My car is constantly unable to start im being told due to electrical issues. Ive replaced the starter, battery, & alternator. There are all kinds of forums telling you ways around getting the car to start but no real fixes. Some people spending hundreds and thousands trying to fix this issue by replacing fuse boxes, adding cables, replacing the entire computer system and more to no avail. While others just park the car until its paid off or sell it. Its not fair and its inconvenient. Dodge Journeys 2009+ are all experiencing these issues.

Takata recall turning left onto a main road the car slowed down and stopped in the middle of traffic. Would not start again, could not be jumped. Towed to Dodge & they said its crankshaft sensor and they are charging way too much when I find on here it was recalled December 2016; we must have not had the vehicle yet.

Crank sensor, cut out twice within 2 years time and had to get replaced! each time, vehicle was in motion! very dangerous! had to tow vehicle each time. My child was in the vehicle with me the first time. I expect full reimbursement for each incident.
Abs light, skid control light remains on, cruise control not operating at all when turned on vehicle lights came on, cruise control not working at all fear that there may be issue with brakes, have seen complaints of leakage into abs system on other year models.
Traction control warning light, brake warning light, abs light all triggered and strange jolt when driving 50 mph on a highway flyover. Matches description of safety recall r61 dtc c2200-49 and body module codes listed.
The vehicle's check engine, the esc, and the electronic throttle control warning light, would all come on and the vehicle would bog down and not be able to go above 40 mph. This has happened 5 times now, it is back at dempsey Dodge dealership for the 4th time. No answers have been found and Chrysler is not replacing the vehicle. Every time it happened while driving. The vehicle has been back at the dealership more than I have driven it since purchasing it on June 29th.

First the light turn on of the air bag (movement). In other night when I turn on the alarm it's start to activate on panic mode then I turn off the alarm wait for a various minutes and activate again (off), but in less than a minute start to be in panic mode. In other day (movement), says that was an open door and the locks start to put it many times, any of the doors wasn't open (movement). In the same day at night it's start to turn on/turn off the inside lights, put the locks, and the message of a door it's was open (movement). The alarm was on panic mode twice and the light's was againg turn on/turn off (off). The batterie, every time that I try to turn on the vehicule I need a booster to charge it again. The mechanics says that the alternator and the batterie are in good conditions has the voltage that needs to be operating. I put a new batterie but the problem persist. And turn on the light of other thing on the panel.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the anti-skid and abs warning indicators illuminated. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was taken to mtn view Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (located at 6276 alabama hwy, ringgold, GA 30736, (706) 935-2328), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 32,040.
On approximately 6-8 different occasions in the last 3 years, my 2014 Dodge Journey has shut itself off while I've been driving it. The first 3 times I was driving straight & after the 3rd time, the dealer replaced the crank shaft sensor but it continued to happen. There seemed to be nothing to note when it would happen, until recently, it shut off on 2 occasions when I went over a bump & going in a forward motion in both cases. The first time I was going 55mph, the 2nd 25mph so not sure the speed had anything to do with it. Brought it back to dealer & they did an engine control module update. This was one week ago and it happened again today. I was again in a forward motion, actually just started accelerating from a red light, so was probably not going more than 35-40mph when it happened. I felt like this is an issue your organization needed to know about on many levels but the largest one for me is as a full-time mom. I have had my son in the car with me on almost every one of these occasions and to say it's terrifying would be an understatement. Everything on the car locks and I have about 3 seconds to try and guide my car out of traffic without getting hit. The car does restart once you put it in park and push the ignition button but I would not wish this fear on my worst enemy. Hope this helps in some way. Btw, today I immediately drove my car to my husband at work and he will be driving it back to the dealership today until they can hopefully fix it for good. Although at this point, if I never saw that car again, it'd be too soon.

