1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2025

Fuel spills out when you fill it up. I read there were safety recalls due to this issue for 2006 Dodge Durango's but a recall isn't appearing for my vehicle. When filling it fills fine until almost a full tank. Once it reaches full tank the gas pump clicks off then a gush of fuel spills out of my car. I bought it last year and it does it every time we put a full tank in it if you don't catch it and manually shut pump off before full. Bought the car used.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2023

Every time filling full of gas, once full it sprays gas into the air for 2 to 3 seconds. It's evident this is a manufacturing defect as multiple self reported incidents can be found online throught the years. This is vreating a significant fire risk as other vehicles can be pulling up near by. Date provided isn't accurate as this is constant if we let it fill.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2021

Fuel erupts from fuel filler neck every time the fuel tank is filled, even when filling very slowly. A half-gallon or more of fuel ends up violently spitting out of the filler neck onto people in the vicinity, onto the side of the car, and onto the ground—every time the vehicle is refueled. Many owners apparently have the exact same issue, judging by the large number of complaints on Durango and Dodge forums. Apparently, there was a recall covering model-year 2005 Durangos for this issue, but the issue is present on our 2006 Durango. This is a clear safety defect that could easily create an extremely dangerous situation.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2021

Several repairs for sensor labor: check and advise the check engine light is on and the vehicle wants to stall when accelerating. Vehicle loses engine power but has not stalled completely (low/reverse solenoid circuit. Test and replaced transmission solenoid assembly; cost: $819. 65, prior to that $1200. 00, $546. 00. I'm unemployed and the truck costing more repairs. The plastic on radiator has cracked all the way cross and leaks coolant, stop radiator leak encourage by dealership and to seal leak or replace radiator (it's upsetting and its cost me thousands of dollars, my last two SUV was Dodge Durango and I love them but this one has given the most problems and cost me financially. Plus, when I purchased the dealership replace windshield because of flaw in glass and it wasn't repaired correctly and oakland county sheriff said my truck was dangerous, but you said it was fine. Plus, the wrapped chrome grill has been replaced twice because it bubbles up. Information listed at your dealerships: purchased at milosch's palace Chrysler Jeep Dodge (work performed) 3800 s. 5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2021

Tipm / pcm (computer modules) these items are affecting most Dodge vehicles that is listed already for recalls only in 2011-2013 and one earlier. This is happening in a lot of Dodges, mine is 1d4hb48n76f103011 (2006 Durango 4. 7 slt). They will stop running anywhere, it shuts the fuel pump off where the vehicles no longer gets gas and you have a full tank. It is only a computerized dealer fix. Their recall for some vehicles will fix my 2006 also by the simply relay bypass that they are installing.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2019

When fueling the vehicle the pump shuts off then fuel spews out. This happens every time it is fueled. The vehicle is stationary. This is a fire hazzard as well as a pollution problem. It's my understanding the 2005 model was recalled for this problem. I recently purchased this vehicle used with 195000 miles. I also see where several other people are having this same issue on your website.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. While refueling the vehicle at a fuel station, the pump shut off and the fuel rapidly spewed out all over the ground. The contact stated that the failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2019

Every time I go to fill my 2006 Dodge Durango slt it will fill and the gas pump will stop and turn off but then the truck will spit fuel back out. The vehicle was in park and a gas station everytime. Please email me @ vannedwin@gmail. Com or call @ 2076562049.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2019

When filling up on gasoline it will over flow out of the vehicle through the filler tube. Similar to the other recall possibly the same issue that affected 2005 models.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2018

Fuel overflows when filling up.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2018

Fuel spills out when fueling every time.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

Leaking massive fuel on fill ups each time. Done this forever. Rusting in area where happens badly.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2018

During fuel up it over spills out a lot of fuel each time at the gas station. I see there were recalls for the prior years of the same vehicle. This problem has identical symptoms.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2018

