Vehicle Speed Control Problems of Dodge Charger - part 1

I just had gotten my 2025 dayton r/t ev and I was on the highway in my first drive…. Enjoying the hell out of my experience. I had driven abt 12 miles. Even got a powershot in when I had a free right away in the highway and man… ?????? im so saddend to share that a car got over on my car and completely swiped the right side, then got over in front of me and slammed on their brakes…. All at 65 mph. Man… my car’s sensors didnt help at all and my airbags didnt deploy. My sensors never detected the car on the right getting close or that it slammed on brakes…. All my sensors are still green in the car, but my abs and other lights are on. Airbags didnt deploy crashing st 65 mph snd I stopped breathing for a few minutes the other driver snd passengers said. All I saw was the csr slam on brakes and then I woke up with 5 cops and 2 ems bombarding me with questions I had no clue to answer as my head was dizzy. Once I got to my senses they asked why my air bags didnt deploy and if it was a 2025 ev how did I get brake checked with security sensors and regen brakes. And I cant answer that only Dodge can… ?? man im devesated. My car is also still registered to Dodge… so when I went to the impound and shiwed them my info they told me I couldnt get the car out even with me showing them my welcoming emails apps etc. So now the car is stuck there. Racking up a crap ton of daily fees. Starting today. And I csnt even get the csr out if I tried. Now my payments. The storage fees. And to fix the vehicle as my deslership didnt add the car they switched me in because the one I signed for had problems to my policy. They left the one I never left the dealership with and I gave me the new one without asking or inquiring abt insurance for the new VIN… please help me guys. My lifes falling apart but im keeping my head up. . My right shouoder blade snd bsck is such a mess. Even after the hospital.

The car started to accelerate on it's own. I had to use the brake to slow down and stop.

Rented car fromean holdings llc. It was dosge Charger 2023 . While driving odometer was changing display between km /hr and miles distracting and resulted in speeding ticket and potential for higher risk of accident. Confusing 90 km or miles on investigation,both units on settings or custom it could change by unknowingly hitting left arrow and ok on steering wheel from miles to km viceversa. Equipment modificationsor program can remove confusion in us vehicle and reduce risk thankyou.

While driving, the car suddenly went into "turtle mode" in which the car slowed down by itself and numerous warnings on the dash board suddenly appear including "service electrical system". Since I am in the middle of driving on a fairly busy street I attempt to get the car moving again and step on the accelerator pedal. The car does increase in speed but now will not stop speeding up even when I let off the gas pedal. The speed of the vehicle keeps getting faster on it's own. I have to step on the brake and keep braking to get the car to slow down again. Then it starts to "turtle" again and slows to a crawl. It step on the gas again and again the car starts to accelerate on it's own even when I let off the gas pedal. I regained control using the brake alone to get the car to a safe place where I could park and turn the car off.

My abs, brake & esc lights all came on at the same time on my dash. Took my car to a reputable mechanic and they told me that my abs module needed to be replaced but they were no longer available. So now I have to drive my car and worry about my brakes locking up if I have to come to a sudden stop for some reason since the anti-lock brakes are not working.

Accelerator pedal was delayed coming back up when pressed. It is available for inspection. Because of this happening while I was parking the car, it collided with a tree about 20 feet in front of it. I’ve also noticed the car will sometimes accelerate on its own at speeds below 20 mph. I am taking the vehicle to a body shop on Monday to get fixed and be inspected.

When braking the engine goes into an uncontrolled fast idle that smokes the tires. Need to shut off engine immediately. This is intermittent. It is the 2nd time I had in to the dealer. Had it towed.

When I bought the car all brake lights were on. I took it to landers and they diagnosed the problem as a bad abs control module and another part connected to it. I'm unable to use cruise control and my traction control is off as well. The warning lights will occasionally go off but they are usually on. Also the manufacturer has discontinued the parts I need so I can't get them to fix the issues.

The abs module lights came on and is not functioning properly. I contacted the dealership and the part has been on back order for years. The abs light, traction, and brake light is on simultaneously. Subsequently my wheel is locked up causing my car to not move at all and brake pedal has no pressure.

Car still rolling after complicated efforts to exit in and out of vehicle as the car is still in gear it keeps on rolling. It takes tremendous effort and concentration of the possibility of danger whenever exiting in and out of my car. This is pretty scary.

Safety auto park function is still sticking even after the recall replacement- the dealer says the only do follow up repairs on recalls 2 years after the replacement. I understand the timeframe is 10 years not 2 but they will not honor.

While driving the car it automatically switched into parked while the gear shift was still positioned in park. The car will start and the air and everything else works fine, the gear shift will even move into drive. But when I push the gas it say �place car in p then shift to desired gear� again the car isn't running hot or has any other problems.

Motor mount blows out due to it being filled with hydraulic fluid causing issues with steering and braking. This happened while driving the car causing it to move around while driving any speed was on the freeway when it happened.

