One problem related to other fuel system tank mounting has been reported for the 2008 Dodge Nitro. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While pumping gas, the gas pourd out the fillerneck ater full. This would happen all the time untill I had enough of it and on Feb. 2014 I took it to d Dodge dealer who told me it was a wrong part nimber and replced my fuel tank no charge even though my warenty was used up. After I got it home and a few days latter it was time to fill it up and I did so. Now gas is flowing from the tank from an unknown place to me when the vehical is parked in my driveway either slowped with front of vehical high or rear of vehical slowped high or on level ground with vehicals right side higher that the left by even the smallest amount. Now I must be without a vehical until they fix a problem that is even more dangerious that it was before I took it to them to be fixed. This is a very dangerious problem and could put my family at risk. They said they would fix it but I would have to rent a car but it is thier fault it is leaking and I have to drive 180 mile round trip to the nearest dearship to get it fixed.
