Right front ball joint fell off the car as I was about to change the tire. My neighbor witnessed the event. He said he had never seen such a thing in 40+ years. I had to rent a press to reattach. The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Magnum. While driving at low speed he noticed a noise in the front end of the vehicle. When he examined the vehicle he noticed that the front ball joint tension struts were loose. The contact replaced the front ball join tension strut. The manufacturer expedited the tension strut to the dealer to assist the contact with the repair. Case 19616527 was filed with the manufacturer regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000 and the current mileage was 37,000. Updated 09/22/10. The consumer stated the problem was due to the tension strut on the left front side of the vehicle. The tension strut has a ball joint connection on one end. The ball joint on his vehicle was loose and fatigued. It would rattle at low speeds. Updated 09/23/10.