On my way to work, my abs and esc light lights flashed on the dash. Esc was in red and abs was in yellow. I pulled the car over, cut it off, and googled what it may be and all kinds of stuff came up in reference to what it could be. Once I started the engine again, it was gone. Let it be known, I travel on the interstate to go to work, so this was a very scary experience for me. I put my car in drive took off once I got up to 78, I put my cruise on and then about 10 mins later the lights came back on again. This time, it shut my cruise off and it's like someone pulled my steering wheel from me. I immediately pulled over again and cut the car off. I would really hate to be driving 75-79 mph and my steering goes out. Phoned Dodge and was told to bring it for the diagnostic test and they could tell me what it was. I went ahead on and continued to work and it did not do it again, even coming home. I just did not use the cruise. Time has passed and it did not come back on but now (twice) when I use my brakes, it feels like they are slipping. Not to mention as of 30 mins ago my lights have come back on. I was told it may be a sensor but it's hard to tell when the lights are not on. This car is my life. . My means to take care of myself and my family. I cannot financially give hundreds every time a light come on and then it goes off and nothing can be done. I was told my breaks and rotors were fine, yet I am still going to replace them. I just need this to be investigated further. . I am a true mopar fan and I love my Dodge, but if I or my family is in danger driving/riding in this car, myself and someone else need to know about it and see if something can be done. My gas pry just takes off and I can't stop it.

When starting my car the radio sometimes don't come on. I have to put the car in park shut off the car and restart it in order for the radio to come on. When driving and listening to the radio it goes in and out as if the dj is trying to block out profantiy but that's not the case. Also, when driving and I make a u-turn it feels as if the steering wheel is trying to lock up.

Car goes to limp mode it feels like it loses power. Steering wheel control s dont work and wipers stop when they want.

Tranmation. . Bad air light on all the time. . Bad transmission hard shift.

Power steering fails, making it difficult to maneuver hard turns. This has caused me to go off the road and nearly wreck/strike other cars. After much research this is a common issue in these cars. It occurs at city and highway speeds. It's hard to steer at high and low speeds.

Started shaking while driving from longview to kilgore texas and accelerated on its own when stopped on a stop light entering henderson texas. Had to turn off vehicle and restart but contined with the same problem. I had to return home because it felt unsafe.

My Dodge Charger 2013, is having problems shifting gears. I put in another transmission and it still experiencing the same problems. Gearshift also sticks, while I'm in motion. . . .

While driving freeway, highway, in a parking lot or at a stop light my cars electronics are shutting off and occasionally the engine shuts off and my steering locks up. Sounds like the p60 recall but my car VIN does not qualify but had all the same symptoms and is very dangerous. This car is my only way to work and it's been getting worse and I have been denied a fix on this. This is not safe at all.

My abs and stability control lights come on but they go off. But when driving they come on suddenly I dont have brakes for several crucial seconds when attempting to stop. Then the lights go off again.

Vehicle was at dealership (acadiana Dodge). After being there for nearly a month vehicle still hadn't been properly serviced. Passed words with service manager and they refused to complete service had to take vehicle to another dealership and pay another deductible. I purchased my vehicle from this dealership therefore I feel as if they should've made it an priority to make sure my vehicle was safe to drive and that I was satisfied as an customer. They also listed services completed on invoice that hadn't been rendered. U do not trust dealerships. I feel as if I was discriminated on because if my gender and race and was completely taken advantage of. Pathetic!.

When at a stop when going to accelerate to cross an intersection the car goes but suddenly feels as if it looses power really quick and slows down as if my foot is not on the gas and then there's a hard kick (or jerk) that the car does and it revs up as if it didn't slow down on its own and it goes. This has happened when trying to accelerate from a complete stop and while trying to gain speed on the highway.

Safety recall k08. Wireless ignition node key falls out of ignition, car keeps running, can't shut off unless disconnect battery. Car also shuts off by itself at times in the middle of traffic. Purchased car about two years ago. Dealer wants to charge $1250 to fix it because car not showing any open recalls. May have been fixed one time before we purchased it but it is doing exactly what recall problem is right now. Not sure if it was ever taken care of.

The adjustable gas and brake pedals move while the vehicle is motion without any type of activation by the driver, this causes acceleration or braking issues with the vehicle, when this occurs the pedals always move towards the driver not away, it occurs without warning and there is not apparent cause for it happening.

Vehicle on three isolated occasions over the past week has lunges forward while stopped at a red traffic light, another instance at a stop sign and as of today while waiting in line at a local coffee shop drive through. On each occasion my vehicle was at a complete stop for roughly a minute, my foot was on the brake and suddenly the vehicle began to self rev to 3500 rpm. On all occasions I had to immedialty place the vehicle in neutral to prevent catastrophic endangerment to myself, surrounding vehicles and persons. This condition is a detriment to he safe operation of the vehicle. However Dodge refuses to resolve the issue.

(pab) I have 2 recalls on my 2014 Dodge Charger that are serious safety concerns. The air may eject metal fragments into the interior of car which could cause serious injury or death upon collision. I attempted several time today to get assistance from Chrysler/Dodge with a loaner/rental car until my vehicle could be fixed. The air bags needed to resolve the safety issue will not be in until after Feb 26th causing me not to have adequate safe transportation to and from work and for my family. I live in a rural area with 2 lane highways and travel 49. 5 miles one way to work each day with deer and other animals constantly running into the road. I was told by Chrysler that I just need to be careful driving but was advised by insurance agent to not drive the vehicle until fixed as accidents happen unannounced and daily. Noone within the Chrysler organization was willing to assist me with a rental or loaner vehicle. I was called by an agent who set an appointment for Monday, Feb 18th @ 3:30 knowing that the air bag was not in stock. I am extremely upset and exhausted with the 4 + hours I spent on the phone today to not receive any resolution. I will never purchase from Chrysler again and really need a safe ride for myself, wife, 5 and 6 year olds, and 2 week old son to travel until this issue caused by Chrysler is resolved.
