Every time I go to fill the tank while the car is in park at a gas station the pump will stop cause the truck is full and then the truck will spit fuel back out.
Tl the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. While the contact was pumping fuel into the vehicle, the fuel sensor on the tank did not work. As a result, fuel overflowed from the fuel tank opening. The contact stated that the failure began on approximately June 15, 2018. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.
The fuel tank filler tube inlet check valve is not fully closing at the end of refueling. This allows some fuel to escape from the vehicle filler neck. Consequencesfuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire. When refueling at a gas station.
When fueling the gas tank will burp out gas when it is full and spray all over you.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. While the vehicle was stationary, the fuel tank spilled fuel onto the ground. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 117,000.
The gasoline spews out at you before the gas tank is full. So if you are unaware, not paying attention, or just completely forget you end up in a bath of gasoline. So now possibly your shoes clothes and hands have gas on them. Hopefully you don't plan on lighting a cigarette afterward. (I don't smoke) but I do care not to wear gasoline or have to breathe the fumes in my really nice mopar. Super problematic for the owners afflicted with this problem I hope Chrysler does the right thing and recalls the affected vehicles.
Each time I fill up my gas tank when the pump kicks off gas spills out of the tank onto the ground. The car was parked and off.
Each time I fill up my gas tank when the pump kicks off gas spills out of the tank onto the ground. Dodge says they are aware of the problem but because my vehicle is listed as "restricted" in their data base they cant tell me exactly what restricted means only that it may have been classified as a total loss at some point. I purchased the vehicle used but had no issues registering it or insuring it in NJ. Dodge says there is a lifetime warranty on this problem but because it is not a recall they refuse to make the repair for me because of my vehicles "restricted" status so I guess if I am refueling and gas spills out and catches the place on fire Dodge wont care I would like to file a complaint this should be a recall and not just a warranty issue there is a significant chance of someone getting severely burned or killed if this spill happens near an ignition source. Please advise me of my next course of action.
When I fill the gas tank, the pump does not automatically shut off and gasoline spews all over the place. I just purchased this car less than a week ago and have had it happen every time I fill it up.
I went to fuel up my car, when it reached full, fuel started spitting out of the tank. It has done this on numerous occasions.
This is definitely a public safety hazard. I bought my used Dodge Durango last October 2014. Every time I fill my gas tank up,the gas pump shuts off from a full tank of gas on my vehicle, then the gas comes gushing back out of the fuel neck of the Durango's gas tank. There has been recalls on previous years but none on 2006. There are multiple people filing complaints but no recalls? this causes damage to the automobile paint, clothes, people and the environment. However, most concerning is the safety hazard of a potential fire or explosion from the overflowed gas and fumes happening around multiple cars, people and gas pumps at gas stations when 2006 Dodge Durango owners fill up their vehicles. This is not a problem caused by any owner. This is a mechanical defect in the Dodge Durango filler tube valve in the gas tanks. Please help to get this problem corrected by the Dodge company.
I am having fuel fillig problems with the gas overflowing when I fill it its been about 43 years I did not know who to tell until now but online research point s a possible answer which is "the fuel overflow problem is caused by the fuel tank filler check valve" it also consume a lot of gas just going down the street.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while refueling, fuel spewed from the filler neck. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the fuel tank assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
When I fill up my gas tank, the gas does not stop flowing when the tank is full. The indicator does not work, therefore gas spills out onto the ground every time I fill up the tank.
The fuel filler valve is failing and allows the fuel to spill out of the gas tank even when the pump shuts off. This is a major safety hazard and should be recalled. It was recalled for 2005 why not 2006?.
Fuel over flows out of the filler tube every time I fill the tank.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that the fuel tank was defective and fuel spilled onto the ground when the fuel tank was filled to capacity. The failure was experienced several times. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 1,000.
Every time we fuel up the Durango, no matter how slow, or even if we allow it to "breathe". . . When it gets close to full it shoots out fuel. . Seriously shoots it out, like 2 feet. We cant fuel it past 1/2 without this happening. Also fuel leaks from somewhere in the fuel fill tube to the tank when ever we fuel at all. I see other Durangos have similar complaints for this model year.
Every time I refuel, gas comes squirting out of my tank. There is now lumps and bumps on the body of my car now under the gas tank. I have to keep checking my gas gauge while re fueling so this does not happen.
I bought my Dodge Durango used in 2010 and everytime I fill my gas tank up and the gas pump shuts off from a full tank, the gas comes gushing out of the fuel neck. There has been recalls on previous years but none on 2006. Doesn't make any sense. There are multiple people filing complaints but no recalls? this causes damage to paint, clothes, people standing in the way without the knowledge it happens. Does it take an actual injury or fire before something is done? its ridiculous and something needs to be done!!! I don't have the money to fix it and it is clearly a defect from the factory. Hopefully something is done so Dodge owners can continue to love the cars they bought.
