Two problems related to tank assembly have been reported for the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that when refueling the vehicle, the vehicle would only allow him to add one dollar worth of gas at a time in order to prevent the gasoline from spewing back out from the filler tune. The manufacturer was contacted in regards to the failure and informed the contact that he possibly would need to replace the fuel tank. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed him that he would need to replace the fuel tank as well, but was unsure if it would correct the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.
My 2004 Dodge 1500 ram truck has a defective valve on the fuel tank . Dodge told me the entire fuel tank needs to be changed to the tune of about $900! however, Dodge does not have any fuel tanks & I'd be # 83 on a wait list!!! in the meantime, I cannot fill my tank with gas !!! I called Dodge 800 # three weeks ago, but have still not heard back. Local dealers are not helpful either.
