Three problems related to manual transmission have been reported for the 1998 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The transmission has been overhauled two times, the consumer feels this is excessive and that the first repair should have lasted longer that 40,000 miles.
Reverse gear grinds badly. The teeth are being worn each time the vehicle is put into reverse.
Loud clunking noise while depressing accelerator-in manual trans. Grinds going into reverse. Cupholder defective this is my first new vehicle, and my last chrylser product, I am not happy with my Dodge!!.
