Car will stall anywhere and anytime and doesn't give you enough time to pull over. Lose all power to accelerator and steering wheel. Check engine light comes on car will not shut off and will not move. If car is off it won't start often being towed. Camshaft sensor and crankshaft position sensor have been replaced 3 times within a year. Truly a safety hazard especially at highway speeds. The radio and air controls have a mind of their own after you manually shut them off they come back on or start blowing out hot air on legs.
When driving, at any speed or upon acceleration, the engine suddenly loses power and goes to 1500rpm(approx. ) with a traction control light and battery charging light ( car swerving light and red lightning bolt light) illuminated. At highway speeds this is very hazardous, on the street its very frustrating. When vehicle is brought to a stop and completely shutdown, thereby resetting the ecm, the vehicle starts normally and drives normally( sometimes!) on other occasions after being put into gear and proceeding the same thing occurs and engine will not rev over 1500-1800 rpms and so long as you are not going up a hill will shift normally to get to about 40 mph tops, on a hill however speed will drop to about 15-20 depending on the hill I guess. This happened on 8-15-20 and car reset and drove normally after that with no issues but the following morning as I left home for work it occurred 2 blocks away from home and after resetting car via shutting it down several times the issue would not "self cure". Hopefully, as this is Sunday at 5 am when the mechanic troubleshoots it displays the same behavior and I will update this post.

So when I am driving down the street or on the freeway at an accelerated rate and then I start to push on the brakes to slow down to either come to a stoplight or an exit of the freeway and to either turn left or right the car will cut off but also stay on the engine completely cuts off and the steering wheel locks but the radio the air conditioner everything else stays on inside the car the ignition it self stays on run it's a push start. I then have to put my car in park and turn off then back on and hope it doesn't happen again, but it does.
The traction control lights stay on as well as the abs system, and the car goes into limp mode at regular speed and good driving conditions I took the car to the dealer and they said that the alternator was causing the problem, the alternator was only 3 months old and a brand new battery, but I replaced the alternator again and still have the same problem. I paid the dealer 170$ for the diagnostics and it did not solve my problem now if I go back they will want to soak me for more money.
My airbag light keeps coming on and going off. My abs light stays off after starting and while driving. Now my brake light is on. The brake pops on after I began to drive and stays on.
Vehicle keeps randomly stalling while driving. Vehicle will shut off and I have to turn the ignition off completely then let it sit to restart. Sometimes I have to put vehicle in neutral to get it to start. Had battery, fuel, spark plugs, alternator checked and they are working fine. Random lights keep flickering on the dash. This must be an electrical issue. Please issue a recall!!!! several other owners with the same make and model have complained about the exact same issue.

Past 2-3 years whenever it rains abs and esc light come on and brakes fail to work properly. Once quits raining, after no more than 24-48 hours lights go off and everything functions fine until rains again. Recently there was no rain from January to mid June and I traveled from florida to ohio and back with no problem. Then it rained, abs and esc back on. Vehicle was recalled Dodge #r61 for this exact issue and the dealer stated performed recall. That did not correct problem. I contacted Dodge and was given a case number. I took to dealer after it had rained and they confirmed abs and esc light were on and pulled code when I dropped off stating abs module failure which is the part that fails in r61 when it rains. The next day it did not rain and dealer states abs and esc light off and there were no codes indicating no problem. They say they do not know how to repair and state Dodge told them it was out of warranty. I pointed out no expiration on recall and they have stated they don't know how to fix and don't know how to get paid for repairs if could find problem. Note: the r61 states it does not apply to right hand drive fiat freemont because the water intrusion to abs ground wire occurs when rain runs off passenger windshield and soaks ground wire and the right hand drive vehicles have ground wire that is culprit on drivers side and water from rain does not affect those wires. In 2016 they announced they were recalling 152,000 right hand drive Dodge Journeys (fiat freemont) without explanation however this appears to be clear proof they do not know how or where water is entering abs wiring system.
My whole steering column is causing problems from airbags, my wipers not working now, speed-control wont work. , traction control . Causing my car to swerve out of control and causing my car to almost rollover as it went into oncoming traffic, I keep having to change my tires including the back tires the most. The car was in motion when this happened. The light is on the dash, but no one will fix it, I have a son who is 14 years old I bought the car because I thought it would be dependable. My son has to have a live and kidney transplant. The car is still under 100,000 ,miles. So you can imagine when I found all this out. They said or the dealer said that the car does have recalls but wont fix them, I was told that there is a wiring harness problem. Please help, thank you ,katina adams 870-204-1402 there are still other issues not listed above. The car is leaking oil around the oil pan. I am shocked as I have always been a Dodge lover.
Driving along and check engine ,no skid, and elec flash and engines huts off. Trying to restart , it cranks starts for 30seconds and then shuts down.
The vehicle is jerking and the radio is changing channels on it s own. The engine is making a sound, that sounds like it's about to give out. The vehicle haves less than 40000 miles on it. The traction control light came on while I was driving straight on dry pavement.

