My car was stuck in drive. It would not shift into park. My father had to use the emergency switch under the hood to put it in park. A local dealership was contacted and parts have been ordered to fix the problem. The car has not been inspected. There were no warnings. I did not receive a recall notice in the mail.

When I got in my car to leave work, the shifter cable had broken. It would not shift to reverse, neutral, or drive. I was left stranded in the middle of the night with no one to pick me up. Also, if it had broken while I was driving I wouldn’t have been able to put it in park and it would have potentially rolled into another car or person. At this time it has been 6 months since the recall and Dodge has no remedy for it. The dealership looked at it and did confirm that the shifter cable had broken.

The vehicle's shifter cable brushing was what was originally recalled. The dealership I visited informed me that the vehicle still has concerns about not being able to recognize when the car is in park. The transmission shift cable on the vehicle may fail to maintain its connection to the transmission. According to the manufacturer’s safety notice, this defect results in an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of park function. The manufacturer has acknowledged that this condition can lead to unintended vehicle movement in an unintended direction, even when the shifter indicates the vehicle is in "park. " this creates an immediate risk of a vehicle crash without prior warning and poses a severe threat of injury to the driver, passengers, and bystanders outside the vehicle. The manufacturer issued the safety notice on March 8, 2026, but stated that a remedy is "not currently available. " as of may 12, 2026 (over 60 days later), the manufacturer has failed to provide a timeline for the repair, failed to respond to formal written inquiries regarding a safety remedy, and has not provided interim safety measures or alternative transportation. The vehicle remains an active safety hazard that cannot be safely parked or operated.

I am reporting a serious safety concern involving a 2016 Dodge Dart gt (VIN: [xxx] ). The selling dealership represented the vehicle as accident?free and undamaged, but after delivery I discovered significant, undisclosed front?end and structural issues. The affected components include the front bumper, radiator support area, subframe, suspension, brakes, and cooling system. These components are available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because the vehicle shows clear evidence of prior impact and improper or incomplete repairs. A mechanic’s inspection documented a salvage?yard front subframe installed for unknown reasons, a leaking lower radiator hose, rusted struts and shocks, suspension bushings beginning to fail, a bent left?rear lower control arm, and brakes that “feel like they don’t want to stop the vehicle,” possibly due to rusted rotors and pads. The mechanic also noted alarming rust inside the frame and stated that the rust alone would justify returning the vehicle. All four tires show high/low spots consistent with belt separation, creating a wobble at speed. These conditions create multiple safety hazards: compromised crash protection, potential airbag sensor misalignment from prior front?end impact, cooling?system failure risk, loss of braking ability, suspension instability, and possible loss of control due to tire belt separation. The carfax also shows a radiator replacement shortly before sale, strongly suggesting a front?end collision that was not disclosed. The problem was confirmed by an independent service center. The manufacturer, police, and insurance have not yet inspected the vehicle. No warning lamps appeared prior to discovering these issues; the defects were concealed and unknown to me at purchase. I unknowingly operated a vehicle with compromised structural integrity and multiple safety?critical defects, placing me and other drivers at risk. I received a safety recall on my vehicle in October, and it is now almost February and there is still no remedy. This safety recall is the transmission shift cable a0c. The recall states: "this can cause an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of park function and/or vehicle movement in an unintended direction which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle. " this is putting myself and others at risk. The dealership has confirmed the issue and has no remedy. They informed me to wait for the remedy. My vehicle has been developing the symptoms of this recall for about 3 years. The key gets stuck in the ignition, the car does not go into or out of park easily, it sticks. After I park my car rolls backwards. My vehicle does not feel like its in park. The shifter has become stiff and does not want to move. The form says " do not drive" on mopars official recall. I do not feel safe driving this car.

I will be driving and there’s a click and suddenly no power just goes dead.

When I want to turn off my car, the key gets stuck in acc and does not turn to off. The key wont turn all the way off gets stuck, even though I am in parking. I saw that their is a recall for this and their is no answer for this yet or remedy I mean. But it has been happening to my car every single day, every single time I drive and I am very scared for my safety. Especially when having kids or other people in the car with me.

The transmission shift cable detached from the transmission, causing the gear shifter to move freely without actually changing gears. When this happened, the vehicle could not be shifted into park or drive and became unsafe to operate. This created a serious safety risk because the car could roll or move unexpectedly even when the shifter was in park. The vehicle is affected by recall a0c / NHTSA 25v-674 for this exact issue. The failure has not yet been repaired because local dealers have been unresponsive. The problem can be reproduced by simply moving the shifter, as the cable will disconnect again. No warning lights appeared before the failure. The issue was visually confirmed by observing the detached cable under the hood.

The shifter cable on my car has completely worn out so the gear box no longer shifts correctly. I took it to my local dealership, watsonville Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram, in watsonville California and they said the remedy is not yet available. They also are trying to charge me $800 something dollars for a “temporary fix” and I can maybe apply for reimbursement.

