Our heater core has gone out twice now, preventing us from properly being able to defrost our windows /windshield in winter and remove moisture during cooler days. It creates a substantial risk by reducing, or in some cases, completely removing visibility.

Took car in for windshield wiper safety recall on 3/24/23. Before the recall the wipers worked perfectly. After the dealer serviced the wipers they sometimes would not go off and then seemed to be stalling a lot but I did not have many occasions where I needed to use the wipers as I work from home and have a second car in the household. Today I was driving in a severe thunderstorm when they stopped working completely. In fact, they are now stuck in the upright position and will not move. This is extremely dangerous and exactly what the recall was meant to avoid! it makes me wonder if the mechanics actually did anything to my car at all.
Windshield wipers stopped working while in the “on” position on the windshield. I replaced the wiper motor but the wipers still do not work. Yes, this issue was inspected by several reputable mechanics and service centers. This issue causes safety issues as I live in a region who experiences most of almost all precipitation including rain, hail, snow and etc. I am unable to drive under these conditions because I am unable to use my wipers. There were no warning signs or messages before the wipers failed. I was informed by the Dodge/Chrysler dealership that this is a common issue with this truck and year.
Wipers have stopped working after the recall was repaired.
The vehicle windshield wiper system comes on while driving constantly. It is very distracting and definitely causes an obstruction in your visibility. It is very annoying as well. It acts as if the wiper system does not want to go in the park position on the wiper motor.

1. Engine light on reads gas cap . We replaced gas cap numbers times and engine light doesn’t go away. 2. Wipers not working . Water cleaning spray for windows not working front or back windows. 3. I have replaced my windows panel numerous times. The window panels keep braking and my windows stay down. Extremely annoying.
I was driving in town, just pulled forward from a stop light. My wipers started running, my entire instrument cluster started flashing. That included, check engine, oil pressure, low voltage, abs, eps, lost all speedometer reading, rpm reading, fuel level, engine temperature. On the odometer screen it displayed no bus. Now it does it while running, moving, stationary, and not running with the key turned in the on position.
While driving the exiter ring broke causing abs/traction control/esp lights to illuminate. Opening the door the spring detached, door now freely swings open. Heater core needs to be replaced due to poor craftsmanship. The car no longer heats up. The rear window wiper no longer works properly. The doors in the rear of the car no longer lock or unlock when using the electric lock control. The heat shield from under the car broke off the vehicle.

Driving my 2007 Dodge Nitro on a secondary road twice and also on the highway doing 75 I had a loss of power, put my pedal to the floor and nothing. This was a recall back in 2007 but of course my VIN# was not included and it expired. How can you determine which vehicle and when it will be affected when you send out a recall? I bought the vehicle second hand and do not know what the previous owner did or did not have done. I drive my elderly mother and grandchildren in this vehicle and now I do not feel safe. When I called I was told "too bad" so now it costs me 1200. 00 for a safety recall that should be honored on all of Chrysler vehicles. Hopefully someone in the Chrysler family will not have a bad outcome in one of their faulty vehicles.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro. The contact stated that the windshield wipers worked intermittently ever since owning the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the windshield wipers were included in NHTSA campaign number: 09v438000 (visibility). The contact spoke with jeff wyler springfield auto mall (1501 hillcrest Ave, springfield, OH 45504, 937-325-4601) who confirmed that the windshield wiper recall repair was completed by the previous owner. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 110,000.
