The obd reader on my 2003 Durango brings up code for central timing module and eeprm checksum error were the safety recall is in order but the VIN number is not in the list of recall. It has all the specification of recall but VIN number isn't in the list of recalls. I'm driving around in a unsafe vehicle due to manufacturing error that my VIN number is the only thing why they won't fix it. Why do they not care if I kill myself or others from this that the recall is.

I was driving at around 45 mph when my rear spoiler suddenly detached from my 2022 vehicle. It was only held on by one latch and the wire for the rear camera. This could have caused a serious accident — even a fatal one — if it had come completely off. I looked online and saw that this issue has happened to other owners, and that there is a recall related to this defect. However, when I called Dodge, I was told that since my VIN isn’t listed under the recall, they can’t assist me. This seems incredibly unsafe and unfair, considering the potential for serious injury or death. I will gladly have anyone inspect the spoiler if needed. My car has had no warning or prior issues at all. I bought it new in 2022, and I believe this is a significant safety concern that needs to be addressed. Please advise how Dodge can resolve this issue and ensure my safety. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.

Rear spoiler flew off on highway as I was on my way to my son‘s [xxx] birthday party with a vehicle full of children. This is a major concern because it could have endanger the people in the vehicle as well as the people outside of the vehicle on the highway. This was a disaster. No one was hurt, but I have full intentions on contacting my attorney. After research there was a recall for 2021 through 2023 on spoilers for the Dodge Durango possibly not being intact and could potentially fly off. I purchased this vehicle with less than 500 miles on it at the end of 2023 December to be exact I was never notified of a recall and after a year and a half later, it happened to me. What should I do and how should I proceed? I have pictures and videos. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The rear led license plates light obtain moisture corroding the electrical as do the racetrack rear light and go out. I have replaced the 2 rear license plat light assemblies and have gone again again causing myself to receive a traffic citation and attorney fee's due to this defect that thousands of other people are filing complaints about. All of the rear body lighting needs to be recalled and reimbursed for these expenses. The license plate led light(2) are not cheap from the dealer. I have also now received a traffic citation for the brake lighting not properly working on the race track lighting so I will be filing this as a legal matter with the courts to be reimbursed a police report was done as I was ticketed for both on 2 different occasions.

I have a 2015 but on all Durangos with the reat racetrack brake lighting, 2014 and newer Dodge Durango's, this product is fully defective on all. The brake lights and running lights go out and stop working on this style lighting and also obtain moisture. First you start losing some of the lighting on the track lighting as in brake light's until it fully goes out. This product needs to be recalled and replaced.
There is a problem with the rear middle light on the lift gate. Water is getting into them and shorting them out then leading it to need a replacement. This is an on going issue with Dodge Durangos. Something needs to be done with this design flaw on the Durango’s because they charge 1400 for the part plus labor for it to be replaced when the light wasn’t built right.

Was driving and the vehicle stalled well driving, had a hard time trying to stop and could barley steer the vehicle. Vehicle was flashing shift to park. This has happened two times to me now and I took it to the dealership and it happened to them as well. The radio screen sometimes doesn't light up and it will freeze and won't let you do anything, when cell phone is connected via blue tooth it will disconnect and then reconnect and randomly turn the volume all the way up and music will start playing, a/c will randomly kick on when I didn't have it on due to it being winter time and use only the heat now. Rear brake light the race bar part of it is out and mopar won't replace, hood of the vehicle has rust bubbles and the lift gate has rust, I asked mopar about the warranty and they said I missed the expiration date and they would not cover it. Three of the tires keep losing air and I am now on my second set of tires in a year and two months, valve stems replaced two times as well.

I have an open safety recall on my 2021 Dodge Durango r/t. Upon receiving the paperwork in the mail I brought my car to a dealer to get it assessed. During that appointment, it was decided that I did need the recall part to be ordered and replaced. The dealer sent me on my way. I called back today to get an idea of when this would be performed and unfortunately, they said Chrysler did not have any parts available and that my part had effectively no eta on it. I called Chrysler customer care to see what they could do in helping me locate the part. The service person on the other end of the phone told me that the car was safe to drive and there was absolutely nothing they could do for me and that I would have to wait. I then informed the service person I used to be a manager of a parts department for the cdjr brand and asked about the program that chrylser has to expedite parts for customers. I have first-hand experience dealing with the expedition team and they always pulled through when I had my customers call in the past (less than a year ago). They would be able to acquire a part that had no eta and get it to me usually within a week which was incredible for the safety needs of (at the time) our customers. The service person then informed me they had no idea and reiterated that there is nothing they can do and the vehicle is safe to drive. I need to put this complaint in because I have an open safety recall on my vehicle and the company that owns the recall and the part can not give me any estimation of when it will be taken care of and it is to be taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. I don't know who defines what reasonable is but having no estimate at all is certainly not justifiable. This recall is holding back business and personal driving because we as customers do not feel safe driving these long distances knowing that our vehicle could kill us or someone else due to this part flying off of our car and causing an accident with little to no warning.
Water intrusion into racetrack tail light. This has apparently been an issue for ten years on this style of light on Durangos with no recall or fix offered. There are hundreds of youtube videos on how to drain water by removing a bolt, applying silicone caulk or other random fixes. Now my rear tail light is so dim it's nearly undetectable and the dealership wants to charge $1600 to fix it. But I read that even though dealers replace the lights, the problem persists because the problem with design is not fixed. No warning lights to tell me my light was out. My son told me he noticed it when I visited him a few days ago. No inspection has been done. You can see water inside that's filled up the light component. I drive this vehicle less than 1000 mi per month. It can pretty much be inspected at any time in my driveway. The problem doesn't need to be confirmed by a dealer. I can take a picture. It's water in a tail light. Very obvious.