Hil adding gas, the fuel overflow does not shut off when full. Gas spills out of the tube and runs down the side of the Durango and onto the ground. There is considerable rusting under the fill tube. I purchased thsi vehicle 4 years ago and it has always done this. The rust area had been repaired prior to me purchasing so I am assuming this has happened before my ownership as well.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2017

My car has a very bad hesitation upon acceleration and shutters when the pedal is to the floor. The code I'm getting is a dealer part only and I've found that 4 out of five Dodge Durango or Chrysler aspen have had this issue. This has been a very expensive trial and error process. My sister who owns a 2008 aspen just replaced the same part I need to replace for almost 1,000 dollars and that's not the only time I've heard of this common issue with the solenoids from this hemi engine. It's not allows all cylinders to work because this faulty part is malfunctioning. Please recall this part so I'm sure 75% of the owners can finally have a reliable vehicle and not get stranded like others I'm sure that have had this issue.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2017

2006 Dodge Durango ecm fail 2006 Dodge Durango fuel overspills.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2016

I am experiencing a problem with the engine cutting off in full drive situations, all of sudden my check engine light pops up and that's my pre warning that my truck is getting ready to turn off. It is hesitant sometimes and waits till I am complete stop or sometimes it totally shuts down while driving in traffic. Very scary.

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

When filling with fuel to full capacity, it spews fuel out on my clothes and shoes and down the side of the Durango. It does not matter what fuel station I go to, it does the same thing.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2016

When refueling the vehicle, fuel will spew from the filler inlet when the gas pump stops filling. I understand this was a recall on the 2005 model. Dodge will not address this, stating that my vehicle is out of warranty.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

Upon filling the vehicle with fuel it will spit back a considerable amount of fuel after pumping has stopped full. Its amazing that a recall was issued for the 2005 Durango for this problem and not the 2006. A quick google search shows the scale of the continued fueling problem on Durangos. This problem has been occurring over the past 2 years at multiple gas stations.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2015

As I braked to park the Durango, the engine abruptly stalled. Not sure why it stalled, but I know there was a problem with the 2004-2005 Durangos where the engine would stall during sharp turns while braking.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2015

When I took my vehicle in for a recall I was informed that the right manifold studs were broken and the repair was going to cost $765. 00. I took the vehicle into my regular mechanic to determine if I was being informed correctly. He advised that the Chrysler dealer ship did not remove the heat shield to verify that this was actually the issue. The mechanic mentioned he could determine this by looking at the fasteners of the heat shield. The mechanic said that this happens a lot to Chrysler products. He said that is why they did not need to remove the heat shield. When the studs are broken it allow the exhaust system to leak. My question is if this is a regular problem with Chrysler why is there not a recall. I called Chrysler to see what they would do about paying for a repair for a constant issue. They said there has not been many problems of this nature. Can this be investigated by having Chrysler mail out s survey to actually determine if this is a material defect in their studs?.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2015

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. While operating the vehicle, the power train erroneously switched to the 4 wheel drive low position and the traction control and 4 wheel drive sensor lights illuminated. While stuck in the 4 wheel drive position, the vehicle became very difficult to steer and failed to accelerate normally. When refueling the vehicle, fuel would spew out of the filler neck. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 135,000.

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2015

Every time I get gas the pump clicks off as full, then a bunch of gas comes gushing out and gets all over the car/ground/me. It has been happening for several years and it is not only a fire hazard, but also an environmental hazard.

25 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2014

After buying the vehicle in 2009, it began shutting off when I decelerated for stops or turns. No engine light warning. In 2009, took it to the dealership 4 times. No help. Issues have continued. Took to dealership in 2010 3-4 times for same issue. Seems to shut off more in winter than summer but is very random. In 2011, more exploratory work was completed at dealership. Is there a lemon law? in 2012, I had someone else tinker on it. Still no assistance. The issues are less annoying now and becoming dangerous as it now shuts off at any time, at any speed, in any weather. I've tried new brakes, couple of new batteries, new computer chip, complete visual overall with computer assistance at dealership. Once when check engine light came on, o'reily's computer said that the sensor box had moisture in it. Dealership found no such evidence. All maintenance like oil changes are up-to-date. In 2013 in addition to the shutting off, there is a bumping when the brakes are applied and no one can contribute that issue to anything either! no help. Scared to drive but no $$ get a new one. I feel abandoned with a lemon.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2014

Spit back when fueling.

