The following recall was supposedly corrected by my Dodge dealer in watertown, NHTSA campaign number: 22v723000 manufacturer Chrysler (fca us, llc) components exterior lighting the headlight lenses were replaced and in 2 years time, the driver side lense is always fogged up and as a result I cannot see at night due to the dimness. I have brought my car to the dealer, and they said to contact fca, the mfr of the headlight assy. , and when I contact them they tell me I need to contact Dodge. No one will help me with this defective assy they installed on the recall.

At first, unknown, all problems are in the tailgate,of which you cant see while driving. Tailgates are designed to be used. First ,the backup camera went out, then the third brake light went, and you can only see when backing up to a large picture window-also,parking light r/s in tailgate is out. Now, I asked my granddaughter to open the tailgate when the car is locked, and it opens- (security) I then looked up on youtube, and found many on how to fix due to bad wiring at the hinge. A service repair ticket dated 11/21/24 from bill volz in westchester,NY noted immediate attention but did not see the rest items in need of correction. Security- tailgate not locking safety- multiple lights not working, camera out,and windshield wiper /tail occaisionally --all connected.
Reflectors are critical for visibility especially when it is foggy outside. My reflectors made my vehicle less visible to other driver because he backed his trailer into my car not seeing my lights or me and directly caused or perhaps contributed to the accident. I seek compensation due to the product liability. Manufactures must be held responsible for defective vehicles parts, which caused it a prone to failure, manufacturing defects and failure to warn in a timely matter which could have prevented my accident. I would like to file a claim with Dodge stellantis for compensation and for my personal injuries. I would like the repairs costs for the front driver side because my deductible is 1,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while parked or driving, the headlights would become fogged. The skid and a check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed where it was diagnosed with sensor issues. The vehicle was repaired however the warning light re-illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because it was not under recall. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,784.
My headlights become unseeable at times, its difficult to see the road. My cruise control has got stuck and at one point accelerated on its own, and my 3rd row seats have no seat belt buckles. No one has confirmed my vehicle. There has been some recalls.
Passenger side headlight which is a sealed headlight has moisture creating dimmed visibility a night -how does a sealed headlight get moisture in it unless it’s defective - the car only had 23,000 miles when problem started.

I had purchased the vehicle in early April of 2024 from drive time in langhorne PA. I've had mechanical / engine issues since then. On [xxx], my daughter called me and informed me that the vehicle shut down while she was driving with my infant grand daughter, on the highway. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Pull over police officer stated said lights are to dim to be driving at night told me I need to have my lights checked out. While driving about 60- 62 mph the vehicle just shut down without warning trying push the accelerator it would not go no further stuck on interstate with emergency blinkers if could of cause bad accident or someone could of hit me without warning. Dodge Journey I need some assistance with my vehicle opposite site interstate.

It started with third brake light out, then, tail wipers intermittenly work, then camera not working- had to have someone watch the back of car to see also right inside light out and tailgate wont lock with rest of doors after looking on youtube this has been going on since 2012.
The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the vehicle would not immediately start, and white exhaust smoke was coming from the vehicle. Also, the message "coolant low" was displayed although the coolant reservoir was full. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the head gasket was faulty. The head gasket was replaced but the coolant message continued to display. The contact also indicated that the back over prevention camera was faulty, and condensation was present inside the driver's side front headlight housing. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
Left headlamp seal is bad. Condensation on inside has diminished brightness. The right lamp also leaked but was replaced under warranty. My warranty has expired but, as a safety issue, I believe the faulty lamp should be replaced at no charge. I'd be happy to have the bad headlamp inspected by a dealer or whoever.
The headlights in the "auto" position will turn on the headlights and then after 5 or so minutes of driving, the interior dash board will dim and brighten, and then the headlights turn off entirely. If you move them off the "auto" position, the headlights will not turn on even when switched to the headlights. When you switch back to auto, it puts the brights on instead of the standard headlights. Rinse and repeat while driving, lights on/off/then only brights.
We fixed the driver-side headlight has moisture inside for $189 on 08/01/23. Now, the passenger-side headlight has moisture again. We think that the headlights must be defective headlight. Would you please check that?.
My 2020 Dodge Journey has a persistent issue with the passenger-side headlight. Despite multiple bulb replacements, the problem continues, leading to failure of vehicle inspections. Three independent mechanics have examined the vehicle, consistently identifying the problem as originating within the headlight socket or wiring harness, yet no warning light indicates a malfunction. This recurring failure appears to be a known issue affecting other Dodge Journey models, specifically impacting the passenger-side headlight. While I have experienced no other electrical problems since purchasing the vehicle, Dodge is requesting a $200 diagnostic fee to confirm a suspected wiring harness fault. I respectfully request a resolution to this recurring problem, given its apparent prevalence within the Dodge Journey model range and the lack of any contributing factors on my part.
Headlight assembly both full of moisture. I bought the vehicle on this day an noticed them then and there are both full of moisture all over lenses.
The lights on the interior are coming on by them self, I believe the problem lies in the rear wire harnesses. My car only has 31000 miles.
The wire harness in hatch where it meets in the boot wires break from using hatch 2010 to 2020 all models and can cause camera wiper brake lights reverse lights plate lights and tail lamps and unlock and lock button not to work on hatch the wires break from normal use on all models and it can cause a spark and start a fire.