Unknown. When trying to switch gears from reverse to drive, the gear got stuck in neutral. My gear shift is able to move when pressing on the brake as it is intended to do. However, the actual gear does not change and on the dashboard and the light display from the gear shift still shows "n" for neutral. My brake lights are still working and the solenoid still clicks when pressing on brake. I was able to shift gears manually from underneath the hood. I did a complete complete reset and still the gears do not change. My e-brake is on and the car has not moved due to not being able to shift gears. This has never happened before and there have been no problems with my steering wheel, brakes or gear shift before. There were/are no warning messages or displays. Even though, there is a recall, dealerships have told me that there is nothing wrong with my car and there are no recalls at all. I am currently looking for a mobile mechanic since my car is unable to move. My car has not been seen yet.

My car had a recall which was repaired with a previous owner in 2020 an the defeat is still active an the dealership is refusing to honor the service due to it being done I am currently homeless an currently rely on my car for basic transportation my car is stuck in reverse the key is stuck in the ignition an the power is draining in my batters causing more issues due to the issues related to the call that was repaired an now refract is still active.

Shifting shaft linkage shaft bushing shaft stuck in park won’t shift anymore shaft moves but won’t come out of park.

The transmission and powertrain were inspected due to concerns about the car possibly jolting in a different direction and causing an accident. The issue has been confirmed by the dealer, and the vehicle has been inspected by both the dealer and a mechanic. The car does indeed jolt unexpectedly.

Recall number a0c and NHTSA recall number 25v-674 has yet been addressed by the dealer or manufacturer. I contacted the dealership back in October of 2025 when learning about the recall at which time I was told there was no remedy as of yet. We are now in April of 2026 and there remains no remedy for a recall that imposes a risk of losing control of the vehicle's movement which ultimately will and can lead to a crash.

Open recall for transmission shift cable failure since October 9, 2025 with no available fix/parts yet. This is my 20 year old's vehicle and we feel this is extremely unsafe and are requesting a manufacturer buy-back immediately.

My shifter cable snapped while driving home from work. Found out about the recall trying to get it fixed.

I received a letter notification of this recall a0c/NHTSA 25v-674, which applies to my vehicle. Dodge stated that the remedy for this condition is not currently available. The vehicle has not been inspected after the recall was issued. There were no warnings, messages or any symptoms.

There was a safely recall sent on oct 9, 2025 and there’s no remedy by manufacturer and I am unsure of what to do now ?.

Shifter cable was replaced for recall in February of 2025 and it’s messed up again. .

I was at a intersection when the incident occurred. I was unable to shift it into gear. I was able to roll it into the gas station at the intersection. Bushing on tension rod disintegrated. Causing the transmission to be stuck in neutral.

I had the recall for the transmission bushing shifter cable fixed at greenway Dodge. Clearly still a defective piece. It broke again… they’re trying to charge me $850+ to fix it again. I can’t afford that for this car that’s been nothing but a lemon. Why should I have to pay for a repeatedly defective part? it’s wrong.

On 9/25/2025, I was on my way home from the grocery store, stopped off in a different section of my condo complex to check the mail. I attempted to place the car in park. The handle moved forward but the gears did not shift. I still had my foot on the brakes and put on my the emergency brakes on. I contacted aaa, paid the $100 so aaa could tow the car in front of my property. It was still very hot outside and I did not want the food I just brought to spoil so I took most of the perishable food that I could carry to my home. Once I put all the food away in the fridge the porter knocked on my door telling me that I could not leave my car near the mailboxes. I let him know I had already contacted aaa and was waiting for them to arrive. Well the porter immediately had my car towed before aaa could get there. My car was towed and is still in the tow company’s possession.

Shift gear assembly failure.

This complaint is in regard to the most recent recall on Dodge Darts, the transmission shifter cable detachment. I was in the process of parking my car on an incline. All was normal. I had been out running errands, driving, and shifting for a few hours. The gear shift felt disconnected from anything; there was no effort required to move it back and forth in the shift. The car was not recognizing any movement I was making with the gear shift, and would not lock into place for any gear. I had to hold my foot on the brake even while "shifted" into park; otherwise, I would drift backwards into the car behind me, and potentially into a ditch/creek. I had to call for help to stabilize my car, with bricks behind the tires and a 25-pound weight left on the brake so I could exit the vehicle. We had to lift and open the gear shift to the compartment underneath and manually shift the car into park. During this, we unfortunately broke something under the gear shift. This happened on a Sunday evening (July 20), so no repair person was available to help me. Chrysler refused to offer any assistance or information about the last recall of this issue, and advised me to call the dealership that did the repair (they would not tell me which one I went to, just that it was marked complete in 2019). I know I went to a shorkey location, but not which. I called three jim shorkey Dodge locations in pittsburgh, and they all refused responsibility. I was told to call Chrysler again. I did not, because why would I? a local mechanic was able to acquire the part from Dodge to "fix" the issue. However, he had to override the safety mechanism that causes the car to recognize what gear the car is in before it can turn off. So now I have to drive around, hoping I don't accidentally press the power button and shut off my car on the road. The car was inspected by a representative from progressive. They determined a mechanical failure and denied my claim for coverage. This is bs.

