1 Brake Light problem of the 2010 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/10/2015

I received a "fix-it" warning from the nevada highway patrol due to a non working "3rd brake light". Checking the fuse and the led bulb did not solve the problem, an internet search told me to check the wire harness between the body of the vehicle and the truck lid. I noticed that several vehicles of the same type and for several year models have the same problem. When I pulled back the rubber from the wire I found 5 out of 6 wires in the harness broke in the same place. I reconnected the wires matching the color codes and this solved the problem. ( I also found out I have a trunk light !! ) the local service dept and also Dodge customer service denied there was an issue and did not accept responsibility.

2 Brake Light problem of the 2014 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/14/2014

The led stop lights on all the new vehicles are very, very brights. When directly behind on after dark at a stop the lights are so bright that they hurt my eyes, forcing me to close my eyes until they release the brake. This is not the only make/model with this issue: all new cars with led brake lights have the same issue.

4 Brake Light problem of the 2008 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

After returning from the grocery store, the trunk release from the key, nor the inside dash release would open the trunk. We have been using the mechanical key. Driving home one night, I noticed the third brake light wasn't working. After testing all the fuses, and researching online, I discovered the problem was the wiring harness that feeds the break light and had broken. Where the wire feeds from under the back window deck into a rubber boot, then in to the trunk lid. Three of 6 wires are broken in half at the same location. This is all over forums online that this is a known issue and that the opening and closing of the trunk causes these wires to break since the radius is very tight when closing the trunk lid.

5 Brake Light problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 09/08/2006

Brake lights first went out on 09/08/2006 under normal driving conditions on our 2006 Dodge Charger r/t. Dealership has fixed the problem on four separate times. On 06/03/2007 brake lights went out again and dealership once again attempted to fix the problem. When we got home with the vehicle, the brake lights were already out again. The dealership refuses to try and fix the problem, saying Dodge/daimler Chrysler needs to step in and replace the car. As of 07/10/2007 our Dodge Charger r/t sits in our driveway unable to drive the car while we get the run around from the dealership and from Dodge/daimler Chrysler. The dealership said they found the following problems with the brake lights; blown fuse, kink in the wiring, brake light switch module, right brake light assembly and 3rd brake light was arching. The repaired or replaced parts are not available.
