Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact noticed that there was a progressing abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop who replaced the engine mounts and the failure recurred. The drivers side window randomly went up and down with no warning and the contact constantly had to make an adjustment. The other power windows with up and down manually but not from the power control panel on the drivers side door. The contact stated that while traveling the noise occured again, near the front of the vehicle and then there was a sudden loss of power upon pressing the accelerator pedal and the vehicle was not able to be driven due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to another repair shop for inspection and diagnosis and the mechanic indicated that the housing was cracked, the drive shaft going into the transmission hub was misaligned and needed to be replaced as well as the transmission. The contact was later notified of NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags and electrical system) and was waiting on the part for months to receive the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000. Dyd.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while traveling at approximately 40 mph, there was a strong vibration and the vehicle was driving roughly. The contact discovered smoke under the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence where an independent mechanic diagnosed that the transfer case and/or the driveshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 77,912.
