1 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Durango, the tail lights on the back of the car bulbs have been persistently burning out and then the wiring for the turn signals had been really hott and the turn signals do not work once the wiring had been overheating. The contact stated inside the tail lights there had been small puddles of water even when there has been no rain and while driving the vehicle at 45mph the tail lights went out randomly and a message illuminated on the instrument panel that read tail light out. The contact brought the vehicle to newnan peachtree Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram 53 hollz pkwy, newnan, GA 30265 (678) 369-6037 and was advised that the turn signal bulbs and the rear tail light bulbs and wiring needed to be replaced, but that there was no recall on the vehicle ,there would be a note on the vehicle file for the customer. The manufacturer had not been contacted and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 141, 379. Cb.

2 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2017

I was driving around town about 35 miles per hour and smoke started coming from the drivers side headliner. Had vehicle towed at my expense to dealership. They ended up replacing wiring harness, that was damaged due to sun visor recall. It was in shop for about 8 weeks.

3 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 03/29/2015

There was an electrical fire inside the cabin of the vehicle from within the headliner, directly above the drivers head, while the vehicle was in motion. The driver was forced to pull off to the side of the road as the cabin filled with smoke due to vision and respiratory distress. There was also additional damage to the exterior of the vehicle on the roof, as the fire burned long and hot enough to cause an unknown amount of structural and cosmetic damage to the roof. The fire department was also called to the scene during the incident to insure the fire was completely extinguished. We initially had our vehicle at a local Dodge dealership on 02/23/15 to have multiple manufacturer recalls repaired. One of which was due to a potential fire hazard from the vanity/sun visor wiring in the headliner (Chrysler recall p36). That recall work was completed, but we began to experience electrical issues with equipment that obtained power and ground (same electrical circuit and fuse) from this same circuit. Interior lights would flash and dim, and then ultimately ceased to function, then our steering wheel mounted controls stopped functioning entirely. We returned the vehicle to the dealership on 3/23/15 after talking with the dealership that previous week. They explained that a "pinched wire" from within the headliner had caused an issue in the circuit. However, they insisted that this pinched wire did not cause the steering wheel controls to stop functioning (which made the steering wheel control module inoperable due to electrical short), even though they shared the same wiring. We were able to retrieve our vehicle after additional repairs were completed on 3/27/15. The car was driven one time on 3/28/15, and then on 3/29/15 the fire started from within the cabin.

4 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2014

After 3 months that the tipm was replace by external wiring the car start to loose power and turn of we went to do a diagnosis and the wiring for the tipm was bad re wiring so the car comp turn off by her self to prevent over power so da negros to do a complete stop because turn off by herself. Nightmare to drive on a street with to many lights to run. The god news is the dealership that did the replace dont want to thay care of the problem now after a year with this issue and finally found anothe Dodge dealer that we are paying and extra charle for not being bought just to do the work again.

5 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2014

Woke up the day before the fourth of July and got myself and the kids ready to travel out of town. Loaded everyone in the car and the truck wouldn't start. I pushed the button and it acted like it would start but it would never turn over. I tried for twenty minutes and could not get it started. I had to get it towed to the dealership. They first said it was a wiring and it would be couple of days. But then they called back today and said it is the tipm and they are not sure how long it will be because they have to order the part and it will take "awhile" to get it in. This is my only vehicle to get me to work and three kids to all the places they have to be. This is going to be a headache and the price went from 200 dollars to over 1,000 dollars. I could take that and use it on a downpayment for something else. Chrysler is way out of line allowing consumers to deal with a problem that they created.

6 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2014

2011 Dodge Durango w/5. 7 liter engine stalled as I was turning onto the freeway on ramp. Pulled over and started right back up. Thought it was a fluke or I hit something. Stalling occurred again several times while slowing down and making turns. Happen once while my wife and daughter were going to store. She will not drive the car anymore. Went in for repairs several times with no real conclusion or repair being done. Finally went in after one of the stalls and by then the recall was coming out and the tipm and some wiring was replaced. Thought it was repaired when over the weekend it happened again as I was slowing for a stop sign with my wife & granddaughter in the car, then to me again 2 days later. We happen to live in a rural area so there is not a lot of traffic, thankfully. It is in dealership now (second week) and they are saying it needs new sparkplugs (which it does) but there is no way a engine should stall due to old sparkplugs. It's a disaster waiting to happen to anyone driving one of these. Everything up till this tune-up has been covered under warranty. It has stalled a total of around 8 times and all while slowing down and has been in dealership on and off for about a month total.

7 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2013

Vehicle would hesitate to start, after several tries it would start. On 11/11/13 when the cruise control was set it accelerated by itself. I was trying to start it on 11/12/13 and 11/13/13, when it finally started it accelerated to 4 1/2 rpm, so drove it to the dealership and I was told it was the tipm, which isnt available, but there are parts to correct the problem. One part would be available in 4 business days and the wiring part won't be available until 12/24/2013 estimated. This id such an inconvenience!.