I have owned this vehicle one week, filled the fuel tank twice and had the same issue on both fill ups. When the fuel tank is full and backs up to the nozzle to shut it off, the fuel does not shut off and sprays at least 2 pints of fuel on the vehicle and the nozzle and myself. This has happened at two different fuel stations.
I was pumping gas. It got to about 1. 7 gallons and then the gas nozzle clicked and then gas shot out of my gas tank with my child standing beside the gas tank. If he was any closer it could've got in his eyes!.
I just bought a 2006 Dodge Durango on 11/2/2012 and went to the gas station to fill it up and it over flowed about a 1/4 of a tank of gas on the ground and down the side of the truck. I first thought maybe I didn't have it all the way in the gas tank. But then I gassed up again on the 10th of November 2012 and it did it again. I am really upset about this issue. Dodge should have a recall on this. If something happens to any of my family we will be suing Dodge!!!!! I am surprised no one has been hurt yet. This is dangerous!!! I love my truck but hate that there isn't anything being done about this issue!!!.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. The contact state when fuel was inserted into the fuel tank, the fuel would flood back out. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the mechanic stated that the tank filler had malfunctioned and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they informed the contact that the VIN had not been included in NHTSA campaign number:: 09v003000(fuel system, gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. Gb.
The last two times that I have filled up my Durango several ounces of gas will come spewing out of the tank just before it shuts off. I'm afraid this could cause quite the fire if a spark ignites it.
While fueling our 2006 Dodge Durango limited when the vehicle tank became full the fuel nozzle on the pumped kicked off, but then fuel began spewing out of the vehicle fueling spout due to an apparent failure of the tank valve flap that is supposed to prevent this occurrence. Approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of a gallon of gas spews out each time this happens, mostly on the car, but also on mine or my wife's hands and shoes. This is probably the 90-100th time this has happened to our vehicle since we purchased it brand new in late 2006, and there are many other 2006 Durango owners on this site and the Dodge Durango clubs web sites that complain of the same failure. This is unacceptable. The 2005 Durango was recalled for the same failure, but the 2006 has not been addressed. It should not take a fire or someone getting hurt or killed to get this corrected. We paid a lot of money for this vehicle new for this occurrence to happen every time we fill the tank up. The dealership ignores the issue, and Chrysler wants me to pay to have it investigated, and may refund me if it is found to be a faulty part. I cannot afford the $600 the dealership wants to do this work (draining and removing the tank). Someone needs to take a hard look at this issue and help us out with it before someone gets hurt or a fire is caused by it.
When the gas tank is full, the Dodge Durango spits gasoline out and spills it all over the vehicle, the ground, and anyone who happens to be near the pump. This has happened from day one of ownership of the vehicle and happens each and every time the vehicle is fueled. Drenching a motor vehicle operator in gasoline every time they fill the gas tank is caustic to the individual and dangerous to those breathing the fumes inside the vehicle.
Was pumping fuel and the nozzle clicked off and immediately after fuel came splashing out of the tank.
When I try to fill up my fuel tank, when the pump stops, gas is expelled out of my tank and spills all over the car and ground. The fuel is expelled with some force.
Literally every singe time I fill the vehicle up, gasoline erupts from the tank, sprays everywhere, probably sprays a full yard away from the vehicle. The fuel spray has rusted out the fender below the fuel door.
Fuel overflow problems. Gas spews out everywhere if tank is filled all the way up.
Gas spewed all over me and my vehicle (while pumping gas) after the tank reached full. It has done it every time I've filled it up since purchasing the vehicle.
Every time at fill up when fueling the vehicle, when the gas pump clicks off fuel shoots/spills out of gas tank opening. Doing research on line I've discovered many other Dodge Durango's with the exact same problem. There has been a TSB # 14-001-12 and NHTSA ref. # 10043594 about the problem and Durangos with certain VIN#s have been fixed with this TSB. I thought all 2006 Durangos would be fixed with this tech. Service bulletin. When I inquired at the dealer on 6/9/12 about having the problem fixed I was told my VIN # was not covered in the TSB. I contacted Chrysler about the problem and had a rep. Call me and ask what the problem was and that she never heard of the problem. I referred to the TSB notice and she still acted like she didn't know anything about it. All 2006 Durangos should be covered by the lifetime warranty on parts and repairs listed in TSB 14-001-12. This is a very serious safety issue that could very well result in fire and death.
Every time the car is refueled gas spills from the tank. It shoots to the rear of the vehicle and gets on my hands, legs, shoes, side of car and ground. I have contacted Dodge and they will not do anything about the issue. This effects the environment, myself, my family and anyone else who has to come in contact with the gas that is left all over my car, myself and the ground.
When pumping gas, the fuel tank spills gas all over the car & ground. It doesn't stop when the pump kicks off. Gas pours on ground, my shoes & clothes. This happens every time I get gas.