In the past two years I've had to disconnect battery several times because wipers would continuously turn on and lights on and not shut off. Air conditioner stopped working out of no where after it had been professionally refilled just a year ago. Since I purchase the vehicle from a used car dealer 3 years ago, the power train feels like it pulls on take off also makes an airplane like noise and after picking up certain speed it then drives normal. Once in a while on acceleration it feels like it loose speed or stalls. Engine light went on with code p0507 which can be any issue pertaining to higher fuel pressure. I just replaced battery last month and decided to put a more powerful one to see if maybe issues would resolved but it did not help. About 2 days ago I got the air bag light turn on. When I purchase vehicle there was a recall for the drive shaft heat shield. I took vehicle to dealer to resolve recall and at the same time I mentioned concerning how the vehicle felt and the hissing sound like an airplane taking off when first accelerating. Dodge dealer advised stated that there was a computer (pcm) update that includes some of the issues mentioned but I would have to pay. I found it funny that I would have to pay for something that they claim resolves known issues but I went ahead and paid for it specifically since in the state of florida there is no lemon law when purchasing a used vehicle is purchased as is and I'll go ahead and to mentioned the loan which did not allow me to bargain because they claim to have to used book value. Too bad for Dodge not taking responsibility because the car has good power when its in working condition and it is a good looking car plus roomy for a small SUV; however, a dealer that does not take responsibility for there fault is one to stay away from.
Wiper fluid shoots out the windshield wipers turn on the alarm goes off and car shuts off does all this at once.
Passenger side wiper does not work.
Tpmi issue -while driving wipers and washer came on by themselves. Horn beeping and headlights went out. Looked on line and there were thousands having the same issue.
Takata recall the radio cigarette port and wiper motor stopped working.
Wipers operate on there on as soon as key is turned on. Replaced multifuntion switch, wiper switch and wiper motor. Wipers still on. Taken to dealer did recall for new relays, wipers still on. Dealer will not look at it says recall completed. Taken to independent repair shop and tipm is whats causing issue. Dodge won't fix it under recall which is causing the issue from the begining.
While driving or car sitting it randomly starts honking horn, wipers going, wiper spray, lights flashing. Dangerous while driving on road due to lack of visibility. Suspect tipm (totally integrated power module) is the problem.
We were driving straight through a parking lot on Friday, may 11 and suddenly the wipers in the front and back started going at an accelerated rate and the wiper fluid was continuously pumping out and the horn was continuously honking. I got into a parking spot, tried to turn the car off and it wouldn't. I was even able to turn the key in the ignition to the off but it was still running and I could pull the key out while it was running. . I was so startled I am not sure if the lights or any signals were going off. I did research on the web and apparently many, many people have had that and it is the tipm. It is not an isolated incident with these Nitros. I brought it to the dealer today and they said it would be okay but gave me their card in case it happens again. Honestly, I am afraid to drive this thing especially reading about the many incidents they have had. I reported this to Chrysler as well.
The car has turned off while driving on the city street. Also, the car's horn, window wipers and lights in side have just started going on for no reason while leaving for school. Even after stopping car and turning it off, everything was still going on. I've heard it's a tipm issue with Dodge's vehicles.
The wiper turns on at a high speed, faster than normal, horn get stuck, radio goes off and on for a long period of time and when you turn the truck off all continue to work even with the key out of ignition. This happen when I'm driving or when it's stationary. Does not matter where I'm at, could be on expressway, hwy or road. It gives no warning.
The intermitten windshield wipers go on and off whenever. Even if the engine is off it still happens. Also the horn with suddenly blow with no warning. I have had it go off at 7:15 a. M. And wake the whole neighborhood. Unplugging the fuse from the electrical box makes it not quite so loud but still blowing. I have taken it to the dealership but unable to leave overnight. Their suggestion was to disconnect the battery and horn would stop blowing. I am 77 years old of sound mind and that is not an option for me. Told me to bring back when it did it again, which it did this morning 9/26/17. They are charging me almost $150. 00 for a diagnostic when I told them what the problem probably is. The tipm circuit board. The service agent said it was a costly repair. I do not think I should be paying anything since this seems to be a problem with this particular vehicle. I'm extremely concerned that if the horn starts to blow and I'm behind someone who takes offense and could end up with a road rage incident. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and I am waiting to hear from them. Help. It makes no difference if the car is in my driveway or on the road (which it was this morning). There is no warning it just happens. I've also been concerned the vehicle will catch on fire .
