1 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Dodge Nitro

Failure Date: 04/04/2010

I bought a Dodge Nitro 6 months ago several times I have went to pull out into traffic and the Nitros transmission will not pull but just a few feet, I have taken it to the dealer twice and they can not find any problem. When this happens it gives me no indication before hand. When I pull out it will sound like a bunch of grinding and jerking. I really fear for me and my children's safety. It is still under warranty but I cant seem to get the help or answers on what is wrong.

3 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Dodge Nitro

Failure Date: 05/01/2007

Nitro vibrates between 38- 42 mph as though it was in over drive. Not enough power at that speed in over drive. V-6 engine was supposed to get 18-24 mpg, we got 14 city ,18 highway. Very hard shifting. Been to dealer 4 times so far with no correct results. Also, died at stop signs at times.

4 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Dodge Nitro

Failure Date: 03/31/2007

2007 Dodge Nitro 4x4 transmission when upshifting stalls/shudders from 25-35 mph, may lead to accident.

5 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Dodge Nitro

Failure Date: 12/17/2006

I purchased a Dodge Nitro in October of 2006. Since then I have had it stall out on me, on the highway, twice and re-start automatically. It's pretty unsafe to be driving a car at 80mph on the interstate and have it stall out and restart on you for no apparent reason. I know I am not the only Nitro owner who has had this issue. When I explained to the service department at the dealership about this they said since they cannot recreate the problem they cannot diagnose it. I have not called Chrysler yet, but I am about to. I don't want to die, or cause the death of others, because my car is malfunctioning beyond my control. Something needs to be done about this.

6 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Dodge Nitro

Failure Date: 12/14/2006

I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro. Since about 400 miles there has been a hesitation/bucking while trying to maintain a steady speed. It has been to the dealership 3 times, once a month since purchased on Nov 25, 2006. The problem has still not been corrected and I am now told that the hesitation/bucking at all speeds is "normal".
