The check engine light came on, vehicle started shaking when running. Codes showed it was the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft sensor. Both were replaced severall times my a mechanic. Dealership had vehicle for 2 weeks could not figure out what was wrong. Replaced the flexplate. It now makes a grinding noise and check engine light is back on. Now it is stalling several times while driving at any speed. It puts my family at risk and now I cannot leave the neighborhood in fear that it will stall while driving. If we get into an accident with the vehicle stalled no airbags will be reployed. Sometimes it had difficulty starting.
I was driving approximately 50 mph on a city street when my engine shut off. I lost all engine power; tank went to empty and it was incredibly hard to turn the steering wheel as well as brake. The best I could, I pulled over, put the van in park and restarted it. I drove home. I called the Dodge dealership and they said that since no dash lights came on, no codes would be stored, and to keep driving the vehicle until it happened again. I have an appointment scheduled with them for 11/19/15 (the soonest possible appointment. ) I am uncertain if this is related; however, sometimes my "key" doesn't lock or unlock the van. In August, two times the van wouldn't start right away (2-3 tries) and on September 6, it didn't start after multiple tries. About an hour later, it started with a grinding sound, which sounded to be coming from the right passenger side of the dashboard. No dash lights. It has started fine since then.