I was driving my car and heard a squeaking and grinding noise while turning I felt my car jerk in the rear so I took my car to aamco total car care this evening the company told me my drive train needs to be replace and my differential seal has leak the fluid was very low from leaking out which I had them add fluid so my rear end does not lock up and cause a bad accident I also did my research on the internet happen to google my car year make and model for recalls it show a major recalls for Dodge Nitro safety hazard from drive trains wreaking from bad drive train also my front window washer fluid will not work on my driver side and my steering wheel feels loose as while and I have a engine light on and my wheel warning light is flashing.
The tipm on this Nitro is causing safety issues. Its stalled going down the highway. It cranks but doesn't start. The wipers will not turn off. It throws up strange error codes then they just go off. My steering wheel controls and cruise control works when they feel like it. Some issues happen while driving , but some happen when stationary.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro 4x4. While driving on a rainy day at 55 mph, the windshield wipers failed to work and made it very difficult to see the road. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted nor made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro. The contact stated that the windshield wipers only functioned on one speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (somerset Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 1491 brayton point rd, somerset, MA 02725, (508) 298-6806), but the failure could not be diagnosed or duplicated. The dealer stated that the windshield wipers were operating correctly. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 183,000.
Windshield wipers went out unexpectedly, cv axel boot tore, transmission shifts hard.
Takata recall there are a lot of problems with the tipm with wiper and there stuff going wrong from c7 area of the tipm on 07 Dodge Nitro slt.
My 2011 Dodge seems to have an electrical issue. I am unable to use the defrost, or air. Each time I turn it on the engine begins to run hot. Also my windshield wipers turn on when I start my engine, but they were not engaged. This happens wen the vehicle is turned on and stationary as well as when in motion.
I ran a quick errand. When I returned to my vehicle, my windshield wipers and headlights came on as soon as I started it. The wipers wouldn't turn off unless the car was turned. The lights will not come on unless the car is on, the dash lights don't wok, and the signals don't work. I had to drive home that way in plenty of traffic. I felt unsafe driving the vehicle, as I had my grand baby with me, after reading several other complaints identical to mine, happening after 8 years of owning the vehicles, makes it seem that it was done intentionally by the manufacturer to get it back for repairs.
Since last week, randomly while vehicle was in motion or sitting at idle, it will chime with a warning. All my warning lights flash, all my gauges stop working except vehicle temp, my odometer reads "no bus". The wipers begin to go crazy on their own and I lose operation of my blinkers and high beams as well as fog lights and control of wipers. Main headlights just stay on. The vehicle still runs and drives but the gauges just sound like everything is constantly trying to reset. This lasts anywhere from a minute to 20 minutes. The vehicle will go back to normal and then randomly it will happen again. I drove from charleston wv to la plata MD and this instance occurred 9 times in that 6 hour drive. It was completely random and lasted random amounts of time. No bumps or turns triggered it. It didn't favor happening going up or down mountains, just whenever it decided to glitch out. So at any given point during my drive, I'd lose capabilities to use my blinkers and high beams, let alone know how fast I was going and how much fuel I had left. . . . It was very nerve-wracking. From my research with these symptoms, it points to the tipm. This concerns me as multiple other Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles have had recalls on the tipm for this and fuel pump relay issues. But my vehicle wasn't listed. I feel loss of blinkers, speed and fuel gauges, and proper use of my high beams/fog lights and windshield wipers is a major safety concern. If I can be pulled over not using a blinker but cannot use it due to this issue at random times. . . That should drive a safety recall.
Wipers will not spray fluid.
The wind shield wipers come on and wont turn off and none of the lighting controls work , high beam, on /off, dash controls. . . This happens randomly.
The windshield wipers work erratic. They will not shut off or will not turn on at times. When driving down the road the wipers may just start working without being turned on. Also when driving down the road and it starts to rain the wipers may not turn on at times.
