Dodge Magnum owners have reported 4 problems related to other fuel system tank mounting (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Dodge Magnum based on all problems reported for the Magnum.
My 2005 Magnum rt hemi 5. 7 stalls after a fuel fill-up. During normal driving the car suddenly looses power and stalls only after filling the car up at the gas station. I have had the same problem numerous times in the last couple years from 2016-2019. I have found information on this issue under NHTSA report pe13016 listed online and see the investigation was closed. Also see that Dodge supposedly created an "extended recall" for "stalls after fuel fill-up" to include a free gas tank replacement. However this is listed for 2006 vehicles and I am reporting this problem on my 2005 Dodge Magnum rt (5. 7 hemi engine). This can be a serious issue if the car stalls in traffic as it could cause an accident with another vehicle. This issue can happen when turning right or left or on a straight section of road the only way to prevent the car from stalling is to use the gear shift to keep the rpm's of the engine higher by being in 2nd or 3rd gear. From searching the internet on this issue I have found many people have had the same problem. When searching on pe13016 or pe13-016 I have found many articles about this. The so called "extended warranty" from Chrysler shows up as missing page for and reference to x53 which is supposedly the "extended recall" for all years of the Dodge Magnum and many other Dodge or Chrysler vehicles. Is it going to take a fatality with this issue for someone to wake up? what do I do now? I have no recall from Dodge or Chrysler about this issue. The issue is only resolved by a gas tank replacement from what I can read online.

Takata recall vehicle stalls anytime . Loose power steering. Unable to steer it. Very dangerous. Dealer says there is a free replacement for fuel tank because of a defective vent. I never got a recall notice, apparently is just 2006 Dodge/Chrysler issue. And spend thousands on new computer and other service to find out the cause. Found the defective vent issue on line - confirmed with dealer I purchased it at that tank issue is covered. If there had been a recall for this dangerous issue, I would have had it fixed years ago. Vehicle is located in duluth, mn/superior, WI area now.

After filling up with fuel the car has a tendency to stall at intersections or stop and turns. Also will surge or loose power at highway speeds. Usually only last for 0-15 miles or so and then goes away until next fill up. I believe this fault is due to a fuel tank issue, that when filled causes fuel to be shut off to engine. Possibility for being rear ended are very great with this kind of problem. Especially in high traffic areas.
This has been affecting my 2005 Dodge Magnum rt 5. 7l vehicle for over 2 years now. It is dangerous! if the car is filled (not overfilled) at a gas pump the vehicle is almost guaranteed to stall because of a faulty valve in the fuel cell that allows raw fuel to soak the charcoal canister that is only supposed to be processing fuel vapor for emission control. There is nothing else wrong with the fuel system. Not a loose gas cap or anything else. Not only that, unless the vehicle is down to 3/4 of a tank or less the stalling can occur during any driving conditions that would allow fuel to slosh in the cell such as, fast elevation changes in the road, under acceleration or mild to hard braking or under load during cornering. I have spoken to my mechanic at length about this and all that can be done is to replace the faulty fuel cell at great expense. There are literally thousands of complaints about this problem on various Chrysler/Dodge enthusiast forums on the internet. We are just now hearing about the ability to report it here. Try lxforums. Com or dfwlx. Com and see how many members are suffering from this very dangerous condition. It is not just 2006 models either. The 2005's and some early-build 2007's have the same issue until the design was changed. Any time one of your agents would like to take my car, fill it at a gas station themselves and then try to drive more than a mile without the vehicle stalling and being almost impossible to restart for up to half a minute, they are welcome to it. I guarantee it will stall every time as soon as you turn a corner or brake to a stop at an intersection! we have all been either spending a ton of money to fix it or compensating by various methods to not fill our tanks to prevent getting killed by a faulty valve. Chrysler is well aware of this problem via their dealer network! please do something about this! thank you.
