Failure Date: 05/19/2014

I was crossing thru a unpaved road which was a little bumpy rocking my truck from left to right an my driver seat slid forward an back in which I heard a snap an my seat dropped in the back after sliding forward an back a couple times. Now my seat is at an odd position and when I come to a stop or drive off from a stop my seat slides back or forward. Very uncomfortable.

Drivers side electric seat moves back when acclerating and goes forward when brakeing feels like your going to go through the windsheild.

3 Seats problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2012

Driving along when seat track "broke" seat now travels back and forward while driving, braking or accellerating. . . Causing my body to be pushed forward or backward. Could cause an accident within itself. Something needs to be done about this situation. My Durango only has around 87,000 original miles an extremely well taken care of truck but with this problem, I fill like I am driving a broke down peice of sh. . And I love my truck. Seems like I have been lucky for mine to have lasted as long.

Failure Date: 05/22/2010

The driver's seat started to travel when braking. Now the seat will not stay in an adjusted position. I am concerned because the seat will travel in the event of a crash.

6 Seats problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2008

The drivers seat rocks back and forth as if it is loose if not in the fully forward or fully rearward positions. I have seen on the internet from other Dodge owners that it is due to the seat rails (or tracks) being cracked.

7 Seats problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2008

The contact owns a 1998 Dodge Durango. Whenever the contact depresses the brake pedal, the driver's seat suddenly jerks forward. She did not notice any differences beforehand. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 200,000.

8 Seats problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2008

98 Dodge Durango drive side seat failure. The drive side seat rocks unless in the extreme forward/back positions. Dealers what $500-$900 to fix this common problem that they claim they never heard of. This is an obvious design flaw that happens in a wide rang of Dodge suvs/trucks. If I hit the brakes my seat slides forward causing me to unitentionally "slam" on my brakes.

9 Seats problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2007

98 Dodge Durango driver seat failure. The driver seat rocks unless in the extreme forward/back positions. This is an obvious design flaw that happens in a wide rang of Dodge suvs/trucks. If I hit the brakes my seat slides forward causing me to unintentionally "slam" on my brakes.

10 Seats problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2007

The drivers seat a slides back and forth and feels as if it is going to come off of the tracks. I see on the internet that this is a common problem, however, I talked with Dodge customer care and they say they have never heard of it. This is a major safety issue if the seat bracket fails.

11 Seats problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2006

I have a 98 Durango and for the last 4 yrs the seat has moved about an inch back and forth. Now they say it wont pass inspection.

12 Seats problem

Failure Date: 05/17/2004

The driver's seat loosened from the seat tracks, causing the seat to move back and forth. The dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

13 Seats problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2001

The lumbar support lever was activated by my husband and when activated, it sticks out beyond the driver's seat about 1/2 inch. When I got into the vehicle, my lower back hit the lever resulting in two bulged discs and a tear in the l4-s1 region on the right side. The severity of the injury has resulted in approximately $10,000 of medical bills. This is obviously a design flaw in that a lumbar support lever should not be in the pathway of one's back when entering the vehicle.

14 Seats problem

Failure Date: 06/03/1999

Front driver's seat is held down with a plastic piece. Now seats rocks to the back. Also, with sudden acceleration front seat tilts.

15 Seats problem

Failure Date: 02/01/1999

Noticed driver's seat rocking force and aft during acceleration and stopping. Took vehicle to dealer for repair. Dealer said parts on order. Parts never arrived. Dealer now claims situation normal. Failure of this component during operation will result in loss of vehicle control leading to possible injury and/or damage.
