1 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 12/14/2019

6 speed manual clutch gave kick back behavior where the shifter jumped out of gear while driving. This happened 3 times in one day while driving. Once turning onto a busy rd at green light, after changing gears getting into highway the next, 3rd was as I was driving on side road after turning onto it a minute prior. Already up to speed. Then within a few days (4) the clutch went out completely with no usability. Now it is stuck. Large repair costs. I have been quoted up to 4,000$ for all repairs because these cars have a repeated history of this happening with no aftermarket parts that would be more solid to replace it with. Oee parts have to be defective! I financed this vehicle late August 2019 and mid December this occurred quickly and is an absolute loss at the moment.

I was driving on a busy highway. Have a manual transmission. Rpms started going up and down, like I was revving the engine, but was not pushing in gas pedal. Put clutch in to get off an exit, and the clutch stuck to the floor and the car would not go into gear. Left on very busy highway with a child!.

4 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 08/24/2018

I just purchased this vehicle a week and a half ago and the clutch pedal intermittently feels strange like it's sticking in some way. Been driving manual cars my entire driving career (20 years). I have never felt my clutch pedal do this on any car before! upon looking online it seems this is a common and potentially dangerous issue! I love the car when the clutch pedal feels smooth and normal, however it is very alarming when it happens while driving! since this seems to be a common problem, I truly hope Chrysler will issue a recall as it seems like many people have had expensive issues with the master cylinder at as little as 22,000 miles. . . It happens sometimes while starting the car. . . Mostly happens randomly while driving however.

5 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 01/10/2017

Have a 2013 Dart sxt 1. 4t manual. I'm going on 2 years with the car, bought it with just under 20k. Since buying it, I've had spouts of check engine light for underboost occasionally come on and go back off soon after, never much of a bother since it never lasted long enough to get the dealership to catch it while the light was still on. Yesterday, 1/10/17, my car was driving normally until I tried to get on the highway, at about 40 mph the engine started stuttering pretty bad, but I didn't think anything of it because no lights were coming on on the dash. Until I hit 50. Suddenly the ce light started flashing, the car wouldn't go above 50 mph and the rpms wouldn't even hit 4000. Pulled over, turned the car off and back on, the ce light was back off. Revved the engine for a bit, no issues. As soon as I attempted to accelerate again, the ce light started flashing and then stayed solid this time. Called a tow truck to tow the car to the dealer since clearly it was dangerous to be driving. Once I got to the dealer, started the car up to move it into a parking spot and suddenly neither the tachometer or speedometer were working. They were working normally on the side of the highway. Its like the entire powertrain decided to have a total meltdown all at once. This is not acceptable for a 3 year old car with less than 50k miles on it. I have changed the intake on the car and the hot/cold side piping for the intercooler, but they have been on the car for over a year and I've been sure to regularly check connections and keep them well maintained to prevent any issues, there's no way they are the cause of the powertrain suddenly having a meltdown.

6 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 05/24/2016

This car is 3 years old and we have had to replace the body control module (bcm), and transmission control module (tcm). The check engine light is still on and Dodge is still trying to find out what is wrong with it. Before replacing the body control module the car wasn't starting so the battery was replaced, it turns out the bcm was staying on and drawing power form the battery while the car was off. We were constantly having to jump the car to get it started. After that the transmission started acting funny it would shift hard, shift into low gears while driving on the freeway. Also when first started or stopped at a traffic intersections the vehicle would shift into 4th gear on its own unless in sport mode and done manually. This makes it accelerate very slowly which is dangerous especially when pulling out into an intersection. After replacing the tcm the issue with the transmission is still occurring, it is currently being looked and the cause is still unknown.

7 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 12/01/2015

The manual transmission does not allow you to shift into certain gears after starting the car. This can occur for a while after the initial ignition, often not allowing the vehicle to move through intersections safely. I sometimes cannot shift into 1st gear after stopping at a stoplight, and sometimes cannot shift into second gear, if I am able to get it into 1st gear. Occasionally, if I leave the transmission in 1st gear or reverse when parked, and I start the vehicle, even though the clutch pedal is fully depressed, the transmission is engaged, and causes the vehicle to move on ignition. Applying the brakes makes stalls the vehicle. I occasionally have to pump the brakes, and/or clutch pedal several times in order to allow the transmission to change gears properly. I have read several posts on forums indicating that it is due to a defective master and/or slave cylinder. Dodge has acknowledged the issue by extending the length of the warranty on this part, but I believe that this should be a safety recall. It's very frightening when you are trying to move out of an intersection, and there is oncoming traffic, and you cannot get the car into the next gear. This started happening about a year ago, and seems to be increasing in occurrence.

8 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 01/20/2015

Purchased car brand new. Have driven manual transmissions for 40 years and have never ruined a clutch or any part of the transmission. I was driving all the road and going up a hill and attempted to downshift to get up the steep hill. The clutch went down to the floor and the shifter wouldn't allow any shifting. I veered off the road and call tow truck. I had car towed to landmark Dodge, morrow, GA 30260, and after weeks they say the entire transmission was burned up and broken into pieces?? well, 1st week they ordered wrong part, 3 week they said they had to remove the entire transmission and today (4 weeks later) they said they feel it is a case of customer abuse and want 1500. 00 to repair. I told them up front a certified technician looked at the issue prior to me having pulled to them and he said, "this is defective". He also printed out info from the internet of other Dodge Dart 2012-2013 with the very same issue. Clutch to the floor, and even a class action suit. I will have to get it fixed (but not at landmark). Julie @1-800-992-1997 Chrysler, took howard morris' , service director, landmark Dodge, word that it looks like I burned up the entire transmission and that I would need to have it towed, at my expense, to another Dodge dealer because landmark wasn't certified to work on Dodges. I keep thinking about the dump truck right on my rear who nearly ran me off the road due to loss in shifting power. This could have been lethal and others are having the same problem.

9 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

The vehicle has a manual transmission. My vehicle revs when attempting to shift it. The clutch will be completely up and the vehicle will still rev as if it is engaged. At this point there is nothing that can be done until it stops revving. It also grinds and clatters when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear. Very rough shifting and sometimes experience a burning smell after its driven.

10 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart
