Three problems related to fuel hoses lines/piping and fittings have been reported for the 1997 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When changing oil consumer noticed that fuel line was leaking. Took vehicle to dealer for service and it was determined that the leak was due to the o rings.
Consumer smelled a gasoline odor coming from the vehicle. Consumer lifted up the hood and notice fuel spraying onto the manifold from the plastics fuel rail. Dealer was notified. Dealer informe consumer that this vehicle was not covered under the4 recall due to VIN.
This vehicle has had recall repair. . . Recall no. #98v189000 fuel system gas line: the vehicle was leaking fuel onto the ground and there was a strong odor of gas inside the vehicle. The problem has been repaired, but now the vehicle continues to stall while driving at any speed. The vehicle has stalled at least 8 times since the recall repair. The manufacturer is aware of the problem.
