The heater works great on the driverside and blows cold on the passenger side no matter what you do. Autostart doesn't work when it's cold out, thought that was the point of it but guess not. Makes a really loud winding noise when I starting it,also goes into gears hard most of the time. Got the hard to find 225/55/19 tires on it and my brakes make a lot of noises. My front end makes a bunch of popping and grinding when turning left or right going forward or backwards, heatsheild is falling off around the driveshaft. Service all wheel drive light comes on often, the park assist stopped working ,taillights flickering often, one of my fobs works when it wants to even with a new battery. Driver seat is also starting to act up to having to wiggle the switch around to make it work. No one wants to fix the problems with my Journey rt making me regret getting this SUV I was practically forced into buying/trading it and when I went to the place of purchase a few days after getting was promised these issues fixed and I'm still waiting will not put my children in this car going to get rid of this nightmare soon as I get the chance since this so called 4star safety raiting is bs don't feel safe at all.
After 60mph have vibration wen touch tha brake pedal.
My car is exhibiting all of the problems that other 2012 Dodge Journeys are under a recall for, regarding the abs, and traction control, but I'm being told by the dealer that my car isn't covered under this recall. I have resurched and quite a few people are having this same issue, and being denied the recall. The recall needs to be expanded. My car has 110000 miles on it. I had the brakes changed last year by the dealership, and they have continued to make noises like a spinning rusty wheel, and now I have lost my abs, and traction control, which then takes my cruise control. Cars should not come apart just because they reach the 100000 mile mark. I can clearly see I'm not the only person dealing with this same issue, so they need to look into this!.
Abs and traction control lights illuminated. Diagnosed by the dealership that the abs module needed to be replaced. Brakes continued to work and at first the abs and traction control went on and off intermittently.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. While driving 50 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The contact stated the brake pedal was released and reapplied until the vehicle finally stopped. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the fact that the vehicle was operating normally. Several days later, while driving 40 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed as having a fuse box failure. The independent mechanic advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer because there was a recall; however, the dealer stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage and VIN were unknown.
Every 3 to 4 months I have to get new breaks because the breaks start grinding so bad.

I have tried to get my vehicles in for their recalls however the dealership can never get the vehicles done in a reasonable time frame. I can make an appointment and have everything set up for a 30 minute fix and as soon as the car gets there it's well we will need to keep it for 48 hours before we can work on it. My other vehicle is a takata recall and it's been on a waiting list for over a year to came in.

My husband and I were traveling up our hill on from our house. It is very steep, like cresting the top of a rollercoaster. Once we were at the top coming over the top our brakes gave out. My husband kept pushing them to the floor and still nothing worked. We had to round a bad curve towards the bottom and had to swerve to avoid hitting a car coming up the road. In doing so my husband tried to keep control of the car but ended up veering off the road into someone's yard where we hit a tree head on then skidded across their driveway and crashed through their privacy fence and landed nose down into their inground swimming pool. And at no point did our airbags deploy. We were wearing seat belts but I actually had to go the local urgent care for head injury and my husband is seeing a dr for back injury. Our headrests had a mechanism that deploys in accidents. That was all that worked. Thank god nobody was in the pool because they would have been killed. The police were called and a report filed.
Unusual rear brakes wear and rotors at 25000 miles causing car to vibrate. Car is still under warranty but will not over this defect.
First was the back brakes and right router have had to replace it 3 times since 2012 . . We where leaving a bp when we were hit on the side back passenger door and back panel so bad the door was stuck and the airbags did not deploy was so scared for my kids.
2012 Dodge Journey. Consumer writes in regards to steering issues, fuel leaks and brake system problems. The consumer stated upon picking the vehicle up from the dealer, it was leaking gas while driving on the freeway. The vehicle stalled. Also, there was an issue with the steering.
While driving at approximately 30mph and slowing down the right rear brake would not release which resulted in smoke, overheating of the wheel area and smell of burning brakes. The vehicle was reviewed by a Dodge dealer who indicated they could not find any problems with the brakes. This happen two more times with the same outcome from Dodge. Chrysler supports the dealer and will not take any actions. A complaint was filed with the states attorneys office because it represents a safety issue. Meantime, I am taking the car to another chysler dealer for a second opinion which seems to be my only option.
I was driving on the highway and heard this awful squealing sound. As I sped up it would go away then when I stopped at a light it was really loud. Since then when I stop or go it now makes a grinding sound. I noticed yesterday after driving about 10miles there was a burning smell coming from my back tires. We are taking it in tonight to get it looked at. Not real happy when this vehicle is only 2yrs old.
Peddle to the floor when braking, excessive dust.
Had to replace at 16,000 mile not good for normal driving dealear said its normal ware bull------ 25. 000 for a car and this is whit you get.
Had my brakes checked at my mechanic because they were grabbing. He said the rotors were warped. My vehicle only has 25,000 miles on it. Called Dodge they said too bad you bought it used it is your problem.
Today driving down the road with buildings on both sides I heard squealing echoing. As I came to a stop in my garage and shut the door I smelled the most awful burning smell. My fiancee say it was metal burning, and I felt by my tires and they were hot. My SUV has 23000 and they are mostly highway miles. I did some research on here and found it is a common problem and should not be happening already on my car. I have also had problem with my touch screen radio having a mind of its own. It switches radio stations on its own. It has switched from cd to radio to aux on its own. It has maxed out on volume on its own and it shut completely off on its own. I think there is a short but the dealership can't find anything wrong with it.

All these vehicles have serious brake problems , they have to be replace very often if not you end up in an accident , I have been very close , it's the complete breaking system that's bad , just check the service records for these vehicles I am sure there have been many accidents related to brake issues .
I purchased this car new on July 23,2012, and almost immediately there was a loud groaning noise from the front end, also started to pull to the right. My first dealer contact was on sept 4, 2012 and worked on the brakes, and this somewhat corrected the problem for about a week. The dealer has worked on the steering and brakes a total of 8 times, replacing the brakes several times, also deglazeing and lubricating and whatever, each time it worked for a week or so. The last time , April 29, 2014, a complete brake job was done on the rear brakes, a front end alignment, and repair the front brakes. This cost me $499. 00. Mileage is 46700. They also rebuilt the engine due to head and valve failure. As of may 25, 2015 it is again making the noise and pulling hard to the right. I think Chrysler should take this car back. I bought my new Dodge Journey on the 16th of July 2012. I live approximately 40 miles from the dealership were I bought my Journey. Most of my driving is highway so I didn't notice the issue right away. The first time I came to a stop with my new vehicle the brakes shuddered like they were grabbing then letting go and grabbing again, really fast. I returned to the dealership 4 different times for this and a transmission shudder which they say Chrysler has no fix. Is this something you have seen from Journeys before? thanks for your time.