Today, 7-12-25, I tried to place my 2016 Dodge Dart in park. The car would not go into park, and I could not get the key out after trying to turn it off. The shifter would not go into drive, and was stuck in reverse. I had the car repaired for a recall on the shifter cable bushing at my local Dodge dealer a few years back, and now it's doing the same thing it was prior to the recall. Car is now stuck in a parking lot.

Vehicle randomly stopped working 9 days after purchase. After a diagnose, it is the breaking of the shifter cable when trying to switch to drive.

I purchased it and within two months the cars breaks were slow to respond, or would lock up and the parking break did not work. The car suddenly shifts into neutral while driving on the high way and surface roads, loses power and has nearly caused multiple accidents. Other times when I try to shift, it does not respond. Car stalls going up hill and at stoplights. I took it for diagnostics twice and both places stated that the symptoms are mirroring the earlier recall problems. One said the spark plugs are ruined from some other issue. When I called the manufacturer they stated that it had previously been repaired on recall. I contacted the dealership where I purchased it and they told me the car was sold "as is". The problems only got worse. The battery would go dead all of the time. I replaced it and still had the same problem. Windows wouldn't go up and down properly, sun roof would not open and close. Every time I used the blinker to turn right, the windshield wipers would turn on. Now they will not turn off at all. It also turned out that the tires had dry rot. When I went in for an oil change I was told that oil was back flowing into a part of the car that it shouldn't. Now I have to pay $300+ plus towing to have the dealership do a diagnostic so that I can ask the manufacturer to cover the cost of repairing it (again) because the first repairs done when the previous owner had it, did not work. The car is a death trap. At this point the car has been sitting until I can afford repairs because ive been scared to death to drive it. Too many near misses, once with a semi, when the car shut down while doing almost 70mph. It should be illegal to sell this car to anyone new or used. I have an appointment at the Dodge/Chrysler dealership for repairs, but since it was supposedly "fixed" previously, I have very little faith that it can or will be properly repaired.

Unable to remove key from ignition have to wiggle the gear selector to be able to remove key.

Dodge has a recall u87 over pcm not letting car to start and many other problems I have a 2015 Dodge Dart sxt 2. 4l multiair with same engine as the 2017 jeeps and others stated in the u87 recall and my pcm is going out my car will start intermittently and when the car won't start the pcm feels hot why are they not replacing the pcm in the 2015 and only 2017 and up when I'm having the same issue as described in the u87 recall, I need help with getting this fixed my car has same engine as the 2017 and up stated in recall and my car is having same problem as stated in the recall Dodge needs to be accountable and fix all the pcm in every year that has the same engines as the 2017 cars in the recall it will cost me thousands to do myself for somthing Dodge knew there was a problem with or they wouldn't of put a recall out for it but my year isn't in the new recall for the pcm replacement please help this is my only transportation. There was a w20 recall done on my car for a pcm update but didn't help anything and this recall was supposed to be for oil consumption either the update messed up my pcm or there is a bigger issue Dodge isn't telling us that's wrong with pcm and come to find out the 2017 cars with same engine as my 2015 Dodge Dart has a pcm replacement for same problems I'm having with my 2015 Dodge Dart.

I have multiple recall notices on my Dodge Dart. I have contacted mopar who referred me to a local Dodge dealership. I have contacted the dealership several times. Each time they communicate they will look for where to get the repair part(s) from and contact me back. They have never called back, not any of the dealerships I have contacted. I don't know who I need to contact, and I fear for safety for myself and anyone around my vehicle due to the nature of the recalls. I'm unsure how to proceed moving forward as there seems to be a runaround going on and my car repairs still have yet to be completed or even scheduled.

My car keeps going into neutral when I’m going down the interstate or highway with my eight-year-old in the car and I have to pull over and restart the car for it to go anywhere. There’s no warning it just does it. It says there are no unrepaired recalls on my car I bought it used, but when I looked up the recalls for the car, there were five and I know at least three of them are wrong with my car. Is there anything I can do to get these fixed? I am a single mother and I cannot afford to have it fixed. Is there anyone who can help me? to recall, I’m pretty sure it is wrong. On other Dodge Darts was the transmission control module or something like that and my car is doing the same thing only it’s saying I don’t have a recall for my car. This happens on a daily basis.

The shifter cable for this car once again came undone. I did the first original recall a couple a years ago and once again the same issue is happening.

The vehicle’s gear shifter intermittently locks in the park position, preventing the key fob from being removed from the ignition. When this occurs, the shifter must be manually wiggled back and forth to release the key. This malfunction poses a potential safety risk, as the driver may be delayed in exiting or securing the vehicle in certain situations. The issue occurs intermittently and has not yet been inspected by a dealer or service center. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the malfunction.

The recall was for the pcm, which is the powertrain control module. Dodge reprogrammed it, but now my mechanic is telling me it actually needs to be replaced—and I’m being charged for that. I don’t believe the recall resolved the core issue, and I’m concerned the repair wasn’t thorough enough. I’d like to request that my case be escalated or reviewed for possible goodwill assistance or reimbursement. I have the VIN and documentation if you need it.
