Passenger side headlight began flickering off and on for months. Finally went out all the way. Replaced bulb. Did not fix the issue. Checked fuses as this seemed to be a common issue on internet forums. Did not fix issue. Next step is changing headlight pigtail. I just saw that there was a recall on the 2011-2012 Charger headlight wiring harness. I believe the Dodge needs to expand their recall after all the customers experiencing issues with one sided headlight failure.

This car definitely has a wiring issue. Sometimes the car won't start. It is not the battery & it is not the starter. Occasionally the radio won't work. Sometimes when you are driving down the road, it loses all power. Sometimes the headlights just go out. Nobody can seem to find the issue.

One or both low-beam headlights cut off while operating vehicle. The manufacturer has released a safety recall that applies to my vehicle, however, it is not registered to my VIN at the moment. The recall number is p08 / NHTSA 14v-101. This has been a recurring issue.
Third time changing the light bulb and the wires for my headlight (low beam) and still having problems, few friends of mine have the same problem. Low beam goes off while driving. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

Passenger side headlight has gone out 4 times in the past 4 months. When changed/fixed, each headlight bulb is burnt and 2 out of the 4 have busted inside the headlight assembly. It is the correct bulb/voltage and certified orem replacement headlight bulbs for the low beam. Each bulb last only 4-6 weeks. No signs of moisture in the headlamp assembly or faulty installation.
The headlights on the 2019 Dodge Charger sxt are terrible. At night while they are on dim they are not bright and the iihs rating is poor. I've complained to my dealer about the headlights and they adjusted them but to no avail. They are not bright and I had 1000% better lights on my civic I traded in. Something has to be done about this poor rating. It this reason I'm am in talks about trying to return the car if this cannot be fixed.

1. The wiring to the headlights keeps burning into and it has been replaced twice already. 2. The radio doesn't come on when I start the car; I have to shut it off and restart it sometimes several times to get everything connected. 3. I have had to have my car aligned 4 times in 9 months and bought 2 sets of tires because it will not keep the alignment. This has been going on for over a year and the radio and lights has been happening for much longer. What can you tell me about these problems?.
My vehicle is having all of the problems associated with the p08 recall. My low beam headlights intermittently go out while driving at night. Completely dangerous for me to drive this way. Factory says my vehicle VIN is not part of the recall. I believe that you clearly missed diagnosed what vehicles were effected as mine is. Please help!.
When I am driving my vehicle either one or both headlights will go out. I am able to flip them off and they will turn back on but continue to go out as I am driving. This occurs during all driving conditions, highway, city, stationary, moving, accelerating, breaking.
My 2012 Dodge Charger is having the same low beam headlight issue as the recall posted 5/2/2014 for my year. However, when I look up my VIN number, its saying there is no active recalls.
Low beam hid headlights fail (turn off completely) when on for period of time regardless of if vehicle is stopped or in motion. There is an existing recall, recall number p08 dated 04/2014 however my VIN and other vehicles with hid low beam lightning were "not included" in the affected vins for p08.
The front arm controls go out quickly. Went to a well known mechanic shop and was informed this is common and frequent in Chargers and my headlights have blown. Every other Charger I see, 2016 and above havevat least one headlight out or both. The headlight issue is too frequent for this to be just wear and tear on such a recent vehicle. The suspension wears out too quickly and is extremely expensive to have repaired. I owned a car for more than 5 years previously and the suspension did not show signs of wear until at least that 4th or maybe 5th year. These 2 issues I truly feel are a defect within this particular vehicle.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While driving various speeds, the front passenger headlight failed on several occasions. An unknown dealer was made aware of the failure and repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made of the failure. The cause of the failure was not specified. The failure mileage was unknown.
My 2011 Dodge Charger had the po8 recall done in July of 2014 at about 48000 miles now at 94000 miles the same problem has occurred. I was told the fix will be $440. + tax as the problem is a voltage drop in the harness that was installed and not the original melted wiring that caused the po8 recall. I thought faulty wiring causing loss of headlights was a safety issue.
(ad dealer does not exist and pep boys info is inadequate) tl the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While the vehicle was stationary, the interior lighting dimmed and the contact noticed that the headlights were not illuminated. While driving various speeds at night, the headlights did not work at all. There was a complete loss of headlight functionality, which prompted the contact to have the vehicle inspected at pep boys in edgewater, new jersey. The contact stated that the low beam headlight bulbs were removed and reinserted because they were not the source of the failure. In addition, the fuses were inspected but the failure could not be determined directly. Pep boys located NHTSA campaign number: 14v101000 (exterior lighting) and referred the contact to the dealer. Lumberton Dodge in lumberton, new jersey was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall on the contact's VIN. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and agreed with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the driver's side headlight continued to fail after being replaced. In order for the headlights to operate correctly, the contact had to hit the headlight assembly with his hand. Upon starting the vehicle and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle abruptly jerked forward. The vehicle resumed normal operation after the initial jerk movement. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 77,000.
While driving on a main thouroughfare, the engine stalled. ( there was no warning that there was a problem, no warning lights were on. ) the electronic throttle control warning light came on, and then all elec power went out. Leaving the car without lights/flashers. Upon investigation, the alternator failed, shorting out the electrical system and killing/destroying the battery. The alternator shouldn't do this. I found that Dodge had a recall ( p-60) on their v-6 models for this very same issue. My car is a v-8. I was lucky I wasn't driving on a major highway or at night as the car had no way iof indicating distress to other drivers and the headlights didn't work. There is a clear defect in the alternators of these cars, its only a matter of time before someone is injured or killed.
The low beam headlights do not provide enough light for safe driving at night. The vehicle is not usable at night without operating the high beams. A state police officer checked the lights and commented they were the worst he has seen. This needs to be corrected!.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While driving approximately 30 mph, the passenger side headlight went out without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness melted and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was 68,224.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While driving approximately 40 mph, the low beam headlamps went out without warning. The contact stated that the lights worked intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the ballast needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v101000 (exterior lighting) because the headlights were high intensity discharge lights. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 133,000.
I have replaced 6 passenger side low beam wiring harnesses in the last 5 months due to the harness melting at the lightbulbs connector. Also replacing lightbulbs each time because once the harness melts they cannot be separated causing an added additional cost each time to the problem. I purchased a new lightbulb harness 3 weeks ago & had it installed due to my low beam going out yet again, & yesterday evening noticed it was out again!!!! after all the time and money spent, I'm getting tired of this and frankly it's extremely dangerous to know electrical stuff is burning up under your hood that should be safe! also it is against the law to have headlights out in my state georgia.
My low beam does not function. I googled my problem and an edmonds article identified a recall on police vehicles ( p08 ) and a subsequent recall on the rest of the model run. When I called the recall line given for fca I was told it did not apply to my problem. I was transferred to customer care who told me they would do nothing for me since the recalls were VIN specific. I asked if there was a repair I could accomplish and was told I would have to talk to a service representative. Until I have a remedy I will be driving around with one headlight. It seems ridiculous that the representative in recall can agree that I have the affected wiring in my vehicle, according to the build sheet for my VIN, but they will not make the repair called for in the recall on the defect.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that his vehicle's prior owner had a recall repair for the plug in part for the headlight that was melting. The issue recurred again the contact being the new owner. The contact called the dealer jim cogdill Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram 8544 kingston pike, knoxville, TN 37919 (865) 690-1611 who said it was nothing they could since repair were done the first time. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 45,000. Tf.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While driving various speeds, both low beam headlights became inoperable. The failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v101000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
My car's engine stalls without warning while driving. I had problems with this when I bought the car within the same week from a used car dealer. It now affects my headlights by making them flash on and off while driving. The car has been in and out of the shop for the past year and no one can seem to find the issue. There is a past time device installed which interfered with the security system. The dealership took out the security system and shortly thereafter the engine stalls began. Engine stalls occur while driving or stopped at traffic lights. It happens randomly but not often. The headlights happen everyday and is getting worse. The vehicle is becoming undrivable but no service tech can find the issue.

