We bought this van for my wifes mom. Days after we bought it, the air bag warning light came on, the cruise control doesn't work anymore and the radio changes station when I turn the steering wheel. We took it to a repair shop that told us the clock spring was defective and needed to be replaced. The clock spring was replaced by Chrysler shortly after the recall was issued. What can we do? is this something Chrysler will cover again?.
The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the power windows, windshield wipers, and cruise control would fail sporadically. The emergency brake warning light would also illuminate intermittently. The radio had also failed in addition to the air bag warning light remaining illuminated. The contact took the vehicle in for recall repairs in 2008 under NHTSA campaign id number: 04v480000 (air bags) where the clock spring was replaced. The repair corrected the failure for approximately one month before recurring. In addition, the contact stated that the drive belt was defective and was repaired several times to no avail. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000 and the current mileage was 180,000.
My 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan warning light came for the airbag. I also lost the cruise control and the horn. This all happened on 11/4/05. I started up the car and then all the warning lights came on. I contacted the local Dodge dealer because this also happened to my friends Dodge. The dealer stated this happens a lot on this model and the repair is around 150 dollars. I was wondering if you had a recall or received any other complaint on this matter. Thank you in advanced.
Airbag warning light illuminated (remains on). Both cruise control and horn are inoperative. Research has revealed that this is an identical problem related to the 96-98 recall for this very problem. Suggest that problem is not limited to those years. Vehicle mileage 133000.
After starting the vehicleair bag warning light illuminated. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Airbag warning light is on, horn and cruise contol does not work. The dealer is saying that my vehicle is not covered by the clockspring recall. It should be, as this is a known manufacturing defect.
Cruise control does not work. Horn does not work and air bag warning light flashes on and off.