Anti-lock brake system (abs) control module. There's was a recall for our 2012 Dodge Journey which the previous owners took care of in oct 2015 (the month and year of recall). We purchased in 2017. A few time the abs light has come on but only for a minute or 2 since we bought it. Today 8/2/2019 it came on along with the brake light and (no traction light (the swiveling car image light). We have had a lot of heavy rain. We where told by servicing station by diagnostic test it was the abs control module system malfunction. And if we did not get fixed our brakes could lock up and system freeze up. This is definitely a safety issue that was corrected in past but is now happening again. These lights came on just as we stared to drive. When the car was resting for 30 minutes and I was leaving to drive to service station the break pedal was extremely hard to push down ( break needs to be pressed with touch button start). I almost couldn't start car. The break finally softened and I was able to press down to start car. At that point the light did not come back on for 5 minutes while driving but sadly it did come back. I feel we should not have to pay to fix a problem that has come up again from a previous recall. This is a big safety concern. It was in the past and should be again.

I was driving on a city street. After going over a small bump on the street, the abs warning light and check engine light came on. I was able to stop the vehicle. The warning went off temporarily, but when I started to drive again, there was a small skid and warning lights came back on. There is more "play" when I brake, but I was able to come to a stop. The warning lights have remained on. We have been having a lot of rain where I live. I have seen reports of other people having similar problems with my model of car. Reason : unknown.
2015 Dodge Journey. Lights for awd, abs and stability control system come on with no notice as I enter a major intersection. Loss of power no acceleration. The vehicle finally started to move. The. Warning lights went off. Contacting dealer for repair.
Car will not start at times. Cant put it in gear at times. Eap light comes on without any issues. Seems all electrically issues must repair brake and turn signal lights every other month.