The sunroof spontaneously exploded and shattered all over while driving on the highway at approximately 65 miles an hour. Mother and child were in the vehicle. The sunroof was opened on "vent" position. The sunroof cover was also opened (cover inside the vehicle) mother and child sustained minor physical injuries however, this could have been a major much bigger accident with many other vehicles on the road involved.
Rear lift gate opens while driving and will not latch or stay closed. This has happened three times. The second time $10,000 in I-pads for work fell out on the road. Taken to dealership and repaired twice and now it has been sitting at dealership for 3 weeks for the third repair. The last time it happened my grandson had to sit in the cargo area to hold it down due to snow while daughter drove across town to dealership. This is an ongoing issue and many complaints about this online.
I almost died, I escaped my car moments before it completely exploded into flames. I was driving down the interstate and it said it was overheating for a couple seconds and then the car went completely dead going 70 miles per hour. My steering wheel locked up so I fought to pull it off the road and stop it, I had a bad feeling so I checked the front of the car but it was inflamed once I got out and my seat was consumed in fire.

The contact's mother owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while his mother was driving 65 mph, the rear spoiler detached from the vehicle. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

I was driving on the freeway in clear weather, no traffic, and smooth driving. Suddenly, the rear spoiler made a loud sound and broke free from the vehicle. While it was falling, it also broke off a large portion of the rear wiper, and both rear wiper and rear spoiler crashed onto the freeway behind me. All I could see was a small hose and a wire hanging out the back. I pulled off the freeway and took pictures of my mileage as well as the affected areas of the vehicle. Dodge has a recall for this exact problem on some VIN's of the same model year as my vehicle, but my specific VIN is not covered by the existing recall. The existing Dodge recall reference number is y73.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the spoiler detached from the vehicle without warning. The contact stated that no cars were damaged and no one was injured due to the failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were both notified of the failure and both informed her that the failure was not covered under recall or warranty. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where electrical tape was placed over the loose wiring that resulted from the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
Head rest deployed outside of “extended warranty “ its a safety hazard. This part should be total recalled. The rear passenger door latch gets stuck or pops open randomly. It will not close when this happens and it has come open upon locking and driving! again dangerous where children sit. This is with child lock on or off the problem continues. The third complaint is the seat belts will not retract in the front seat but the dealership requires me to pay a fee to have it assessed. This is a “recalled”issue but it isn't for my VIN these three things seem to all fall shortly after buying the vehicle within the last four yrs. Exact dates unknown.
The rear spoiler detach while driving.
The suspension rod that lifts and holds the liftgate open snapped at the bolt and broke. The liftgate can only be opened and close manually now. It has fallen on my arm and caused bruises multiple times. I fear it can fall on my head or my children's. I haven't taken it to get repaired as I'm sure it will be costly and money is very tight. I only had this vehicle for 4 years when this happened and it has low mileage. I have read about other Durangos having this same issue.
The power liftgate strut broke off at the mounting stud causing the liftgate to slam down uncontrolled. This could easily cause injury especially to a child.
2021 Dodge Durango r/t power liftgate fails to recoil when an obstruction is met before latching. The liftgate will squeeze upon object and try to latch and then it just stalls. The problem has been demonstrated over and over again at two different Dodge service centers. It has been replicated by technicians in the field. Fca corporate is aware of my complaint. The field representative said this is normal. If this was a child’s hand or an animal’s paw, it would be crushed, until it stalls. The owners manual clearly states if anything obstructs the powerlift gate while it’s closing or opening the liftgate will automatically reverse to the closed or open position after multiple obstructions in the same cycle to liftgate will automatically stop and must be opened or closed manually. This happens on the first attempt not multiple attempts. There is nothing in the owners manual warning customers about this safety hazard. I am not excepting the answer this is operating as designed. This needs a full investigation and should be a recall on all Dodge vehicles which my understanding is manufactured after 2011 until present, according to service manager. This can be duplicated using towels rolled up, cargo liner sticking out of trunk, or other objects like a beach chair bag is how we discovered it. Furthermore, if in a parking lot or at home and you are going into store/home it looks liked it’s latch. Your vehicle is liftgate is unlatched! you do get a warning message on dash obstruction detected, but the liftgate fails to recoil as it just try’s to squeeze itself locked. Then it just stalls. Fca executive agrees the instruction do not line up with the way it’s described to work. What will it take? a small child’s hand, a dogs leg, or someone’s fingers? dealer said it was pinch sensors but now stated they are not the issue. It’s a poor design with power lift gate strut. Vehicle was in shop for 45 days.
