Two problems related to carrier/rack have been reported for the 1997 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Had noticed bracket was cracked where it attaches the trailer to the hitch. Crack was severe. Owner bought new bracket & replaced the old one. The entire hitch has to be replaced and it is the same hitch that was recalled.
While driving the cable that holds the spare tire in place broke causing the spare tire to come off the truck. Nlm.
