Repairs were done to the engine on 3 occasions, rotors 2 occasions, brakes 1 occasion, control arms (suspension) 1 occasion, steering 1 occasion, & electrical. Although I only have 54,000 miles on my car and the engine has been replaced, the dealership refuses to fix the ongoing engine problems. The dealership manager, rod harris, admits it a lifter ticking but insists that it is normal. Chrysler gave me an "added care service contract" that is good through 6/26/04 and to 75,000 miles. Plan code is ad675h. They refuse to fix my car. This is the second time, after the first three attempts to fix it, I have been to the dealership. I filed a complaint with Chrysler on 1/12/04. Also note they still have my vehicle today 1/12/04 because the transmission failed. It's been in service for 5 days. Transmission failed while I was driving on 1/7/04. I am concerned with the safety of the vehicle and the engine failing now with my 10 month old daughter.

I believe my vehicle overall is defective. We purchased this vehicle new and have had nothing but problems with it. Had to replace rocker arms and engine at 51,000 miles. Have since replaced computer, transmission, intake manifold, cooling system, catalytic converter and now have a "check engine" light on again with codes relating to cooling and the catalytic converter. This vehicle is just an accident waiting to happen. Who knows what will go wrong with it next.
It started out as just a rough idle. They couldn't duplicate it and told me to drive it until it got worse. I did. It then added trying to go dead when I pulled into parking places. They again couldn't duplicate concern. Take it and drive it until it gets worse. Then it started racing occassionally while at idle and would take five or six times to start only to to go dead when you pulled a short distance and came to a complete stop. They still can't duplicate the problem. Chrysler told them to replace the head. The mechanic says there's nothing wrong with that head and that it will not fix the problem. I know they're going to give it back to me and say drive it until it gets worse again. The next step is for it to go dead in traffic and cause a wreck.

This is a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, that I have had plenty of problems out of. This was purchased at 29,569 miles, 10/99. Jan 2000 the inner sensor went out, replaced by dealer under warranty. July 2000 the outer sensor went out, replaced by dealer not under warranty per milage at time. Aug 2000 the passenger fan went out, replaced by dealer at a cost of $500. Sense then replaced brakes often, burn lots of oil and plenty of hesitation from the transmission. But my other biggest problem is the window motor, that has gone out in the passenger window twice and now the driver window has completely fail apart. You here nothing but noise when closing the door, cannot let the window up and down without its sounding like its going to break from popping like its getting caught on something. Most of the time you have to pull it up by hand in order to get it to close completely. Has their been a recall on this item?.
The engine failed while driving between 55-60 mph. There was a knocking noise in the engine and the vehicle lurched forward, then slow down. The vehicle did this for about a mile, afterwards, it stalled. This was due to an oil sludge build up which was caused by a design flaw. The vehicle had a variety of electrical problems throughtout three years.

The car has had a/c problems. Electrical problems. Window problems. Transmission problems. And the 2. 7 motor has been out of service since 2003! I need help. I still owe $8000. 00 plus on this thing and I have not been able to use it since the fall of 2003. Thank you.
History includes blown transmission sensor, failure on the very first year inspection for brake rotors, driver's side window sticks in up position, intermittent heat control button not functioning properly, noisy when turning in front strut area, keyless remote does not function properly and now the worst of it. One month ago, took car in with oil and engine lights flashing, ticking noise from engine, stalling out. Dealer did electronic sensors repairs and tune up costing $500. One month later, car had to be towed back to dealer with loud banging in engine. Repair bill of over $6,000 to fix a car I've owned 3 years, 8 months and 60,000 miles. 2. 7 l engines are blowing in these cars all the time making it next to impossible to purchase a used one to do repairs myself. One used car parts place said they have a waiting list. Recall anyone???!!.
The contact stated while driving vehicle stalled and lost power. There were no warning signs or lights indicating a problem. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer, but they have not determined the cause of the problem. The dealer said it could be the engine or an electrical problem.

I was driving on the interstate as car started a rattling noise and lost power, and would not start again. The car was towed to dealer, and I was told that the engine was blown at 88,000 miles. There were no working dash lights to alert of any problem. The dealer could not give explanation. The car is under full warranty and oil has been changed regularly. Estimated cost 5,000 dollars.
Front automatic door locks/switches spontaneously and intermittently stopped functioning, and created inability to even manually unlock or open driver and passenger doors, trapping driver and/or passenger in car (including mechanic who test-drove car to determine source of problem) electronic power source to locks ultimately had to be disconnected for safety.
Consumer states having the same problem as recall#98v32300 isolator cradle. Dealer will not repair because VIN is not included.

Consumer states when he was driving and no warning the vehicle caught on fire. Dealer notified. Ts.
October, 2002 and July, 2003. Had to replace relay. Lights inside were blinking occasionally, then transmission would not shift out of first gear, all electric was out. It's now may, 2004 and the lights are beginning to blink again. I'm afraid the same thing is going to happen.
From what they say, my timing belt came off and took out the engine. I also had problems with the power locks going out at the same time, the steering was starting to go out and the cam sensor went out.
Intermittent flickering of all interior lights. Problem will occur anytime of the day or night. Causes a distraction that could be dangerous.
The vehicle stalled without warning. Vehicle stuck in second gear. Speed sensor replaced. Timing belt failed and there was sludge in the engine. Engine needed to be replaced. Window, radio and speaker inoperative.
The dash lights went out intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer 10 times. A switch was replaced twice, however the dealer did not specify which switch. The problem still existed.
Ac fans had to be replaced twice, rear windows won't go down, dealer replaced light switch, brakes wear unevenly and shudders when pressed, alignment goes easily, oil disappears with no leaks or no smoke, back of driver's seat collapses unexpectedly.
Consumer called complaining about electrical problems. Also, stated that the rear lights don't work as well as the panel and other things in the vehicle.
