysler products doing this exact same thing. I can understand why a problem that causes you to stall out in the middle of a busy intersection is not addressed. First it start telling me that it was electronic throttle control problem, then it's now telling me that is a problem between the throttle control module and the ecm. This happened exactly one minute after I left the dealer getting my airbags recalled. It stalls at when stationary, when moving, in the middle of the street, and every couple minutes. I know I am not alone with this problem but I don't understand why nothing is being addressed.
While was trying to turn into parking spot my Charger suddenly died. When turned the car back on was able to start right back up. This has been happening more when tryong to turn the wheel all the way from a stop position or moving. Have almost been hit a few times when it just stops.
-the sunroof will not always close all the way. It will reopen itself upon exiting -my car stalls often whenever I accelerate, it seems the gas has to "catch up" this uncomfortable/unsafe. ) home. Also, it is embarrassing for my car to 'conk out'. - I am currently broken down due to the fuel pumps' incorrect assertions of gas. Disappointed andneed assistance to repair said issues. Thank you.
When driving the car it will randomly turn off and then come back on with out having to restart it. It's like if you were to turn a light switch on and then off again, it's that quick. I'm talking about everything shuts down, the lights the radio the gauges everything and then sometimes it comes right back on. There has been some occasions where it doesn't come back on tho.
After filling up with fuel my Charger will stall. It has happened 5 or 6 separate occasions over the past 2 years. I generally do not fill the car up all the way because of this. However just today I had the same problem after accidentally filling it. I do not top off the car when filling once the nozzle clicks off I stop. Today after getting gas I went to pull out into traffic and the car stalled. The power steering would not work the engine shut off and I was stranded halfway out into the lane of oncoming traffic. I put the car in park and restarted it and drove about 20 feet before it shut off again. This is a huge safety issue. I thought I was going to be hit. I did manage to get the car home which is about two miles away but I had to restart it four more times. I've got roughly 80,000 miles on the car I have always kept up with maintenance and with any repairs that needed to be done. I searched online to see if there was a recall for this problem but there doesn't seem to be even though a lot of people seem to be having the same problem not only with the Chargers but with three hundreds as well.
My son's car caught fire after he had parked it for the night. After 10 minutes he was called at his apartment by a friend who told him his car was on fire. There were no warning signs whatsoever. No warning lights, unusual smells, or hints of impending doom for his car.
Transmission and car computer are not working together properly, making the transmission shut off as I drive the car. Can happen at a red light, in the highway, even when it's parked. Brought it to several mechanics no one could fix it. Called the dealership and they claim no open recall but yet the car only has 89k miles. Was built wrong off the line if you ask me.

Engine shuts off while driving.
There is something going on with the electrical system which causes the instrument cluster to completely shut down and lights to flicker when driving. Usually happens when car heater is on or driving for a long period of time. I have a video of the issue and showed it to cerritos Dodge service department but they didnt acknowledge issue.
Two years ago I had to replace the engine while driving the car all the lights came on and it lost power while driving at approximately 40 mph. Yesterday while on the highway going 65 mph the car lost power. This is very unsafe especially on the highway.

The car has been to the dealer and the pcm $750 has been replaced and the plugs $350 have been replaced as well. I also get tcm codes. The vehicle will stall at a stop sign or stop light. The lights will flicker and the gauges will go to the max amounts and then back to zero. The car restarts and runs fine after this happens, but it keeps reoccurring.
Car shuts down completely while driving. Check engine light comes on along with a red lighting bolt. Went to Dodge dealership & they ran diagnostics no code came up. They did replace fuel tank from a previous recall. Got car back & immediately stalled again. Carried car back & they ran diagnostic while driving & code came up to replace computer. Replaced & programmed computer & car is still doing it. Dodge states that they do not know what the problem is.
2006 Dodge Charger. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle frequent stalling issues. The consumer stated the dealer was never able to fix the issue.
The occupant classification system was defective and failed to recognize a passenger was seated in the front seat during a crash. As a result, the passenger's airbag failed to deploy in a severe frontal impact collision. The vehicle was involved in a severe, direct frontal impact with another vehicle while travelling at highway speeds. The impact was severe, deformed frame rails and was directly frontal. The driver's airbag deployed, but the passenger airbag failed to deploy. The passenger, an adult female, was belted but her head hit the dash in the area of the airbag flap and she suffered fatal head injuries. The ecm was downloaded and revealed the occupant classification system had failed to recognize a passenger was in the front seat at the time of the crash. The eprom data read "front passenger occupant class: undetermined" even though an adult female was seated in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash. Investigation revealed that trw automotive u. S. Llc and kelsey-hayes company are the suppliers responsible for the occupant classification system and related parts that failed. .
The car stalled while I was driving at about 50-55 mph. Everything went out. Eventually the car started. Now, when I stop at a stop light or stop sign it stalls out. I have not received a warning light and I have had the vehicle checked with a computer. There are no lights on the dash indicating there is a problem.
2006 Dodge charges with 5. 7 hemi v8 - experiencing random stalling. Happens at any speed. Everything shuts off including the power steering and abs. First happened while merging onto freeway and I had to drive off the road to avoid a semi-truck. This happened with my young child in the vehicle. I had the gas tank, fuel canister, and purge valve replaced. The problem still occurs regardless of the amount of gas in the vehicle and regardless of when it was refueled. Even though this appears to be a common problem the dealership has been no help and even tried charging me for unnecessary diagnostics. Car does not flash a code so after replacing what was supposed to fix the issue, driving the vehicle is the only way to find out if it is fixed. This has lead to a few dangerous close calls. Please look into this issue before people get hurt because this is a serious problem. Thank you, jeff allen.
