April l. Ray(spouse), told me of noise coming from the front end of the vehicle, around wheel wells, before I could have this looked into, today(December 19, 2004), my wife was driving down woodrow kay rd. In rockmart GA. , as she drove up a slight incline that bared to the left, she noticed the driver side wheel started to wobble, before she could get over the hill, and clear of any traffic, she heard a snap or pop sound, then the driver side wheel bowed out and she lost control of the vehicle. Which in an instant threw her across the opposite lane and into the embankment on the other side of the road. After hitting the embankment the vehicle came to a rest on the driver side bumper, the driver side wheel was completely bowed towards the rear of the vehicle. This is a current insurance claim, but we are waiting to hear of the results, which also resulted in two false citations for her driving ability.

While traveling at highway speed, the truck suddenly veered to the right and struck a retaining wall and went into a spin. There were no other cars on the road and the weather was clear. Upon exiting the vehicle the passenger side front wheel and suspension were separated form the truck. Had the tire or wheel or suspension failed prior to the accident or were they damaged after impact with the barrier, I am unable to tell. We have no explanation for the sudden loss of control of the vehicle. The truck is currently in possession of allstate insurance agency and VIN is 1b4hs28n5yf266693. Ea03-023.

21 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2000

Problems controlling steering, when hitting very small bumps on the highway. Car tends to jump and skip hard to the left or right, causing the driver to be forced to compensate hard on the steering wheel to keep the back end of the car from fishtailing. Problem keeps knocking car out of alignment & has now caused damage to both front tires. Have been advised by independant mechanics, that the wrong road conditions (rain, snow etc. . . ) could very likely create a fatal outcome if this problem is not corrected.

22 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/09/1999

Vehicle has been in to the shop repeatedly for front end alignment problems. Currently working with attorney under California lemon law. Vehicle had two front defective tires that were replaced by goodyear. The front end has been confirmed by two different dealerships as being out of aligment five times now. Vehicle initially pulled hard to the right at freeway speeds. After supposedly being repaired by the dealership, the vehicle started pulling hard to the left at freeway speeds. I feel that there is a safety issue because you have to significantly compensate "the pull" by holding the steering wheel at an angle. The pull of the vehicle is damaging the front tire that are currently on the vehicle. (tiresize: 31-1050r15)( dot number: tire size: 31-1050r15 ).

23 Front Suspension problem

Vehicle fishtails when riding over ripples and bad roads. Dealer rotated/balanced tires and aligned car. Still makes you feel you are going to loose control on bad roads. Tv program showed an account of a problem similiar to mine which dealt with a steering and stabilization defect. We nearly lost control when pulling an RV recently. Dealer didn't know what else to do about problem at the time.

24 Front Suspension problem

While driving consumer heard a noise indicating that something was loose in the front end. This would also occur when a bump was hit and driving on a gravel road.

25 Front Suspension problem

When the vehicle hit a bump it jerked out of control. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic who indicated that the front end needed to be replaced. The consumer stated the vehicle pulled to the left and the right. The vehicle has worn out three tires within the last 14 months.
