One problem related to steering gear box has been reported for the 2001 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While backing up heard a loud pop, and was unable to turn steering wheel. Had vehicle serviced, and was informed that steering shaft broke. Prior to incident,when going forward or reversing there will be a shutter.
