I was driving home when I turned the corner to proceed on the highway my car would not speed up. I tried several times and it was only reving up the engine like it was stuck. I was able to slowly gain speed but no more then 45 mph. When I would try to gain speed it would reach high rpms but not go anywhere but then it would jerk hard and the transmission was making loud clanking noises like gears shifting more then they should. The engine light came on which it goes off and on all the time. I have also been putting more oil in the car then I've ever had to do. It is using oil and the gas fumes are still horrible from my last complaint and I am not getting good gas mileage like usual.
Transmission has stopped working correctly, took it to be looked at and was told there was a hole in the transmission despite never having been damaged or hitting anything with the cat. Also told transmission mount needed replacing. Car makes awful noise when driving in low gears abs had trouble shifting, when in traffic sms having top go down speed and then up speed tee car stutters and clunks.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated and would not shift into reverse or drive. The contact's daughter was operating the vehicle and had to place it into neutral and coast the vehicle to the nearest parking lot. The contact also stated that the vehicle shook occasionally and made an unknown abnormal noise. Also, service transmission" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Takata recall - on 8/9/2016 I purchased this vehicle from a used car dealership. The gear shift/clutch skips, sticks, and jumps, whenever I move it from park to reverse or drive. This happens consistently. Also, the car was sold to me with a dry cable brake wire, which caused the vehicle to make a very loud noise. I reported these issues to the dealer that I purchased this vehicle from, they lubricated the brake cable wire, however, they said that this is normal for dual clutches to do this - skip, jump, and stick. Also, the vehicle hesitates to accelerate, and the dealer that I purchased the vehicle come said this is normal. This car had low mileage on it at the time of purchase (38,013), I have filed a claim against Dodge, because I think this is a major safety issue. Also, I discovered that the previous owner of this vehicle had experienced numerous problems since the time that he purchased this vehicle, which the vehicle had 0 miles on it at that time, and even he filed a claim against Dodge for the very same problems, plus for other component failures since the day that he purchased it.
The car won't start, service transmission indicator light, check engine light comes on, car makes loud noise from the engine. The car moves real slow and it doesn't shift gears and the prdn are all lit in red.
I was sitting at a red light while my 2013 Dodge Dart was in drive on August 14, 2014. The light turned green so the car in front of me went. I attempted to drive and the car acted as if it were in neutral. The rpm's of the car climbed to 6000 and the car went nowhere. I put my foot on the brake because the car was in drive and the rpm's were still high. The rpm's lowered and around 2500 rpm's the car lunged forward as if it caught gear. I drove the vehicle home and parked it. I drove it the next day to the dealership and the transmission was making a clicking noise when it shifted. The dealership kept the car for four days. They said they could not duplicate the issue. I picked my car up on August 18, 2014. I drove the car home. On August 19, 2014 I took the Dodge Dart back to the dealership because it sounded as if the clicking in and out when changing gears was happening. I left the car at the dealership once again because I do not feel safe driving a car with transmission issues.
2013 Dodge Dart. Consumer writes in regards to transmission malfunction, broken tire sensor and other vehicle problems. The consumer stated the transmission has been on going since, the first day the vehicle was purchased. Apparently, it was a factory default, that could not be fixed. The transmission down shifted into second gear, the clutch would stick, the gears were grinding when in reverse and a metallic noise was heard when down shifting in any gear the dealer replaced the second gear and synchronizers. The sun visor no longer stayed in its position.
I purchased a new Dart, 2013 limited 1. 4 turbo (manual) and when I say new, it had to be built because there were't any on the lots yet. I always felt the car lacked power but assumed it was just the way the car was. Getting out of 1st gear was really tough. Around 6k, after a long road trip, I started to hear a grinding noise when cutting the wheel and throttling in 1st gear or reverse, basically parallel parking. I brought the car to the dealer for its 1st major tune up and mentioned it and they said the didn't hear the noise ( I also mentioned the airbag light would not go away) the air bag light was gone but soon to return. At 9k, I brought the car in again for the same issues! air bag light gone (soon to return) but they said they didn't hear the noise. At 19k I was fuming and got them to go on a test drive with me and they heard they noise! they tried to say it was the CA intake I put in, but I assured them it wasn't and gave them the oem part to prove them wrong. Low and behold after a week they come back with "clutch bearings"! I got the car back and it feels like a- brand new car!! it's amazing! it has power, pick up, the clutch is much easier to work and no noise! I was startled by the power! this is the car I thought I was buying. I have no idea how much gas economy I've wasted after 19k, but I'm just glad to finally have this issue resolved! I really hope this helps those out there so if you have a manual shift and no power/pick-up out of 1st, insist they check the clutch bearings! now let's hope the airbag light doesn't come back on.
