My car, Dodge Charger 08 has a recall since July of 2016 for the passenger airbag that the inflator may rupture which can cause metal fragments to be released throughout the car during a crash and cause other injury. I don't feel safe driving my car during this as I have a child and don't want them hurt during the possible case of an accident causing the airbag to deploy. The recall still hasn't been fixed, 8 months later, even though there is a government recall for it.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Charger. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v567000 (electrical system: ignition) and 15v313000 (air bags: frontal: driver side inflator module); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.