I was driving and the car cut off in the middle of the road. Tried to crank but would not fully turn over. Had a mechanic pull up to see what the issue was and he said it could be the crankshaft. Removed it, now I cannot find the part because they all look like the camshaft and my part is straight vs the l shape.
Abs and traction control, park break and ! informatioin lights permanently on upon starting. Dodge/Jeep dealer identified the abs module to be faulty and not replacing it even though all american models have been recalled and rectified or replaced. Australian Dodge dealer are requesting $1025 aud to replace the part - disgusted in the response form the dealer having to pay for their faulty car.
My SUV auto start no longer works and as I'm driving the car, the check engine light randomly comes on while the car is in motion and the car engine shuts off and starts to slow down to a complete stop. When it got plugged up to a diagnostic machine it stated that it had 3 crankshaft position sensors that needed to be replaced. Vechile has 52000 and is a 2015.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that when driving at 5mph in a parking lot the abs and the tranction control light illuminated on the instrumental panel, and the light remained illuminated and caused the abs and traction control warning alert sound remained own. The vehicle was not taken to a the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 99,000. Li.
As I was driving my car on the city street I lost acceleration power, the traction light and the red lightning bolt came on. My car speed decreased and will not accelerate to over 12 miles an hour. I was on a city street with a speed limit of 40 miles an hour when the power decreases and another vehicle almost ran into my truck as I was trying to make it through the intersection. My car has coded the saying that my throttle needed to be replaced. The throttle was replaced and the car traction light and the lightning bolt still appeared on the dash. The car will not increase to over 12 miles an hour. My car is at the shop and the mechanic has diagnosed that the electrical issues should be on recall because there has been at least 6 Dodge's that he has repaired with the same issue.
Car stalled on highway as we were driving and cut out. Very dangerous. . Wouldn't restart. . Then started up 20 mins later and drove fine. Engine light came on. . Dealer says it a crankshaft sensor. . Super dangerous.
I was at a stoplight waiting for my right of way the light turns green I push on the gas and it goes to the center of the lights and loses power then shuts off. I try to start but it just starts clicking with a red lightning bolt on the dash I tr to move in n and it wouldn't let me till after like 5 times. . . Finally after almost being hit from behind the opposite side turns green and im having to push the car by myself with 4 kids under 4. Till this day its unknown sitting in my drive way, and ever since it has happen it won't start anymore. Never had any problems till that day always been well maintained. And it seems like I drains every battery. Also a family member has the same car and the same problem has happen to them also.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the abs and stabilitrak warning indicators illuminated. While driving various speeds, both warning indicators turned off and the brake pedal and steering wheel stiffened. The brake pedal and steering wheel remained stiff until the warning indicators illuminated again. The contact took the vehicle to brown Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (170 I-35, devine, TX 78016, (830) 665-6401) and was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The dealer stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 140,000.
Shortly after beginning to drive the car, the traction control light comes on, the steering tightens up and the brakes freeze up. This happens on completely dry roads. This happened 2 times within 1 mile of each time. The first time I almost went through an intersection because I couldn't get stopped, and the second time I almost rear ended a car. I had both of my children who are 7 and 10 in the vehicle. This is not the first time this issue has happened. It happened 6 months ago, and my mechanic said the code was a faulty tpm which was replaced. It then happened a month ago, and the most recent time which was last week. I've been researching this issue and it seems that the Dodge Journey has had this issue, among others. It seems as if this vehicle needs a complete recall. Somebody is going to end up seriously injured or dead. I still owe $10k on my vehicle and cannot afford to buy another and pay this loan. I need to get rid of this vehicle and Dodge needs to take responsibility.
When you are driving the car it doesn't matter the speed the car will turn off without any warning. Causing a dangerous and scary situation after you put in park and press the start button amd it will turn back on. Happened on 10/ 07/18 the first time replaced crankshaft sensor. It happened again on 10/18/19. I noticed Journeys have this problem on almost all years models and I was going through the recals and inoticed that a majority of people complain or have the same problem about this sensor. Even though Dodge is only recalling 2016 Journeys because of this problem. I think Dodge should do a recall for all of the years for Dodge Journeys over thos problem and its extremely dangerous for the car to just turn off without warning. That being a family car that could lead to an accident.
The switch on my cruise control went out on my 2015 crossroad Dodge Journey only 39000 miles on it.
