Check Engine Light On problems of the 2012 Dodge Durango

Check engine light came on. Code for cylinder 2 misfire. I've changed the coil packs and spark plugs. A day later light came back on for same code.

While driving check engine light started flashing. Received code for misfire on cylinder #8. Took to dealer, diagnosed as worn camshaft due to lifter failure. Initially quoted $4700 to repair, then told Dodge would not warranty the work due to possibility of metal shavings in engine. Recommended engine replacement for $10,000.

Engine has cutout (turns off) while driving on 4 occasions. On all four occasions it has occurred while I was exiting a road/ramp. When vehicle cuts out power steering also does not work. In all occasions I have been able to pull off the road or stop before the road ends. The vehicle then starts right back up and functions properly. No check engine lights have come on.

Check engine light flashing. Vechile won't start, engine would not turn. Misfire with cylinder #7. Mds is losing compression causing misfire with cylinder #7. Vehicle shaking while in park.

The catalytic converter went bad 10/2018. The check engine light came on and the dealership performed a diagnostic testing and it indicated that the catalytic converter was bad and needs replacement ASAP. Within the state of PA. It is important to keep the emission system update within state standards. The cost was about $1,400. I check the recall status and there is no recalls listed.

I have a 2012 Dodge Durango with 110000 miles on it. Took it too the dealership because of a check engine light. The engine felt like it was running good. It turned out that three of my lifters were bad which also messed up the camshaft. Had to replace the engine because it would have been the same price to fix it, if the other side we're bad too. This is a known issue with Dodge and they refuse to fix it.

Car was not experiencing any problems. Cranked it to go to work and the check engine light was on and there was a noise coming from the engine. Took to the dealership and first test indicated a misfire in #5. Changed plugs and filter. No change in car. Back to dealership and $150 diagnostic test revealed bent cam shaft.

On October 2,2012 I purchased a Dodge Durango with less than 100 miles. . I have always kept up with scheduled maintenance. I'm still searching for all my paperwork. . I found paperwork where the check engine light was on at 81,552 -02/21/15--12/31/15--10/14/17--10/14/17---10/17/17--04/02/18. . I have spent over $3,000 dollars to repair the check engine light, now im told that this vehicle that I have paid approximately over $40,000 not including all the repairs will not be fixed and perhaps I need to trade it in for another vehicle. . I am extremely outraged with this company and feel I have been ripped off. This vehicle had and has a lot of recalls all which I have kept up on and still im not able to enjoy my vehicle. . I dont feel safe driving this vehicle anymore. . Engine shut down and even after all the money invested im still having problems. . I have all the documents relating to this engine problem. On several occasions upon pulling out in to traffic the vehicle either stopped accelerating or would not accelerate at all. This has also happened on a few occasions attempting to pass another vehicle. Upon pulling out to pass the vehicle would not accelerate. This is a very unsafe problem that has caused my family to nearly get t-boned after pulling out into traffic. Other owners seem to have similar symptoms which eventually get traced back to a faulty cylinder head. Regardless of how many times the vehicles is sent in for service nothing is done about it until the check engine light shows a trouble code. Chrysler has been aware of this problem since the middle of 2012 but has refused to issue a recall.