There is a recall for 2011 Dodge Chargers concerning a wiring harness that effects the low beam headlights. For some reason, only certain models were included in the recall. My model (r/t) is not included in the recall but I'm having the exact same problem that is listed in the recall. The recall number is po8.
While driving my 2011 rt awd Dodge Charger on the freeway, at approximately 65 mph, all of the lights (including, the dash lights, the radio, the headlights, I am unsure if the rear running lights were involved) shut off momentarily (3-5 seconds). During that time I noticed a change in the steering, the wheel became stiff like the power steering was off. I let my foot off of the gas pedal but did not brake so I'm not sure if the power brakes were affected, but assume they were. It sounds a lot like the alternator failure recall involving the 6 cylinder models with the 160 amp alternator. (I believe this is the same alternator that was used in the r/t 5. 7l hemi model) the power came back on and I drove the last 4-5 miles home without further incident. I am apprehensive about driving on the freeway now. Loosing the ability to steer and brake at freeway speed could end in an accident. As an added note, when I arrived home I checked to see if there was any smell (electrical) near the engine, there was not.
Takata recall on Saturday February 27 my car radio began to turn off and on the display screen it said battery saver mode. I assumed my battery needed to charge but later that night it started and within minutes it did it again but the auto shops were closed. I was unable to take it the next day and today Monday February 29 as I drove to work my radio turned off again. After work I decided to drive to the auto zone to get the battery checked. As I drove my screen began turning off and on, my a/c kept turning up and down but blowing hot air, as if the heater was on, and the display screen where it shows speed turned white and started blinking on and off, all the indexes on the dash went crazy and maybe two minutes later my car shut off while driving and I struggled to turn as the steering locked. I was lucky to be near the auto zone already and away from traffic. My son was with me it was a horrible experience. They were able to check it and it was the alternator. My headlight on the passenger side is out as well. I have heard of recalls with all these parts but apparently mine is not on the list. Same problems. This really needs to be addressed.
While driving my headlights, and parking lights flicker like a christmas tree or sometimes just go out, for a few seconds. I notice this happens in the cold weather especially.
Low beam headlight failure.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the vehicle's headlights, the driver's side rear door dome light actuator and the stereo failed to operate when the vehicle was started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was electrical shortage in the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000. Ah.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the low beam headlights randomly shorted out without warning. The contact had to apply the high beam headlights each time the failure recurred. The contact attempted the manual and automatic modes for the low beam head lights. The failure progressed to the driver side headlights and the passenger side headlights randomly shorted out. The dealer was notified of the failure and indicated that there was no manufacturer recall to address the repair. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v467000 (air bags, seat belts). The dealer scheduled a repair appointment. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Flickering headlights; suddenly go off for a period of a few seconds. Randomly flash on and off when vehicle is moving. Faulty tipm.
