general problems of the 2014 Dodge Dart - part 1

My Dart is having the exact braking issue that’s included in the 15v-800 (fca recall r63) recall, but my VIN isn’t included in the recall. I just had a local shop tell me that the brake booster is the problem. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost that my local shop will be charging to repair it.

Following up on case/tracking number 11734334 with further evidence that my VIN should be included in recall 15v-800. The auto shop investigated why my brake booster failed and it was specifically because of engine oil leaking onto the brake booster.

Vehicle is consuming oil, stalling, milage blinking, radio goes out, key switch will not turn to off, not going into park, oil pan bolts backing off, brakes shimmy over 55, list goes on, still no fix for the recall.

I have a few problems to be addressed because this car have a real safety issue. One issue been happening was car sometimes doesn’t start. This problem maybe stalling starting may delay in cases of personally emergency’s. Second, I got a recall letter having emissions issues? during this recall letter I receive my inspection sticker was due, then I got a rejected sticker because it did failed emissions as noticed. I tried getting issue resolve at few of the Dodge dealers nearby 3 places that’s the closest which were like almost an hour away, but there were a backlog of part not available? since those two issues I had and having time to try getting these recalls and issue resolved, dealer said not much of an issue and couldn’t find much issues? told the dealer I had recall and starter issues also with no check engine light on. The dealer did a diagnose on the car but couldn’t find actual problem but wanted to charge me on so much other things like spark plugs change before they can find the actual issue. I paid for the diagnose about 200+ out of pocket. Came to find out they diagnosed but now check engine light is on now and I looked under hood myself found they didn’t reconnect the engine coil to spark plug, maybe check and forget to reconnect? I reconnected myself and then no check engine lights. I had to check myself why can’t I start and then check fuse box under hood, found relay was damaged, shorted out reason why car had issues starting. This is after I changed the battery which was problem wasn’t the reason couldn’t start. I did my research on this deeply cause now I have a much bigger issue, which I was losing my brake lines. I almost got into an accident but luckily still have e-brakes. I believe it’s the brake line front driver started leaking now. On top of brake issue, no brake lights came on still. I checked for any recalls or any updates and found there were the same or typical issues? I did checked my car VIN # and it said “0 unrepaired on my vehicle”?.

After parking, I try to put the car into park and it will not go all the way to park. The key fob will not come out of the ignition, so the battery is still being used with the dashboard lights on. No alert or alarm lights show an issue. This has occurred many times. Finally, after waiting from 5-45 minutes, you can hear a click in the front area (gear area) and then I can turn the switch completely to off and remove the key fob. I went to a repair shop and they scanned for problems/codes on the reader. But nothing shows up. Thinking it may be the fob itself, I had the locksmith come and replace the fob and program it. It still continues to be an issue. Not every time I drive, but enough that it has been a safety concern as well if I’m away from home. There have also been many times that after cranking the car, disengaging the emergency brake and then placing it in reverse, the car tries to go into reverse direction like the gas pedal is being pressed and if my foot isn’t on the brake, it will quickly back up without even touching the gas pedal. ?? but I do have my foot applied to the brake pedal. I’m unsure if this is related to the recall for the brake cable thing that’s in effect now (without a remedy and awaiting notification from Dodge for repair). I do however feel that it is a safety issue. As it is an ongoing problem.

While driving to town, going approximately 35-40 mph, I went to slow down and pressed the brakes and the brake pedal went to the floor. To stop, I had to engage the emergency brake. I was almost hit by another vehicle and had to jump the curb to avoid collision and potential injury to myself and my family. This incident was very traumatic and potentially fatal to me and my family. I started checking on the recalls, and investigations, complaints for my 2014 Dodge Dart sd. I found other people had made complaints to you for the same issue. Total brake failure. At this time I have not had my car towed to the dealership for inspection and repairs. But I will update you on the details and provide you with the inspection report from the dealership as soon as they complete the inspection. There were no signs that the brakes were not working properly, no lights, no alarms , nothing. Only a pedal that went completely to the floor of my vehicle, causing immediate panic and confusion as to what was happening. It took a moment to realize that the brakes were on the floor and not engaging while oncoming traffic through the traffic light barely missed me. The parking lot that I was attempting to turn into luckily had no one pulling out or there would most certainly have been a collision between two or more vehicles. I used the emergency brake to get the vehicle stopped so that I didn’t crash into the storefront. Myself and my son were traumatized when we realized that how lucky we were to have avoided a potential life altering injury or death for ourselves or others.

