I got out of the road put it in park and it started right up. I took it to a mechanic who could not find any codes or any problems.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/18/2017

Speedometer quit working, car jumps hard into reverse and drive, will not shift out of first gear, code u0100, u1120, u0121, u0103, replaced computer and had no change of condition, no transmission dipstick to check fluid, a must take to dealer item that is not sensible.

2006 Dodge Charger. Consumer writes in regards to parts not available to repair airbags, fuel tank, automatic transmission and service brakes/hydraulic recall notices.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2016

Has anyone else had issues with their brakes seeming to lock up and airbag light in dash coming on after r25 recall repair???? dealer refuses to address these problems without me paying for diagnositics to be run first & I don't have $100+ to pay out of pocket. These issues started the day I drove it home after getting the recall repaired. . . . . . Help?!?!! I paid for new brakes bc I figured it could be strictly coincidence, but the light & beeping too?!? no way!!!!.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that when the vehicle went over un-leveled land, there was a delay with the abs system. The vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed yet to determine the failure. The contact called two dealers and the part was not available to schedule the repair for NHTSA campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags). The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the contacts vehicle would receive the recall repair. Dyd.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/29/2014

Within blocks of leaving a fuel station and filling with fuel the vehicle stumbled then the engine died while traveling 35 mph on a city stream in the rain. Car was difficult to stop because of no power steering or power brakes.

10 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

Immediately after fueling vehicle to regular capacity and automatic shutoff - no "topping off". Left the filling station and the car stalled several times, each time in a precarious position such as decelerating to make a turn or coming to a stop at a light. Car dies losing power steering and breaks. Thought this might be bad gas but it has since repeated every time the car is refueled. This is becoming a serious safely concern as the condition is common during the first 50 or so miles of driving after a fill up. Upon speaking with the dealer they blamed the issue on the end user overfilling the tank. As the only user of the vehicle it is never overfilled nor “topped off”.

11 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2013

While I was driving approximately 35 mph my vehicle suddenly stalled causing me to lose power to the motor and power to the steering and brakes. I had to quickly pull off to the side of the road as the traffic was heavy and I had no power to control my car. This was a dangerous situation and I fear it may happen again. I have read about (Dodge Charger forum) many other owners of similar vehicles that this problem occurs shortly after you fill up the gas tank. I did just fill the gas tank prior to my car stalling incident. I feel this is a dangerous defect that develops on this vehicle and it needs to be looked into immediately.

12 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2013

This issue started approx 3 weeks ago. The head lights will not stay on they flicker off and on as if I was flashing my lights to alert another driver, when they are actually doing this on its on. This is not only a safety issue, but I'm afraid I will get pulled over by law officials. And my job requires me to have to be at work at night. This is very disturbing when this happens and they stay off at times for 30 to 40 seconds at a time and I'm having to hold the bright light arm to have lights. The passenger airbag light comes on from time to time saying it is not on, and there are brake issues as well.

13 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2013

I had just filled up my car and was pulling out of the gas station when my vehicle stalled in the middle of the roadway. My steering and brakes cut out as a result of the engine stalling. I try to continue to drive about 150' down the road when it stalls again. I finally pull over, restart the engine and let it burn off some gas before continuing. Every time I have filled up my take the problem reappears. If I don't fill up my tank I have no issues.

14 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2013

Minutes after filling my tank with gas, I drove less than a mile and turned into a parking lot. I was still driving, around 15 mph, when I heard a ding, and immediately noticed a loss of steering control. I pressed the brake and quickly noticed a loss of braking as well. It was then I realized the car had stalled while I was still moving! thankfully I had no one around and was on a straight stretch where I could slowly come to a stop, put it in park and restart. I pulled into a parking space, and the car proceeded to stall out 2 more times just sitting there. There was no warning symptoms ahead of time - perfectly smooth idle at the correct rpm, then it just drops to 0 as if the key were turned off. I ran into the store for less than 2 minutes, came out and drove home. I haven't seen any problems since then (this happened less than 24 hours ago). There were no codes thrown. I've owned this car since '07 when it had 5k miles on it. With a little over 88k miles I've never seen anything like this happen before. Needless to say if this happened in traffic it would be highly dangerous. Note: this is a 2006 daytona r/t. Early manufacture date of 9/22/2005.

15 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2013

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while adjusting the driver's side seat, both the accelerator and the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard and caused the vehicle to have low acceleration power. The contact mentioned that both the brake and accelerator pedals would rise or fall simultaneously depending on the adjustment of the driver's seat. The contact stated that the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 143,000.

16 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2013

After fueling up, I pulled out of the gas station and onto a main road. About 300yards from the gas station. I accelerated to approximately 40mph, in the middle of the intersection my car "dinged" the oil light came on and my engine shut down. I lost all ability to turn, or break. This is a very dangerous situation. I feared for my life. I originally thought it was because I let the fuel levels get too low, after, I realized if I fill up all the way, this always occurs. God forbid if I were to be entering on to a freeway at a higher rate of speed. Since this has happened to me 3+ times, I am very scared and nervous to drive my car. Something as to be done. Please, before someone gets killed because the gas tank and evap canister are screwy! I. Ant get any dealership or mechanic to fix it without replacing the whole tank,($$$$$$$).

17 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2012

In the 2006 Dodge Charger r/t the car will completely turn off if the gas is full or close to full. This is a well known issue with the r/t model. Dodge has known of this issue for years and also the dealerships. After filling the tank the vehicle will turn off in turn losing power steering breaks and engine power even while your foot is on the gas pedal. I have almost gotten into accidents due to this. I took my vehicle to the Dodge dealerships and was told that this is a known problem and Dodge refuses to call a recall.

