4 Car Will Not Start problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2015

So it started with my locks not working. The door would only lock if I stuck the key in the door or if I manually pushed/pulled the lock. Then about a week later my car would not start the first time when I would try to start the car. After that, it just got worst from there as in it would take longer/more attempts to start the car, until it just wouldn't start anymore. I had the car towed to a mechanic and he said it was my fuse box (tipm). And that he had heard of a lawsuit against Chrysler because of faulty tipm for a recall.

5 Car Will Not Start problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2013

I was traveling up the highway when all of my service lights illuminated and I lost complete engine power. I attempted to get my vehicle to the turning lane but it was difficult because of loss of power steering. I got it to the turning lane and tried to restart it several times. This lasted about 15-20 mins to no avail. My vehicle was towed to a local mechanic who could find nothing wrong with the vehicle. I then took my vehicle to the local Chrysler dealership in the next town where they also could not duplicate my incident. The kept my vehicle for 2 weeks and still found nothing wrong, no codes or anything. My brake lights were also staying illuminated even after they unhooked the brake light switch. The dealership contacted the Chrysler engineers for more help in diagnosing the problem. The engineers stated that they were 90% sure that it was the tpim (main computer). The same tpim was recalled in 2007 and was supposedly fixed. The tpim was not replaced due to uncertainty of the engineers and the dealership. I have had this vehicle since April of 2007. The vehicle stalled again on October 2, 2013, and October 8, 2013. On October 8, 2013 the vehicle would not restart for 10 minutes and was once again on the highway traveling at a rate of speed of 50 mph.

7 Car Will Not Start problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2012

The gas cap gauge stated there was a problem and my automatic engine start would not work any longer. We replaced the gas cap and the problem still persists two years later. We have taken the vehicle into the dealership, but nothing has ever been resolved. The vehicle also stalls and the engine turns off while driving. This has happened a half dozen times while driving 30-40 mph. Also, when driving in 2-3 gear, the vehicle feels like it is surging and has an intermittent miss. 8/11/14 the vehicle would not start and I called a company to give the battery a jump. The car started but now the electrical system is malfunctioning with the door locks continuously locking and unlocking, the hazards flickering and the back wiper going.

8 Car Will Not Start problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2010

First repair: vehicle would jerk (as if it was shifting too hard) when going over bumps in the road and would stop (rpm gauge drops to 0, lose power steering, would have to coast to shoulder and re-start vehicle). Fuel injector was replaced. Second repair: vehicle would not start without several attempts, once it started it would stop driving (rpm gauge drops to 0, lose power steering, would have to coast to shoulder and re-start vehicle). Relay was replaced. Third repair (about to go back to shop tomorrow)- car started normally and then stopped while driving (rpm gauge drops to 0, lose power steering, would have to coast to shoulder and re-start vehicle). This is the third time in 2 weeks that the car has been in for servicing for the same problem, and the manufacturer's dealership cannot figure out what is wrong with the vehicle. This has become a major safety concern, as I do not know when the vehicle will stop unexpectedly while driving. I have rented a car until I can have my car repaired again, because I am afraid to drive my car.
