Rear taillight collects water in the housing when it rains, snow or wash. Due to this defect know my rear tail light is burned out. This occurs when I'm stationary or moving. I read a lot of forums and it seems like a common problem with Dodge.

The rear taillight gets water in it everytime it rains and part of the led of the taillight has gone out due to the water and this is a hige safety concern. On Dodge forum this is a well known issue and well as well known of at the dealership. I did call Dodge customer service with noresponsibilty taken.
Deer was struck by vehicle while traveling about 50 miles per hour on a city road. Severe damage to front driver side to include undercarriage and electrical parts. Air bags did not deploy and I feel like they should have. I was informed by the tow truck driver that the airbag sensors were destroyed and the bag should have gone off.

The fuel door becomes loose and will not open without using emergency release in trunk.
The rear lights fill up with water when it rains and makes the lights in operable, it's a known issue that is affecting several model year Durango's but Chrysler refuses to do anything about.
2013 Dodge Durango was showing rust bubbles on passenger door. Vehicle was in the body shop for accident repair and we asked for rust spots to be reviewed. Autobody manager confirmed that rust is corroding the door from the inside out and water is entering through a defect in the door handle. There is a clear water mark line visible from the inside door skin showing from the door handle to the heavily rusted area. There is defect in the handle that needs to corrected. Our car has been been garaged and very well maintained.

2014 Dodge Durango tail light assembly not properly sealed when manufactured and allows water to enter and ruin circuit board for led tail lights. I have electrical engineering degree and this is not a bulb burned out. The leds circuit board is what's damaged not the leds. Dealers say warranty does not cover bulbs. But this is a whole tail light assembly that was not sealed right from the factory. It cost $1100 to replace . This is a defect not normal wear and tear. There are literally thousands of people online with same issue.
I was getting gas and as I pulled out of the gas station I was getting a load ticking noise. To find out later my 5. 7 himi lifter and cam shafts needs to be replaced. I get a regular oil change and filter change. I am not sure why this is happening but I did see that this is normal and 5. 7 himis Dodge Durangos and not understanding why it hasn't been recalled. I'm a mother of 3 little ones and I'm terrified we can get stranded if my engine decides to go out due to this issue.

The edge of the taillights when the back hatch is open are extremely dangerous. They are sharp and I have severely cut myself multiple times.
Went to head home from vacation and stopped at a store with the engine running. Vehicle engine sputtered then cut off. Tried to start vehicle and vehicle would not start. Sounded like it was turning over. Had to have car towed 2 1/2 hours to our dealership. Once in dealership found tipm to be defective which caused the fuel pump to break. 16 days later the water pump failed. At 28,000 miles 3 major engine parts have been replaced. Not to mention all the other flaws in this vehicle. Passenger side window also works intermittently. Vehicle is still in service department for the second time in less than a month.
Water continues to leak and pool inside the tail light and has caused some of the led bulbs to go out.
While driving down a 2 lane highway the vehicle lost power and once pulled over on the shoulder we noticed a funny smell and flames coming under the hood. The car burned up and its totalled. Luckily noone is hurt.

The rear tail light has been filling with water and have no idea where it's coming in at because tail light still looks as new as it did before. Now the led part of the light has completely gone out and the whole light isn't illuminated.
The tail gate tail light gets water inside every time I was my car or every time it rains. This causes the tail light not to be fully visible.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that a puddle of water was notice under the rear passenger side of the vehicle. Upon inspection it was discovered that water had leaked into the rear race track light assembly. After removing a bolt from the assembly the water was trained from the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,000. Jft.
Racetrack light in back of Durango has water in it. Part of led light panelis now out after a good rain.
Fuel door will not open depressing door switch interiorly or emergency release switch in cargo compartment. Fuel door had to be pried open order to refill gas tank.
The backup light assembly is this vehicle fills with water during rain or car washes, speed is irelevant. The water shorts out the led lights, causing them to fail. The assembly is supposed to be water tight, therefor there is no way for the water it collects to drain. Therefore, the metal components of this assembly are also beginning to rust due to the persistent presence of water. Replacing this failed assembly costs $1,300. This component should continue to be water tight on well maintained vehicles, such as mine. This failure feels like a flaw in the design of the original part. Dodge should replace these failed assemblies at a much more reasonable price, or free of charge, due to the fact that the component is designed to last the life of the vehicle, and certainly isn't for me and many others.
Track lighting on the rear door is not sealed and water gets into the light housing and the rear camera as well as the license plate lights. Some of the lights in the track are out and I have to keep replacing the license plate lights. Water is just sitting on the lights so they burn out. I'm afraid this might start a electrical fire in the rear door or my rear lights will just stop working.
I was at the lift gate close to the lights. The edge of the light cut me really bad. This was not the first time.
I've had a few recalls on the truck. Several listed wiring. They've all been corrected or checked by a dealer. My truck caught fire and burned all the electrical under the hood today. Less than a month since the electrical recall was supposedly repaired. It was stopped but running at a gas station after a short 3 minute drive.
Water in the tail light eventually burned out the lower left hand side, looks to be faulty sealant.
The entire brake light (panels) had water leak in them causing water to back up in plastic cover shorting out the break lights and causing condensation on the rest of the brake panels. This happens when it rains or car is getting washed or any time water touches back brake lights.
On may 31, 2018 while driving down the interstate in the rain, my front left molding wheel flare flew off of my 2014 Dodge Durango. There were no hazards in the roadway and I did not hit anything that would have caused it to fly off. There had also been no previous signs that it was lose or about to come off, it just simply flew off while I was driving. Inspection of the vehicle afterwards also did not indicate any damage to the wheel hub area that would have caused the wheel flare to detach.
Had pulled car into garage and thought car was in park. Had not turned rotary shifter all the way to park, so car was in reverse. Started to exit the vehicle and removed foot from brake and car started pulling backward. I jumped back into car and applied brake just as car door, which was ajar, struck garage framing, badly damaging door. If I had not been able to get back into the car I may have been killed because there was nowhere to move in the garage. Chrysler should automatically put these rotary shifter cars into park if vehicle is stopped and car door is opened.
The taillights have standing water in them and I have no clue how water would be able to get in there. The water will not drain and now it has caused a portion of my light to go out. After reading this online, I've seen a lot of Durango owners with this issue and I feel this has to be turned into a recall. I have only had my car for one year and I am no longer in the warranty but I feel this should not be an out of pocket expense.
I have water pooling in the rear tail light track whenever it rains. This reduces light visibility, and I'm assuming will eventually short out the electrics in the lights.
The Durangos have a serious issue with water soaking into the led race track lighting on the rear lights. Mine is filled with water and killed my led bulbs.
Tail light has water in it. May cause assembly to fail.
I was parked in my driveway on a slight decline and the vehicle was running and in park and I ran into the house to grab something and when I looked back it was rolling down the driveway and crashed and got stuck in between two trees. The vehicle is now totaled.
Hil adding gas, the fuel overflow does not shut off when full. Gas spills out of the tube and runs down the side of the Durango and onto the ground. There is considerable rusting under the fill tube. I purchased thsi vehicle 4 years ago and it has always done this. The rust area had been repaired prior to me purchasing so I am assuming this has happened before my ownership as well.
