Automatic Transmission problems of the 2000 Dodge RAM

Five problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 2000 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2000

Transmission does not properly shift into different gears, cause unknown. The consumer had been to the dealer several times for repairs of ball joints, power steering and the transmission.

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 12/21/1999

This is the second truck that almost got me killed, the first was a 1999. No saferty defect listed.

3 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 11/01/1999

Cruise control engages at any given time. Dealer noticed transmission sending unit cable got loose. Consumer states most common scenario is cruise control being set at speed, then being cancelled by consumer either by cancel button or by braking, cruise will then reengage at set speed.

4 Automatic Transmission problem

Transmission went completely out without prior warning while driving. Consumer has contacted dealer. Please provide any further details.

5 Automatic Transmission problem

My three year old put my truck in gear if I was not there to stop it he could have been seriously hurt . Something needs to be done to fix this problem ,I am not the only mother that drives a truck that has children, I know that it is mandatory for light trucks ,but why not these? someone is going to be hurt seriously from this.
