1 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2021

When I would start my car the airbag light would come on this is the 2nd time this problem has occurred -1st time was when my car was just around 50k miles--airbag light came on--was told that it was due to having to replace harness getting crimped-caused a short(this was covered by warranty). My car now hit around 110k miles and same thing happened again. I took it in and stated same thing--explained what the problem was again--listed has having a short and repaired. Was told it was not under warranty even though it had to do with airbag and was charged a diagnostic fee and that covered the cost of fixing the air bag sensor short again. My problem is if Chrysler knows there is a problem of where this harness is located and it keeps on getting "crimped" and causing a short should this not be looked at and be fixed?.

12 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2016

Every single time I had any work or maintenance performed on my vehicle it's always with a Dodge authorized dealership/service station. I purchased my vehicle. Since 2013, I've had over 7 recalls on this car. Seven. One of which I had to contact Dodge to get reimbursed for the purchase of a new battery after their alternator killed it. The car literally shut off on me and malfunctioned while I was driving. 4th of July weekend my airbag light started turning off and on. I never even knew there was a light there. It's been illuminated non stop and haven't went off since. Drove my car to the dealership today that I always go to for service, and low and behold, they don't know what recall I am referring to, and the recall on my car for the airbag was "already performed". I called and spoke with felicia at Dodge 800853-1403. She tells me that Dodge records show that on 5/22/2016, I went to town & country dealership and had the recall repair performed on my vehicle. 1. I went to that location and only had an oil change and 23-point inspection performed. Even my online records and receipt reflect as such. 2. There is no signature on record of me asking for this recall to be performed, I never signed off on it, never discussed it, didn't know about it, they didn't give me a receipt saying that it was done, and they never actually did it but sent a bill to Dodge for reimbursement for the recall. 3. I received the postcard about the recall less than a month ago. On the postcard it says that records indicate there is two (2) open recalls that needs to be performed on my vehicle. Felicia @ Dodge states that I can take my car to a dealership, pay to either get the airbag light fixed (whatever is causing the issue) or pay for a diagnostic to be performed on my vehicle to determine if it is the recall problem that they show was "already fixed".

13 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2016

Air bag light and ding activates randomly when driving vehicle.

14 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2015

On 3 September I took my Dodge Charger into butler Chrysler Jeep Dodge, of beaufort. Sc 29902 (843 524 9696) for the recall notice I received for a recall, pertaining to the side air bags. I received the car back, and was told that the problem is fixed. On 20 September, as I was driving the air bag indicator light came on and is constantly on. I called butler Chrysler, and explained the issue I was having and was told that the light being on is not part of the recall. I told them the light was not on when I came in, and if they had competent mechanic, the light shouldn't be on now. They offered me a courtesy check on the light, however in repair is needed I will have to pay for it. I feel this is a huge scam to pay for a recall. I will refuse to pay for any repair to the air bag indicator, because I did not do anything to make the lights come on. Please help. Thanks,.

The air bag light keeps coming on, have taken it to two different dealerships. The first dealer was atlantic Chrysler on 12/31/14, they said it was the bag in the seat. They reset the light and is was fine until approx. March, then came on a couple times. In approximately in April I took it to sport hyndani Dodge, they said it was a dirty connection and charged me 90. 00. That lasted approximately 1 month and it came back on intermittently, now continually. Took it to sport today September 16, for a recall for the air bag system. They said it would not fix the light being on, they said it was a sensor and they would have to take the seat apart to figure out what the problem was. Did not have it fixed today, did not have the time. Has been in 3 times for same problem only to get 3 different diagnoses.

Problem should be looked into for a recall; a search of the internet brings up many people with the same problem.

26 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2012

My Charger has 2,317 miles. During driving the air bag light turn on with a chime. The light continue on. I turn the car off and turned on again and the light continue. I stop using the car since I heard that the air bag when this occurred shut down and don't work and if I have any accident, I am not protected by the air bag. On June 5, 2012, I visited the dealer for repaired. After 3 days in the dealer, they called me that the car is ready. On June 8,2012 ,I went to the dealer. In the dealer, the representative told me that the computer showed a code b0020-13. The technician proceed to realize a circuit test based on diagnostic table and they found a wire from the front driver seat air bag that need to be repaired. Based on the technician, one of the pin of the wire was out of position. The technician repaired to correct the code. After one day working good without the air bag light on, a chime sound and appeared again the air bag symbol. I check in various forum related to this car and in all of the forum they have the same problem and the dealer do the same procedure and the result is the same after repaired the light coming again. I think that Dodge has to recall this situation since we are not protected in case of a car accident.
