2 Battery Cable problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2019

I have previously reported an issue with my vehicle. The problem has persisted. The issue at hand is the vehicle loses power without warning while driving. It has happened at low speeds (25 mph), middle speeds (45 mph) and high speeds (65-70 mph). All warning lights are disabled when the events occur, so there is no way to warn other vehicles of the issues at hand, increasing the probability of a crash. I have taken my vehicle to cutter Dodge in honolulu only to have been told that the battery cables were loose ($150 service fee) and that the primer that is included with new batteries to apply on the battery posts was something that they'd never seen before. The problem has persisted. I currently have my vehicle at a repair shop with a battery that won't hold a charge because the intergrated power module is malfunctioning. As seen is previous complaints, this issue is ongoing with 2012 Dodge Grand Caravans. This issue presents a significant safety hazard and should be recalled. I will repeat that the driver has no warning that this issue will occur and it puts lives in danger. My vehicle has less than 110,000 miles and it began before reaching 100,000 miles. Recall this part before lives are lost or maimed.

4 Battery Cable problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2016

I have owned this van since 05/24/2012. At 30,922 miles and date of 01/06/2014 the positive battery cable corroded through and the van died while driving. The dealer replaced the entire cable under factory warranty. On 04/24/2016 & 62,036 miles the positive battery cable corroded through again and the van died while driving it. It seems that this is going to happen every 2 years. Eventually it's going to happen in heavy traffic and someone will get run over by fast rush hour traffic.

5 Battery Cable problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2015

3 instances of engine electrical issues, suspect power control module box. First instance about 2 years ago, pulling into driveway, and headlights and dashboard begin to flicker uncontrollably. I pulled negative battery cable, re-connected after a couple of minutes, and all normality returns. 2nd issue, some year ago or less, car shuts down in middle of highway, luckily, right next to a parking lot and red light. As engine shut down, I suspected this issue once again. I used momentum to turn into parking lot. (just rolled in. ) wife asked me what I was doing, didn't explain until I was able to secure into parking lot and stop vehicle. Once again, pulled off cable on battery, and was able to re-set computer glitch. Third issue event. Was parked in parking lot, couldn't get key control to open door. Used emergency key to open door, once again, pulled off battery cable and re-set computer. There is a problem with this computer without a doubt.

6 Battery Cable problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2014

At 11:30 pm the car engine started (the keys were in the house),horn was blowing, head lights were on, wipers going at full speed four way flasher going there was a red glow under the car and smoke was billowing from under the car and the doors were locked. We were able to get a key from the fob and unlock the doors, and unlatch the hood so we could open the hood. All the wires, alternator, fuse box and battery were cherry red. Using some clippers we were able to cut the battery cable and every thing stopped we cooled things down with some snow. All this only 3 ft. From our house Dodge estimated about $1800. 00 to fix what could be seen and most likely more would show up later. This is the third time we have had problems with the electrical on this car. My wife and I are both disabled and I need a van to carry my wheel chair when I go to the doctor, etc. We don't have the money to fix the car and still make payments I have contacted Dodge and our insurance company, but they say it is our problem. I hope you might be able to help us out.
