The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. 2 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 1995 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 10/26/2022

The contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 01v037000 (vehicle speed control) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that parts to perform the recall repair had been discontinued. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. 3 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 10/20/2011

While driving home 10/20 ~8pm, I was slowing down in freeway traffic ~45mph. I took my foot off the brake and was just about to press down on the accelerator pedal, my truck surged forward for about . 25 of a second (split second). This has happened in the past ~8 times. I notified the dealer at 26,000 mile service and they said it was the enginge switching between the eco mode and normal mode. (5. 7 hemi). Please advise. (I purchased this vehicle new from folsom Dodge, CA. ).

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2004 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 05/04/2011

The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph the electronic throttle control went into limp mode and the warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was stopped and shut off. Upon restart, the vehicle operated as normal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on several occasions where it was repaired. The failure continued. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,857 and the current mileage was 105,909.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2004 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 03/23/2010

The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram. The contact stated that while driving 20 miles per hour, the vehicle accelerated. The failure previously occurred during rainy weather conditions. The accelerator pedal was not the cause of failure since no pressure was applied to the accelerator pedal. The police were contacted due to the property damage and a report was filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was involved in an crash in 2005 when the brakes did not engage. The contact had not spoken with the manufacturer. The vehicle was under investigation with the insurance company. The vehicle will be towed to the dealer for assessment. The current and failure mileages were not available.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 1997 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 06/02/2002

After starting vehicle consumer shifted to reverse, suddenly vehicle accelerated and engine revved. Consumer applied brakes, which did not stop vehicle. After about 100 feet consumer shut off engine, and passenger shifted to park. While accelerating on its own, the vehicle damaged the garage doors and part of the house.

When vehicle is at a complete stop at idle, vehicle will quit running or rev up to 1000 rmps, and lurch forward. Contacted dealer, who informed consumer they were aware of the problem, and their quick solution was to leave air conditioner on.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2000 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 11/01/2001

After the vehicle is turned on engine surges, causing the forward movement of approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches. Also, a "grinding noise" coming from the rear of vehicle during normal operation. Dealership recommended use of a special synthetic oil and performing a series of maneuvers in a parking lot to loosen the clutch. Please provide any additional information / documentation.

All four rear wheels are bent. The only people until now to touch this vehicle have been Dodge dealerships(sandoval in nm. They also eventually fixed the speed control which would add 5 to 20 mph to a setting at any time. Very dangerous. I have tried to get t a Dodge dealership here (laramie, wy)to look at my rims and they give me the runaround.

Vehicle accelerated from stop to high speed at engine startup. "burned rubber" for 30 feet before vehicle was stopped. Driver refused to drive vehicle after incident. Dealer contacted but advised that no previous event similar to this had ever occured to their knowledge. Is this similar to any other event with 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 with 360 cid engine?.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 1997 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 07/14/1999

While driving at 35 mph vehicle accelerated in low speed. Consumer put transmission into reverse and then into park, and vehicle sideswiped another vehicle at 15 mph0. Upon impact, driver's side air bag deployed and vehicle started to accelerate at high speed, and and vehicle went out of control. Consumer applied the brakes, and the vehicle wouldn't stop. It fishtailed. And consumer wife, who was pregnant, had to jump out of the vehicle due to vehicle veering into oncoming traffic . Then driver put vehicle into park, and engine continued racing. Turned key off and jumped out and ran behind his wife.

Consumer was driving, pulling a 24ft pontoon boat, traveling 20mph on wet pavement, hit brakes and the truck started going faster, 5-6 times. Hit brakes, went down hill, right side of road into ditch, truck turned over twice. Totalled truck and boat. Police arrived to scene, turned the key and truck roared. Accelecerator was stuck. Dealer was not contacted yet. Manufacturer will sent investigation team, cannot duplicate the problem.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 1998 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 07/01/1998

Speed control adds an additional 7 to 12 mph when it is set. If set at 65 it will go to 72 to 77 before stopping. It stays at 72 to 77 mph for 5 to 10 minutes and then will drop back to the original setting of 65. This is a very dangerous situation and is common in all '98 and '99 Dodge Rams. Dodge must do something to fix this situation.

At 20,000 miles the throttle control rod broke in half, causing the engine to drop to idle. Rod was replaced. Garage said that this occurs often.

When placing transmission gear in reverse vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, crashing into a brick fence. Also, consumer stepped on brake pedal and rear wheels were spinning. Consumer has contacted dealer. Dealer has made some adjustments, but problem still occurs. Please provide any further details.

Consumer is not satisified with the length of time it is taking to perform recall, even after having parts ordered in advance, consumer requested that vehicle be serviced the same day, however he received a call stating that the repairs had not been started, consumer then returned vehicle only to later be informed that the part broke and was said to defective, and another part was to be ordered.