Car was towed into dave's corner auto care 17600 virginia Ave hagerstown MD 21740. Customer complaint, had lost brake s ,pedel went all the way down to the floor. We found both front brake hose appeared to have ruptured with a parel split in both hoses close to the crimp of the hoses at the holder bracket area . 144,751 miles.

I have taken this car 5 times in the last 6 momths for recalls and the car is still not 100% it keeps telling me that brake safety system needs to be fix, dealer can not help with this matter. The mechanic told me that thise cars were defected and more than likely it will never get fix to 100% again. I need help with this matter as my som almost killed himself driving it like that.

There is oil coming from the brake booster vacuum pump into the brake booster. Caused the brake booster to fail. The recall stops in January but I think it should be extended.

Parking brake does not release caliper. Fault is in the caliper. The arm that the parking brake cable pulls does not return to the free position. I have replace 3 calipers on each side of the vehicle for the same issue. My wife had a 2015 Dodge Dart gt, I replaced 2 on hers before we sold it.

No any lock brakes, a b s lights on brake lights on traction control lights on and no cruise control.

I was driving down a very steep hill when I lost all brakes in my vehicle. I took it to the shop and the said that oil had gotten into my my brakes master cylinder and it caused the brakes to go out. Luckily I drive a standard and I was able to stop by down shifting and using the hand brake. It was fixed. Not even a full year ago it happened again. I was at a stop light and I heard a very loud pop again and my brake light came on and an instant message flashed across my dash that I didn’t even have time to read that’s how quickly it happened. I once again took it to the same shop and it was the same issue. I have had mopar in on this and reported it to them both times. I am afraid I will be driving my car and lose brakes at a high speed.

Car is experiencing a fluctuating brake pedal. At times, I will have to depress the brake down to the floor to get the vehicle to stop properly. Other times. . . It is fine and normal pedal pressure is present. Fluid level is fine. It is a bit disconcerting when you go to hit the brakes and the brake pedal goes to the floor before you have enough pressure to stop the car. My fear is that in a situation where I need to brake quickly, it could potentially cause an accident.

I was driving to work and not even a mile from my house when I was coming to a stop at a stop sign my 2014 Dodge Dart sxt stalled. When it stalled the battery light came on and I shut it off. I was able to get it to start the next try. Then 7 days later, I was driving no more than 30 seconds when I was coming to a stop at another stop sign and the car stalled again with the battery light coming on. I tried to start it again a few times but was not successful. I needed a jump. I drove it straight to a mechanic who ran a few tests on the car including checking the battery and charging system. He said everything looked good which I figured since I just changed the battery a year ago. I drove it home. 2 days later I was two blocks from my house when it stalled for a third time (mind you this has never happened before these occurrences). Again, I was coming to a stop and the car stalled, the battery light came on, and I needed to have a jump since I couldn't get it to start. After researching a bit, this seems to be a very common issue. A few people said that changing the oil or adding more did the trick so I checked my oil and it was fine plus I changed the oil 3 months ago so it isn't that. Most cases mentioned that this started to occur around the 50,000 mile mark, which is about where mine is. There really should be a recall on this car � it's a death trap! when the car stalls the power steering goes out as well so if this happened on the highway it would be very dangerous. This issue could really hurt someone and Dodge really needs to do something about it or find a solution. I took my car to the dealership in jenkintown, PA to get looked at and was informed of a few recalls but none that had to do with my issues. The fact that this is clearly a common issue is very concerning especially since there seems to be no clear solution.