18 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2012

After filling the gas tank, the car would stumble, miss and start jerking. Was making a 90 degree right hand turn and the car shut off. In the middle of the turn, I had no power steering nor brakes. Fortunately, there were no oncoming cars as I ended up on the wrong side of the street. Car restarted and ran a few feet before the stumbling, jerking and missing started to occur once again. After reading up on this problem, I had the gas tank replaced, as it (the tank) had all of the signs of a bad "roll-over" valve. This valve is molded into the gas tank and is non-replaceable. Once the tank was replaced, the problem has gone away and have not had an issue since.

19 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2012

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph the contact smell burning fumes inside the vehicle. The contact merged to the side of the road to inspect the vehicle and notice a fire on the passenger side headlight. The fire department was call to put out the fire. The vehicle was destroyed due to the fire. Upon investigating the cause of the fire, the fire marshall stated the abs system caused the fire. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000.

20 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2012

The gear shifter was in park possition and there it stayed was unable to shift gear to anything and had to take the console around the lever apart to shift gears. And the brakes squeak all the time even after having them replaced and the rotors replaced as well as the struts. Chrysler they say car is not part of the ones that they will fix the shifter on. Am mad enough over a 69 cent pink plastic part to want to stick this car up steve in customer cares rear.

21 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2012

The abs, brake and traction control lights came on. Then when you hit the brakes you would feel a vibration. The brakes do not vibrate any more but all the lights are still on. There was a recall for the 2007 Charger for this but not the 2006.

22 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2011

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated the brake pressure on the brake release made a grinding sound. The contact stated the column shift locked and the vehicle was unable to shift out of park. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told the NHTSA recall campaign in number: 06v149000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and NHTSA campaign id number: 08v583000 (powertrain: automatic transmission: lever and linkage: column shift), were related to the failure but the vehicle was not included in either recall. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 56,000.

23 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2011

About 1 year ago as I was driving along interstate 95 the instrument needles all went to 0 or far left then went back to normal immediately. As time went on this occurred more frequently. About six months later as I was driving at night the needles dropped off and the head lights went off and stayed off until I switched from the auto position to the manual on position. The next time it happened I was at a stop light and the car cut off in the middle of the road. I called a police officer because I thought I might get rear-ended. After about 5 minutes the car started but ran rough. Just this past weekend while driving at night in a parking lot the needles dropped off, the headlights went out, and the brakes malfunctioned.

24 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2009

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while starting the vehicle the brakes became extremely difficult to engage and also difficult to stop the vehicle while driving. The dealer advised the contact that the brakes do not need to be replaced. The contact is aware of the safety risk while driving the vehicle. The current mileage was 20,800 and the failure mileage was 20,793.

25 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2008

Brakes: the Charger r/t brakes only have 17k miles on them and the rotors need to be replaced. I complained to the dealer at 11k but was told that the shaking was normal. The dealers know about this problem with the rotors warping and refuse to extend the warranty past 12k miles.

26 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2008

Repeated warping and squealing coming from brakes. Dealership turns the rotors to "fix" the issue till it is out of original 12,000 mile warranty for brakes. They will then no longer correct the issue without payment. There is no permanent fix.

27 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2007

Braking system is squealing under normal use, and warped rotors are noticeable during all braking conditions.

28 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2007

Brakes squeal at all speeds when applied. Pulsating or shaking when decelerating from high speeds. Has been happening for many miles and has been brought to dealer with same story: brakes are metallic and will squeak from time to time.

29 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2007

Brakes squeal after warming up under light to moderate braking.

30 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2006

The failure with my vehicle is that the brakes squeal/screech every time I brake between 0-50 miles per hour. My car only has 11,000 miles and it is not supposed to be doing this. This is ruining my brake rotor. I took it to the dealer twice and both of the times they said it could not be duplicated. That was no help at all because I still have the problem.

31 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2006

Brakes squeak at low speeds.

32 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2006

My brakes on my Dodge Charger se with the 3. 5 l v6 have been squealing. It first started one day when I was driving and slowing down to a complete stop at a intersection. As I getting very close the intersection I heard a squealing like a school bus, so naturally I assumed it was a older vehicle with bad brakes. I kept driving residential neighborhoods with no other cars present and again when I came to stop at a stop sign the squeal was present. I only seemed to get the squeal when slowing to a stop. Also the brakes sometimes make a moaning sound especially when you come to slow down. Good example is if you are backing into a parking space and press the gas too much, you naturally press the brake to stop and then will ease off of it. I get the moaning sound going in reverse motion and forward motion. I let me dealer know who said that my vehicle was past 12,000 and that I would simply have to deal with it. This makes no sense for a new car to be doing this.

33 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2006

The problem started when I bought it brand new and kept bringing back to the dealer. Failure to find problem. Notice a lot of other customers having the same problem. Brought car to an expert and found the suspension which includes shocks, struts, brakes etc. Were not the right part for this model. Expert changed necessary parts and have not had a problem there after. Expert did research and dealer wanted to know what he did to fix it and he would not comply. They should do the research and fix the problem. I hope everyone files a complaint and I would tell Dodge they fix it or I will file a defect lawsuit for complete refund of a $42,000 car plus inconvenience.

34 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2006

I bought a new '06 Dodge Charger r/t a couple months ago. Car has only 3,000 miles and brakes are squealing bad, and grooves in the rotors. This is ridiculous. I know a lot of people are having the same problem.

35 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2006

Consistent brake squealing and minor vibrating when stopping.