For the past few weeks my car loses power and turns off while driving and I have to wait 5 min to try and start it again.
When it rains the abs, traction control lights and service all wheel drive lights come on and the cruise control does not work . Next day soon as I drive all lights go out. It is happening more and more. . Thier is a recall for 2015 Dodge Journey for this but they say not for mine. Funny that I have same problems and same year car. This happens when driving in the rain or wet roads.
The electrical system will shut completely down while driving the car. The wind shield wipers will come on by itself, you will not be able to turn them off. The cooling and heating system will shut down. During this time, you cannot use your power windows. Every warning will come on. This car is a nightmare.
This issue with the throttle position sensor has been going on for me, since I bought the car from dealership last year 2019. Has happened 3 times. I can drive and the car stalls, loses it power to drive, car shakes with acceleration. Had to have the dealer clear code once in July 2019, so didnt have the car for 6 months yet. Then it happened earlier this year and then it happened July 2020. Everytime this goes bad I take it in and they reset the sensor. . I feel this is a safety issue especially with it reoccurring and I have two little children k drive around. It happens out of nowhere and its my first new car and thos is a saftey habit. Im afraid to travel to see family on the east coast. The thunderbolt light will start flashes and car loses its acceleration. The engine light came on as well. The traction tire light also turns off. Car does not gain acceleration and shakes. This is an ongoing issue with my Dodge and othwr reviews.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. While driving approximately 25 mph on wet pavement, all the warning indicators on the instrument panel illuminated and the brakes locked. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the anti-lock brake system module and hydraulic control assembly were damaged and needed replacement. The vehicle was towed to dave dennis Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep (4232 colonel glenn hwy, dayton, OH 45431) where it was determined that water entered the anti-lock brake system and shorted the abs module and hydraulic control assembly, which needed replacement. The contact also received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Headlights stopped working on and off while driving. Had to replace $1000 electrical panel. Airbag light will not go off. Ignition switch, acceleration switch, brake switch, and cruise control switch all needing replaced after this was done. Egr valve problems. My car jumps, acceleration problems while driving, brakes less sensitive and having to stop feom a distance, cruise control works then stops working while driving. Window switch, motor and wiring replaced on drivers side and works sometimes but mostly doesn't work.
On several occasions my Dodge Journey has shut off while driving and while sitting at a traffic light. Some instances occurred while turning at a traffic light or driving straight ahead on a local city road. The check engine light, traction equalizer warning and air bag lights all come on just prior to the car shutting off most times. Other times there is no warning until my steering wheel and brakes lock up indicated that the car has shut off. I've had the car serviced for the engine amongst other repairs and the problem still persists and the codes clear only temporarily. The car lights dim or flicker and the car shakes sometimes when starting up indicating that the car will not hold power to drive. The battery is good and the mechanic has stated that the issue is electrical.
I went into my church for about 2 hours and came back out and started the car to let it cool down for my kids. As it sat idling all of a sudden my check engine light is on, my etc light is flashing, and my esc off light is on. Shut it off and turned it back on and the engine light was on. Started driving and the etc light started flashing and esc off light came on. My car slowed down from 60mph on the highway and I couldn't speed back up. I had to pull over and turn car off and back on 3 times to make it back home. To make it home I had to put cruise control on and hope I didn't get behind someone going slower than me because all the lights would come back on.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. While driving 20 mph and approaching a stop sign, the vehicle failed to stop on command when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact had to depress the brake pedal to the floorboard to slow down and stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the abs needed to be repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The contact called walnut creek Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (located at 2404 n main st, walnut creek, CA 94596, (888) 377-2513) to notify them of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 153,000.
Driving alone a city street and pulled into a shop and the car had a cloud of smoke, as I was parking, then noticed fluid running from underneath. I didn't know what had happen. A refund for repairs on this vehicle would help. And effort to someone letting me know why this happened , is the question.
Purchased my 2014 Dodge Journey in feburary 2019. Before having couple recalls done on my I had no lights on my dash board ever since purchased my car. Then I had recall t47 done on my car in April 2019 there begins to start randomly flashing the airbag deployment light on my dashboard. Could be in park or in gear the light will appear and stay all at random. Contacted dealership to schedule an additional recall and informed them of this airbag lighting issue. Was told that it caused from my seatbelt wiring. If that was the case then the light would have came on before ever having any recalls done more specifically the t47 recall for exactly that issue with the airbag wiring. Then the guy attempts to provide me with a quote on how much they were going to try and charge me to have it fixed !! I dont know what you would call this but I know it can not be legal !! please investigate and help stop this from happening to anyone else who uses this dealership !!!.
Steering column control module has gone bad. Driving down rode and starts shaking uncontrollable while hard to stop. Looked up recall and see it was recalled on 2009 but not 2010 yet.
I've had my throttle body fail twice in 8 months. Both while driving, it causes the car to not be able to accelerate. Almost was in a horrible accident.
When taken in to the dealer I was informed tht there was a problem with the abs module. It was coroaded and shorting out the sysyem which also controls the speed sensors and traction control system. On Tuesday may 7th I started the car and the speedometer did not register and the automatic door locks did not engage the brakes also hopped when I tried to slow down or stop.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate, jerked, bucked, and the electronic stability and traction control indicators illuminated. There was also a drastic reduction of speed to the point that the vehicle would stall at any given moment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and noticed moisture, and that the abs module needed to be replaced. The dealer (maguire Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of syracuse, 959 hiawatha blvd w, syracuse, NY 13204, (315) 487-6211) was notified and stated that the vehicle was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic); however, the vehicle exhibited the same failure as the recall campaign. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.
There was a bunch of long lines on the screen and the key fob wasn't detected even though the key was in the car. This happened as the car wouldn't crank up. The car wouldn't register that it was in park. It reflected that it was in batter save mode. The a/c cuts on by itself. Even after cutting it off a few times. The issue with the a/c was happening with both front and rear units. The rear would blow out a lot of hot air and it wouldn't sync. The issue with the key fob just happened today (9/13/19).
Car is losing power. Red lightning bolt, car and engine light on.
About three weeks ago, the abs and check light came on, I researched recalls and took car to schlossmann's Dodge city. I was advised that due to weather and water leaking into wire harness that it was corroded. In which this is the basis of the r61 recall. However, since my issue is with left wheel sensor and not the front right, it is not covered. I am wondering what the difference is - if the result and cause is the same - why would it not be covered? I have also noticed that the cruise control no longer works - is this related?.
When using right turn signal dome lights turn on, if cruise contrail is on cannot use brights will shut off cruise by itself, car stalls, and will not always start, when it does start many times will stall right away, and when driving stalls. Air bag light on which have read can mean airbag fail to deploy.