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2014

The first time I filled up a newly purchased used Dodge Durango gas exploded out of the filler neck splashing onto my hand and into my face. I had to dash into the restroom and flush gas out of my eyes.

28 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2014

Vehicle spits out gas while refueling.

29 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2014

When fueling fuel spits back out fuel fill after fill nozzle shuts off. Spilling down the side and on the ground.

30 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2014

1996 Dodge Durango. I have 2006 Dodge Durango limited 5. 7 liter hemi - I bought used car salesman it in December 2012. In February of 214 we started having a problem with the engine cutting off while driving after reading several different internet forums I discovered the engine failure with my Dodge Durango was a common problem. Like others I have taken it in to our mechanic's because the check engine light had come on. We always got oil changes and regular maintenance done at our mechanic's because we thought they would know the car best and be able to inform us of any important recalls or possible problems. I asked him about the problem, he in turned told me that he knew about the Dodge Durango engine failure problem. He also said Dodge knows about it, but there has been no recall for this problem. I am afraid that someone is going to get killed on the road because the engine turns off at any time. It is a same that Dodge is pulling the same thing as general motors has done. Pleaase lets fix this before someone does get killed. So I am here with my 2006 Dodge Durango parked in my drive just waiting for recall. It is getting closer because yesterday they just recalled the 2005,2006,2007 Jeep because Chrysler said on Tuesday that it was recalling an undisclosed number of older Jeep s. U. V. S to correct an ignition-related stalling problem similar to the deadly flaw that has consumed general motors this year. How also owns Dodge so I know they know about the Dodges problems. At this point my senator richard blumenthal office can not do a thing, because I have not been hurt or killed as of yet. It feels like.

31 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

Every time I fill up, once the gas pump clicks off, gas spews from the fuel fill area.

32 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2013

I bought my 2006 Dodge Durango used with 119,000 miles in November 2013. Every time I fill up, the gas overflows. I always fill-up when stopping for gas because I drive an hour, one way, into town and have to get gas often. Regardless of how I pump gas it always overflows. I have tried pumping fast, pumping slow, and putting the nozzle all the way in. I have a two year daughter and I am concerned this overflow may ignite a fire.

33 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that when attempting to fuel the vehicle, the fuel was spitting right back out. The contact mention he had to listen to when he thought it was going be full to stop fueling. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however the contact could not recall the diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000. Ak.

34 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2013

When fueling the vehicle the gas pump clicks off then fuel spews out the filler neck of the vehicle this has caused the paint to come off and a hole to rust in the side of the vehicle just under the fuel cap.

35 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2013

The vehicle, on cold start up exhibited a surging idle, from 500 rpm ranging up to 2000 rpm. The idle finally leveled out and settled down. While driving the vehicle, I noted some surging present while at a steady speed. Once, while sitting at a traffic light while in drive, the vehicle idle jumped up and casued the vehicle to lunge into the intersection. Luckily no cross traffic was present and applying the brakes very hard stopped the vehicle from completly running through the intersection. There was no check engine light present, nor has the check engine light ever illuminated on this vehicle, (other than the bulb check on start up), for any reason. As an ase master automobile technician and a former Chrysler factory trained technician, I connected a scan tool to this vehicle to see what was going on. As stated, there was no cel, so there were no codes active, pending or historical. Observation of the live data stream revealed nothing out of the ordinary. With access to identifix, I researched and found several other instances of the same concern with 2006 Durangos, with recommendations of replacing the throttle body assembly due to intermittent "glitches" in the throttle position sensor sending false readings to the pcm causing the idle control motor to increase the idle speed. I currently have this part on order from my local dealership. Once recieved and installed I will determine if further action will be required.