Inside the wire in trunk hatch may cause brake lights to stop working and reverse light and rearview camera and-unlock button on trunk the wires become brittle overtime from opening and closing the hatch.
Both headlights on the vehicle have a major amount of moisture in them. Also, when using the headlights the lights surge. They will get really bright and then dim down the whole time they are being used. The dealership looked at it and said other models of the same car have been recalled for issues with the headlights but mine were not included. I'm not sure how that can be. No warning lights or anything come up when using the headlights. The lights have been collecting moisture for about 9 months and it's gradually getting worse. They have been inspected for cracks that would result in the moisture but there aren't any. I'm not sure if the moisture is causing the headlights to get bright and dim while in use or if that is another issue all together.

The headlights have condensation inside them. I had them replaced in December of 2019 as were under warranty at the time. Two and a half years later, I noticed I’m having the same issue as before. There is condensation inside the headlights. The dealer told me I needed to contact their corporate office to see what can be done. I called Dodge corporate office and was told they weren’t going to cover the replacement cost because the warranty expired. This is a safety issue and it appears Dodge won’t stand behind their product.
The contact's son owns a 2018 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the headlight bulbs burned out soon after replacement. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that moisture was entering the headlight module and causing the bulbs to become blown. The contact also stated that the alternator had failed due to a defective O2 sensor. The contact replaced the O2 sensor; however, the failure returned soon after the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Vehicle: 2019 Dodge Journey issue: rearview camera failure / malfunction I am reporting an ongoing issue with the factory-installed backup camera in my 2019 Dodge Journey. The camera has been malfunctioning for several years. The camera intermittently displayed a blank screen, glitching image, or the image would appear upside down when shifting into reverse. Over time, the issue worsened, and the camera now fails to display any image at all. This poses a significant safety concern, especially since reverse cameras are a federally required safety feature on vehicles manufactured after 2018. Despite attempted inspections, no clear fix was provided, and I believe this may indicate a manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Chrysler/stellantis acknowledge this issue and investigate whether other owners have experienced similar problems. A technical service bulletin, warranty extension, or recall may be appropriate, depending on findings. Please advise if any repair support, diagnostic guidance, or goodwill assistance is available to address this safety-critical system failure.
When turning on vehicle the lightning stalls to come on properly. The dash board and radio is completely off even when vehicle has started. Speedometer does not have an accurate reading of how many miles per hour I'm truly going in which I don't feel safe due to the fact that I'm more likely to get pulled over for speeding or not driving fast enough while on the road. No one has inspected the vehicle to confirm other than myself and husband who drive the vehicle. I could be doing 20 miles a hour but the speedometer would say I'm going 45 miles a hour. I was resting at a complete stop and the speedometer stated that I was going 3 miles at a complete stop. There was no indicator flashing light or any message on the vehicle that was indicate there was a issue with the vehicle. The speedometer has been like this since April of 2022. The lighting also but it does it sporadically from time to time.

Me and my son were sitting in the car waiting for my wife and the car started dying lights started were flashing the horn was honking wipers were going interior lighting and gauge cluster was all flashing then smoke started to come through the vents so we jumped out and that’s when I seen flames under the hood the wiring harness from the firewall to the fuse box was completely in flames. I eventually tamed to fire with snow beings that it was all I had at the moment. The vehicle hasn’t been inspected by anyone yet I wasn’t sure how to go about this never had to deal with anything like it. It is available for inspection anytime.

Vehicle loses power while driving. Sometimes it will not start being stranded with kids as this vehicle was produced as a family car. Had battery, alternator, starter replaced. Have read numerous reports from google about vehicle not starting due to safety security features, problems with the fuse box, needing a yellow wire grounded that is located under the hood, and so on. If this is a know issue with these vehicles for over 10yrs why has it not been recalled to be fixed. As I drive the vehicle on the freeway with my kids in it endaragering our lives and the many others who are on the road with me and the countless other Dodge Journey drivers. Fix this issue. Make Dodge accountable for their mistake as they know what they did.

We were driving on a city street and suddenly the electrical went crazy. The horn started going off repeatedly, the wipers turned on and wouldn't shut off, the wiper fluid kept spraying, the blinker lights kept blinking, and it continued even after we turned off the car. I was in the middle of driving and couldn't see anything because of the windshield fluid's constant spraying and could have easily gotten into a wreck if there were other cars around. The only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. If I had been on the freeway, it could have ended very badly. It was most likely a faulty tipm after researching and finding multiple complaints from other people with the same issue. This has been recalled on others vehicles but not on this specific model, which I'm not understanding why that is the case, since it seems to be just as dangerous in our model as the ones they recalled.
