Ten problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 2000 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The consumer was involved in an accident and the air bag on driver's side did not deploy. She was going about 20 mph and hit a telephone pole. The caller said the air bags were working. The caller was injured when she hit the steering wheel. Police were called and a report was taken. . Dealer and manufacturer have not been contacted yet. Vehicle was totaled.
Consumer 's vehicle was involved in a collision hitting another vehicle in rear at 35mph. Upon impact, neither driver's or passenger's air bag deployed.
While driving at 50mph vehicle was involved in rear end collison and none of air bags deployed. .
Vehicle hit a lamp post at 20 mph, neither airbag deployed. Vehicle was totalled, consumer hit head on windshield.
While driving at 45 mph, consumer was in an accident and ran into another vehicle, but none of the air bags deployed.
Consumer was going 35-40mph and hit other vehicle broadside. Massive front end damage. Steering wheel had to be lifted for consumer get out of vehicle. Front airbags gave no signs of trying to deploy. Vehicle was totalled. Dodge sent out an independent inspector to body shop. Consumer hasn't gotten a reason from anyone why airbags didn't deploy.
I was traveling around 30mph. Came up on stop sign road turned to ice coud not stop hit enbankment head on shoulder strap did not catch face hit windshield cracked nose in two places. If air bags would have deployed injuries would not have been so bad !!!.
Consumer was traveling about 50mph on highway and was going east, and second vehicle was going south. Also, consumer's vehicle ran the stop sign, and hit other vehicle on the passenger's side. Upon impact, airbags didn't deploy. Dealership will be notified.
