One problem related to automatic transmission park/neutral start switch has been reported for the 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was able to shift gear indicator without application of brakes, allowing gears to be shifted by mistake at any time while vehicle was running. Dealer said it was normal and part of design. Consumer feels manufacturer needs to warn all owners of this.
