When fueling my Durango, the gass pump will kick off but a short time later gas will spill/spray out of the filler neck. I have tried various gas pumps and pump rates all resulting in the same actions, usually a gas soaked sleeve, gas running down the side of the vehicle, and a puddle on the ground. It is to the point my wife is scared to fuel our Durango. I have called the Dodge dealership and they seem to not know anything about such problems. Chrysler needs to take note of this and do something about it before it results in a serious accident or death.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Durango 4x4. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle began to shake violently. The contact drove to the side of the road and noticed that the front passenger's side wheel was pointng outward, away from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer who stated that the failure was contributed to a loose tie rod. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. There was a recall possibly related to the failure under NHTSA campaign id number 06v386000 (steering); and the contact planned to notify the dealer to verify whether the VIN was included. In addition, whenever refueling, a substantial amount of fuel would spray out of the filler neck. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000. The VIN was unavailable.
When we fill up our 2007 Dodge Durango the gas will spray out in large amounts and had sprayed both myself and my wife. It is a major fire and environmental hazard.
My 2007 Dodge Durango does not shut off when filling it with gas. I just purchased it in may 2010 and everytime I get gas I have to very careful because it does not shut off and begins to spew gas. It has happened at multiple gas stations and has happened to family members driving my vehicle. I am concerned that with the amount of gas it spews that it may spark a fire or worse yet someone get doused with gasoline. It is quite a spew. Even when I manually pump it will still spew. It is very scary! this shouldn't happen!.
As with the 2005 Durangos & the many 2007 Durango complaints, I too have issues with the fuel spewing out from the filler neck after the pump has shut off. The automatic shut off (fuel intake check valve) is not functioning properly & allows quite a bit of fuel to shoot out from the vehicle. This is not only a safety concern, but it has also caused the paint on my vehicle to begin bubbling up, which will eventually cause a rusting issue. I have to use the windshield cleaner brush at the pump station to wipe the excess fuel off my vehicle to prevent any further bubbling. This problem needs reported & a recall issued. It's ridiculous!.
When filling my 2007 Dodge Durango up with gas, the gas over flows and shoots out of the filler inlet after the pump has shut off spewing gas everywhere including on my person. My Durango has 45,000 miles on it and has just started doing this the past 1. 5 months. This happens at all pumps and even happens when shutting off the pump by hand.
When filling my 2007 Dodge Durango with gas, the gas overflows out the filler tube. This results in a large amount of gas spilling on the vehicle and on to the ground. This is very dangerous and needs to be addressed ASAP. This vehicle does not have any open recalls.
Our 2007 Durango started having fuel spit back at about 40,000 miles. This happens every time a complete fill is performed. The spit back is a significant amount, spraying back out of the fill nozzle and running down the side of the vehicle onto the ground. A short time prior to the 1st occurance of spit back the loose gas cap indicator illuminated, although the cap was verified as closed.
When fueling one to two quarts of gas will burp out after gas has shut off . I know that the 2005 Dodge Durango has the same problem and has been fixed under a recall.
My 2007 Dodge Durango spews fuel out when I fill up. At first I thought I did something wrong, but it does it even when I fill up very slowly. After a bit of research and speaking with my mechanic it seems to be a common problem and I wish Dodge would do something about it- they did for the 2005 model year. How is this any less dangerous? I haul my kids around in this vehicle all the time and the last thing I want is anything to happen to them.

Gas spews back out of the filler neck when full all over the side of the vehicle, the unaware person filling, and the ground, causing an environmental and fire hazard.
2007 Dodge durgano that now lets gas spill out when filling. We never had a problem before but after 3. 5 years of ownership it now spills about a quart of gas out the filler tube all over the side of the truck before the pump clicks off. This is a huge safety hazard and can damage the paint below the filler tube.
1. I noticed the past few times I filled up, gas would spew under pressure once I took out the gasoline hose. I thought it was the gas station , but it does it at all stations. 2. It does this every time I fill up the vehicle with gasoline. Gasoline comes out under pressure and I think its a fire hazard. 3. Well, I cant fill up my car because of the problem. I looked into it and notice there was a recall on 2005 Dodge Durango. I took my 2007 Dodge Durango to dealer and told them about the issue. I was referred to Chrysler corporate , where they told me I would have to pay a 100 dollar copay since there is no recall on my model year and my car is out of warranty. I feel Dodge did not correct the issue with the recall and I should not have to pay for a clearly defective product that has already been previously recalled on other model years.
Gas spews from the filler nozzle st the end of filling up the vehicle with fuel. Vehicle is a 2007 Dodge Durango.
Gas comes out of top of gas fill after the automatic pump clicks off. This was a similar issue on the 2005 Dodge Durangos which had a limited recall. This is very dangerous for the gas spews out of the fill inlet all over me and the ground.
