Two problems related to tailgate have been reported for the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Paint started to bubble on fenders and has progressed to full rust. Also tailgate has begun to rust also.
A two year old 38 pound toddler was climbing up the tailgate and was able to release the tailgate. As a result the child's arm broke. The consumer feels the tailgate should not have been released so easily. This incident also put a dent in the tailgate.
