Four problems related to seats have been reported for the 1996 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Seats do not lock into position. Seat backs do not lock into position.
20/40 front driver and passenger seat can be folded foward easily without unlatching them . There is no safety device to keep seat from going foward.
Front seat slides on its own while vehicle is in motion.
Front passenger seat failed to remain locked in position with a passenger sitting in it. When brakes were applied passenger's seat would go forward, causing passenger to hit dashboard and into windshield. Contacted manufacturer, and was informed too many miles on vehicle to do anything.