Was sold car today that mileage was non actual and wasn’t told and this is illegal 1d8hb48n68f155165.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph when the driver's head rest suddenly detached and exploded from the driver seat. There was no impact to cause the detachment. The contact received injuries to their neck and back area. No medical assistance has been had as of yet. The contact contacted the dealership who stated the head piece would be replaced under an extended warranty. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage 59,000.
Vehicle was traveling around 60 moh. . Jumped curve and hit a tree. Air bags failed to deploy. Driver sustained multiple injuries including fractured pelvis, torn aeorta, hemothorax under ribcage, and several cuts, scrapes, and bruises requiring stitches.
The rear tail lights have a sharp edge that is beak shaped and if you brush up against it on accident it slices into your skin or clothes. I was loading groceries and my arm skimmed over it and sliced a whole piece of skin off. I have researched the incident to see if others have had the same experience looking for a recall or solution after it happened to me and my husband multiple times most recently myself a big cut and I see forums with other people sharing same story.
I have water/condensation in my rear light panel. I have no cracks/holes in this panel.
Front left blinker works intermittently exterior lights have water inside the lenses just noticed a few months ago but could have been longer.
I purchased a 2021 Dodge Durango gt from arrigo Dodge- ft pierce on 12/31/20. The picture they had in the advertisement shows a sport hood. The vehicle was in another county so they delivered it at night to my home. Before purchasing it, I asked the manager to double check to make sure the hood was in fact the sport hood in the picture advertised. He called & checked and confirmed that the hood was the sport hood. It was delivered with a different hood. I believe this is false advertisement. I want the hood that they promised me. Now the even bigger issues. I was washing my vehicle when I discovered a crimped rubber part along the driver's side passenger door. Then a paint defect around the window. Then the door being crooked and not lined with the vehicle. With all the damage to the door, I believe there was trouble on the production line. There is also a piece missing on the driver's door panel at the latch to open the door. The part is not there. The bolt is exposed. On the passenger side front door, when opening, there is a black hose that covers electrical wiring. That part is pulled away from the vehicle and the wires are hanging. I paid $49,000 for this vehicle. It is clearly not put together well. It has defects everywhere. Arrigo Dodge wants to try to repair it. These issues are not repairable, these are manufacturing defects. I am requesting a replacement vehicle with the correct hood as advertised. I did not spend almost $50k for a defected vehicle that they want to patch up. Please help me.
Seatbelt for driver no longer retracts or locks when brake is applied. Doesn't retract back when vehicle is off and seatbelt is removed just flops. Back lift gate opens and then closes and suspends halfway will hit your head if you're standing under it. Interior overhead lights do not turn off while vehicle is in motion and running. Don't turn off for about 5-10 minutes after vehicle turned off and is locked.
I was driving down the highway when I heard a loud noise. I looked in my mirrors and saw a piece of my car in the mirror. It was the plastic piece off my door. I couldn't stop being on the highway lucky that it didn't hit another vehicle. I took it to the dealership, sam leman in morton illinois where I was told this happens with Durangos, being blowed off. To me this is a safety hazard to other vehicles, especially if a motorcycle was behind me. I have had issues with lack of care from the dealership, but other than that, this should be recalled from Dodge as it could have caused an accident.
The gasoline will overflow from the fuel filler pipe and cap and not shut off on its own. This happens when filling the vehicle stationary, with the car off at gas stations. It happens very consistently, regardless of the fill rate of the gas, the style of gasoline dispenser, or location of the gas station. The gasoline will continue to spill out from the fuel neck until someone manually intervenes and turns off the nozzle. There have been 2 recalls issued for this issue with 2005 Dodge Durango's (recall id# 40367, and 27198) however the recall is limited to certain vins, which does not include mine. To be clear, even though my VIN is not included in the recalls, I am experiencing the exact same issue as described in both recalls. The body on that side of the vehicle (directly under the filler cap) has been completely eaten away from the episodes of gasoline pouring out over it.
I was in a collision, going mph on the expressway. Guy in front of me slammed on his breaks with no one in front of him. I had no time to stop, slammed into the back of his car. Not a single airbag deployed inside the vehicle, the whole front end was smashed in.
