Three problems related to tailgate have been reported for the 1996 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Bed has completely cracked in width of vehicle. This condition makes vehicle unstable. Consumer states there are also cracks at edges near tail gate. Tailgate hinges broke. Handles on window broke, causing window to open while vehicle was in motion.
Tailgate side of the bed fell apart. The part was loosened from the original welding part.
Box has separated and caused tailgate to fall from the truck. Please describe details.