I was coming up to a red light at an intersection. When coming to a stop, the brakes locked up and was unable to stop and rear ended another vehicle.

Vehicle made weird noises as soon as it was put in drive shortly after being turned on. Was driving on a 45 mph road when I could no longer accelerate after the first gear while turning into the freeway. Was forced to pull over and restart the vehicle which was able to put into first gear and after second gear began to rev up an no acceleration happened. Was unable to make it to work and tried to test it 'out again, but unfortunately its still failing. My vehicle is undrivable and now need to pay out of pocket for repairs of a recall that is still "pending". Mine & my children's safety was on the line. We were lucky it was not rush hour. I have attached the letter I received from the fac us llc stating this is a defected vehicle. Which is a letter in accordance with the ntmvsa.

Brake pedal is hard, making it difficult to stop. When pressed the pedal makes a hissing sound. The Dart was produced in February of 2014 one month after the end of the other brake recall.

My etc light will turn on if I take off too quickly to get up to speed with traffic. It has also started to turn off whenever I hit the brakes too abruptly. This is a huge safety issue and Dodge will not even look at it unless I pay them 125 dollars. I shouldn't have to pay for something that is clearly not my fault. It is a manufacturer issue that needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt or sued!.

In addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated after the crash. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

My 2014 Dodge Dart gt has had breaking issues over the past few weeks. When stopping the break petal will go all the way to the floorboard with no pressure at all. This issue has almost caused 3 accidents and the dealership says that they can not find an issue. This vehicle has no recalls to be repaired, and is very unsafe to drive. Dealership has been notified of the issue and no attempt at repair has been made.

The brake pedal sinks in and increases the braking distance. It happened every once in a while but recently it started happening more often and has gotten worse. The brake sinks in completely now and it does not brake unless u release it and push down again.

If I brake within 5 minutes of starting my vehicle, the next time I brake all of the dashboard lights will flash on, the battery light will stay on, and the car will stall. After waiting 5 to 10 minutes the car will start again. This happens within a week of when my car needs an oil change. This happened 10/24/2017, 10/25/2017, and 5/17/2018.

When driving and applying the brakes they will sometimes go soft I will have to reapply them for the brakes to go back to normal. I know there is a recall for this problem but my car is not included. I don't think I should have to pay for a problem that Dodge knows exists. What can I do to get my car added to the recall?.

When my car in the winter time warms up the fan doesn't work unless I open up my engine hood and it cools down now this can be anywhere from 2 minutes me running my car attendance doesn't matter when I turn on the air-conditioning it shakes my whole car I am told it is nothing I don't believe it my transmission when I press on the gas because very slow and jerks a whole car and emotion I told them about this since I had the car and my brakes on the first car that I had my brakes went out and it after I kept complaining about it for six weeks and then they traded me for the 2014 Dodge Dart my car has 22500 miles on it none of this should be happening when I take it to my Dodge dealership they think that it's nothing in pretty much tell me I got what I paid for I'd like to know if there's been other complaints about the engine transmission and the brakes not to mention a whole lot of other things that I don't even want to go into it says below to put down a date I'm going to put down a date for this is just an ongoing thing always.

Excessive rotor wear and disintegration on rear rotors.

Interior electrical problems from day 1. Random electrical components shut off and restart all the time. Also brakes became harder and harder to use, until they stopped working altogether in traffic, but started working again after collision.

The car has excessive rotor wear and intermittent braking issues. The dealer service center doesn't seem over concerned or suggest it might be covered under our premium extended warranty. The problem was noticed early in July and the vehicle is currently in the shop for other repairs. My wife states that the car sometimes has trouble stopping, and has to push the brakes harder to bring it to a stop when the braking problem occurs.

In affected vehicles, engine oil from the vacuum pump may seep into the brake booster, damaging a component within the brake booster.

Brakes don't seem to be working properly. I have contacted the local dealer and they stated they don't have the repair for the recall although they know it's a problem?.
